Thirty minutes after students started running, one by one, every single person fell on the ground. Most of the students were only able to finish five laps without using their quirks. They thought it was very unfair for their teacher to say that it was a quirk examination when they couldn't even use their quirks.

The only remaining students were Katsuro, Izuku, Shiro and surprisingly...Denki.

Izuku looked at Denki and said, "You actually seem like a normal person who belongs in this class, unlike your friend."

Denki dryly laughed and replied, "Mineta and I are friends since childhood. I can't get rid of him even if I want to. I always wanted to have some pals I can talk to, but once I mentioned Mineta they acted as if they didn't know me but I got used to it."

"Damn I didn't expect a whole backstory but hey, nice to meet you! I am Izuku!"

Hearing his words Denki smiled and replied, "I am Denki, Denki Kaminari. Oh, by the way, you don't seem to be struggling all that much. Do you jog often?"

Izuku nodded and replied, "Every day at 4 am. I enjoy it very much. But you seem to be faring quite well unlike those two behind us."

Denki looked at the two girls and smiled bitterly.

Katsuro was gasping for air and was about to pass out and Shiro looked calm but she was visibly exhausted.

"Should we slow down? I feel bad for them." Denki said.

Izuku shook his head and replied, "Nah, it's fine. Leave them alone. Let's add on the speed, shall we?"

"Sure."

Both Izuku and Denki accelerated and they were soon out of their reach.

Katsuro finally couldn't hold it in any longer and fell on the ground.

'God... Deku sure is full of energy. He looks like he didn't even sweat.'

She laid on the ground and breathed heavily. She looked at Shiro and saw that she was struggling.

'Why doesn't she just give up?'

Shirou was barely walking straight. She finally managed to pass another lap and gained one more point. She looked at the device Aizawa was holding in his hands and saw that her points were finally tied up with Mineta. She then looked at his face and saw him panicking. He obviously didn't want her to pass him in points.

'Just... One more lap to go...'

She breathed heavily and couldn't even walk properly. Shiro looked at Izuku and though, 'Just what drives him? How is he so strong? This isn't fair... No... My life wasn't fair from the beginning...I just got used to it.'

She was always winning in everything without even trying. She was looked up to by her peers and the teachers were afraid of her. She inherited her fire quirk from her father and her ice quirk from her mother.

Her mother was always getting hit by her father. He blamed her for being unable to produce a male heir. One day, Endeavor was drunk and he hurt her mother pretty badly. He then told Shiro that she won't see her mother ever again.

Endeavor took her to one of his houses and trained her ever since she was seven. He hit her when he was disappointed in her. He didn't give her dinner if she didn't practice her quirk properly. He also forbid her from using her second quirk until she didn't fully mastered her flames.

Everyday way like a hell to her, until... She stopped caring. She didn't feel sad when she got hit, she didn't cry when she couldn't eat her dinner. She simply focused on everything her father told her. That's why, even if she doesn't want to have a child with someone she barely knows, she is willing to accept her father's orders. Because that's what she has been doing for the past 8 years.

She honestly didn't even know why she tried so much to stay in this class. She could have just given up 6 laps ago. Maybe she didn't want to end up in the last place to save some face? Maybe she didn't want to disappoint Endeavor again? Maybe she saw something interesting in Izuku and felt like she had to stay in the same class as him?

As Shiro was slowly dragging her body through the track field, her limbs were slowly losing strength.

'My mother... It's been so long since I've seen her. I wonder if she still remembers me.' random thoughts were flooding through her head until she finally couldn't hold on and collapsed. Her vision was dizzy but she could still clearly see the line which would give her the point she needed.

'I am... Almost... There...' tears slowly fell from her face. She couldn't even remember when was the last time she cried.

Just as she was about to pass out, she felt that someone picked her up and carried her. She couldn't see who it was but she knew he felt warm.

Izuku was feeling bad. As he targeted her in the beginning, Shiro must have become desperate for points so she passed the limits of what she was capable of. He picked her up in the princess's carry and finished the lap with her.

He truly regretted his decision. Just the thought of not having Itsuka in the class angered him but, Shiro unmistakably belonged in this class and after today's display of her iron will, Izuku was left impressed.

"I am sorry... For everything." even if she couldn't hear him, he swore that he will be nicer to her in the future.

"Teacher Aizawa! It looks like she collapsed! I will bring her to Recovery Girl."

Hearing him, Aizawa nodded and concluded today's exam.

"Everyone. Listen up! Here are your rankings!"

Everyone checked the device and Mineta couldn't help but get angry.

"What's the meaning of this?! How does she have more points than me!? She didn't manage to finish the lap on her own! Midoriya helped her! That's against the rules!"

Aizawa grinned and replied, "Against the rules? I only told you not to use your quirks. I never said that helping each other is prohibited. As student Midoriya managed to help her, she earned herself a point. The job of heroes is to find the true meaning behind every deception and Midoriya passed with flying colors. Not only did he saw through it, but he also willingly helped his opponent."

Hearing that, Mineta didn't know what to say, "But..."

Aizawa waved him off and said, "Student with the worst score, Mineta Minoru will be transferred to the class 1B. I am sorry, but your talent isn't enough for class 1A."
