My Navy Seal II: Undeniable Attraction

As I finished the letter that this wonderful man wrote to me and I see him bending down on one knee, there is nothing that I can do to stop the tears falling from my eyes. Just because he is a man of few words does not mean that he is not a romantic man.

I quickly get on my knees too and hold his hand with the box. I keep my eyes on him and then I struggle to say the words through my tears.

"Nick, you can ask me a thousand times and my answer will always stay the same. There is no other man that I want to share my life with but you. So, my answer will always be yes. I will be so proud to be your wife"

I see that cocky smile of his returning to his face as he takes out the ring in the box and then puts it on my finger. It is the perfect ring and I do not know how he knew I would love it.

"It is so beautiful. I love it!"

NICK

It is as if a wave of relief has filled my entire being. I was not sure if what I would do to present the ring to her will be good enough but I knew if I just put my heart and soul in the letter then she would know how I feel. I was panicking a bit about the ring but she loves it.

"I am so happy that you like it. I do have one more thing for you"

KIM

This entire thing that he has organized to give the ring to me and of course, the beautiful ring is more than what I could ever ask for. Now he tells me that he has something else for me.

"What can you possibly give me that could even come close to what you already have given me?"

I wipe my tears away while he turns around and takes out a long black box from his back pocket. Then he smiles and gives it to me. I open it and it is a plain silver necklace. It is very beautiful but I can not help but wonder.

"It is so beautiful, Nick. But the ring would have been enough for me"

Then he helps me up and as he puts his hands around my waist, he says.

"The necklace is for when we deploy and you can not wear your ring. I want you to put your ring on the necklace and hold it close to your heart"

Just when I thought my tears were gone another stream of tears decides to fall down my cheeks. I can not stop myself as I kiss him a deep and passionate kiss. I can feel myself giving my everything to him through this kiss and if I can pull him even closer to me, I would.

I need him to know that he means everything to me. We just stand there kissing each other for I do not know how long. The more we kiss the more it feels like we will never be able to breathe without one another again.

Then, finally, we get a breath and I keep my lips only an inch away from him.

"I will love you forever you know?"

I feel him smile against my lips and then he says.

"There is no amount of time that will be enough with you but let's start with forever"

It feels as if I want to rip his shirt off his body and show him how much I love him but I know that the party is about to start and we need to get back. I kiss him once more and I feel his hands caressing my back.

Then I pull away from him unwillingly and put my forehead against his while holding him tight.

"I have some bad news"

Suddenly he pulls away from me and then with a frown on his face he says.

"What is wrong?"

"The party is about to start and I do not want to leave this moment"

Then he smiles again and I smile at him. He takes my hand and we start to walk back to the car. We do not say one word to each other. We just enjoy each other's presence. He opens the door for me and then he says.

"After you, future Mrs. Roberts"

I can not help but feel like a schoolgirl with butterflies in my stomach when he says those words. Just to imagine being married to this man is enough to make any woman weak at the knees.

NICK

As I get into the car and we drive back I feel satisfied. I am glad that we can go into the engagement party with a ring on her finger exactly the way things are supposed to be. As we stop in the driveway at her house she turns to me.

"Thank you for this, Nick. I am so happy that I can show my ring to everyone"

I smile, feeling even more pleased with the fact that I decided to do what I did. I smile and then give her a kiss on her cheek, saying.

"Every princess deserves a beautiful ring"

We laugh as we get out of the car and then we walk hand-in-hand into the house. As we get closer to the kitchen, we hear two people laughing. We turn the corner into the kitchen and then we see our mothers chatting the storm away.

I do not know how I feel about this. On the one hand, I am very happy they are getting along and on the other, I wonder what they are talking about. No doubt it has to do with Kim and me. I can only imagine how many embarrassing stories my mother told her already.

"Ah, Nick you are just in time. I was about to tell Debbie the story about how you wanted to ride your bike by yourself"

I can see how happy my mom is and I almost would not feel embarrassed if she is going to tell that story. But a man has his pride.

"Please, mom, I think you have done enough of damage with, no doubt, all the embarrassing stories already?"

Everyone just laughs and then Kim's mom looks at her watch.

"Well, look at the time. We need to get you kids ready for the party which is about to start very soon"

KIM

I look around the room and I do not see any decorations or any clue that the party could be able to start. My mom looks completely calm and this is just not normal. I frown as I ask her.

"What do you mean the party is about to start and the house looks so not party-like?"

My mother only laughs at me and then walks closer while putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Honey, this is not a small party, I have decided to keep it in the barn and the caterers and party planner was busy the entire day getting it ready for tonight"

I knew that this is going to be a big deal but I never thought that she would invite the entire town. I only stand there, in shock, when my mother smiles and say to me.

"I even got you a dress. Now, let's get going"

I can but only look at Nick as my mother takes me away to my bedroom. As I open the door I see a beautiful black dress laid out on the bed. There is a sequence of silver diamonds draped on one side and there are slits on the sides with a low open back.

"Wow, mom you really know what I like. Thank you so much for this and the party. You really did go all out"

She laughs and then as she starts to walk out the door she says.

"Oh, honey, wait until you have seen the party..."

She closes the door behind me and then suddenly I realized I have no idea what is in store for me. I can not help but feel a little bit nervous.

NICK

I watch as Kim's mother takes her out of the room and I can see her eyes almost begging me to help her. But I know that this is one thing she has to face on her own. I turn back to my mother and then I say.

"Did you sleep well?"

"I have slept better in these few hours than what I have in years"

I smile at the fact that my mother seems happy. Life has changed completely for me and I can honestly say only for the best. I get to marry Kim and I have my mother back.

I then essort my mother back to her room and make my way back to the bathroom. I take out my bag and then put on the clothes that I brought with me for the party. I do not know if I have the right clothes but I brought my black denim and my light blue collar shirt. As a button up my shirt and roll up my sleeves, I look in the mirror and smile.

I know that this expression is an expression that I do not normally see in the mirror.. I am a lucky and happy man.
