My Little Secret

Chapter 5:Being Sofia Malitz.

I never really liked my name. My parents didn't give me a family name which made it a task for me to explain my origin. Plus, everyone always got my spelling wrong. My friends, who were actually aware of the fact that it annoyed me when people got my spelling wrong, did it on purpose to tick me off. But when a total stranger did that, it annoyed me on a whole new level.

"Sofeeeyaa! I need you!" I could hear Meghan calling my name with the worst possible pronunciation ever.

I look at her direction and shoot a grin at her, maybe covering my anger. I was going to kill her someday.

There are people who think they are pretty and there is Meghan Cavanaugh, carrying a whole new level of narcissism with her. If Meghan had a fan club, it was probably created by her. If Meghan had a stalker, it would be her own split personality acting up and if Meghan seemed like a kind person to you, abort mission RIGHT NOW. She would be definitely plotting something against you.

Most men, including Victor Gibson, found Meghan to be a viable option though. Meghan was average looking with a shallow personality. Not that I was jealous of her beauty, not that she had any, but because of how inconsiderate she was to other people. She bossed around and always got her way. She yelled at people and did what she thought was right.

She also had this annoying habit of only speaking to people who looked good enough to her. She spoke to me for the same. Why did I put up with her? Honestly, I didn't know. Maybe I was too afraid to stand up and tell her about how shallow she was. Or maybe because she was the boss's favorite. I always wondered what Victor saw in her. Maybe because of her big bosom. Men. Ugh.

Speaking of Victor, I had been avoiding him since that incident and was planning on doing so for eternity. I've been meaning to write to Adam about it but assumed he would be too comfortable to know who my latest crush was and how I had a vision about him being a psychopath. Too soon maybe.

I wondered; how could I possibly have all this going on in my mind as I stay still for twenty seconds. There was nothing I couldn't overthink about. My mind was always working, sometimes it was too complicated even for me to understand. I put a pause to my thoughts as I approached Meghan's cubicle.

"Ah yes, the dreamer" I hated when she said that. I smile, weakly.

If only I could stab her and get away with it. Honestly, I wouldn't mind serving a prison sentence either. Killing her was worth it.

'Focus' I think to myself.

"So, we've decided on your mentor before you start working with Aaron" she says with a hint of excitement like she was onto something.

"That's great, so who do I get to work with?" I ask.

I wasn't sure what to expect.

"Well, your partner is Luke" she says and he pops up behind me. He seemed happy and so was I.

"And your mentor is Victor Gibson!" she says with a grin as if I was supposed to be happy with it as well.

"For the next two weeks!" she says as she stresses on the number.
