My Navy Seal II: Undeniable Attraction

KIM

I am standing in front of a mirror with the dress that my mom picked out for me and I look so different from the person that I was when Nick first met me. I remember how he leaned against his car busy talking on his phone and how lost I was about where I should go. Then Nita asked him to take my luggage and I remember the look he gave me.

I also remember how I thought that I would like to rip his shirt right off him. He was the best man candy that I have seen in a long time. And here I am today at my engagement party with that man. I never thought back then that we would end up like this but I am so happy that things worked out the way they did.

I turn around and look at my dress from the back in the mirror one last time and then I put on the beautiful ring that Nick bought me. I start to walk to the door. As I get closer to the door I hear someone knocking. I open the door and it is the very man I was thinking about and boy, does he look yummy.

"I was just thinking about you"

I can not hide the smile on my face as I put my hand on his chest.

"You really know how to clean up..."

NICK

As she opens the door I see an amazing stunningly beautiful woman standing before me. She is the epiphany of beauty. The way that her blonde long locks of hair are falling over her shoulder and her blue eyes just staring at me. That, can definitely drive any man insane. Her red velvet lips just opening enough to make me want her, right here and right now.

Then she dares to put her hand on my chest and my mind turns to mush.

"God...you are exceptionally beautiful"

How did it happen that I can be such a lucky man to have this woman by my side tonight? I pull her closer to me and give her a kiss that represents my feelings for her. If I could have my way right now we would not leave this room. She pushes herself away from me and with her eyes still closed for a moment, she says.

"Thank you, soldier. Shall we?"

I gave her my arm to hook into and then we walk down the hall to the kitchen. It is amazing how it almost feels as if we are going to our prom. As we get to the kitchen our moms is waiting for us. Both of them are almost immediately in tears and now I know it is going to be a long night.

KIM

As we stand in the kitchen I make sure to hold tight onto his muscled arm. He is my safety and my home. Then my mom speaks up.

"You two look so good together. Now let's go to the living room and take a picture"

Of course, my mother is going to take a picture. With every occasion in my life, she has taken a picture. Sometimes it is a good thing and sometimes it is just plain irritating but I think tonight is a good thing. I want to remember this night and every moment in it.

As we stand to take the picture I can not help but just look at the man standing next to me. He does mean the world to me. Then my mother practically pushes us out of the door and we make our way to the barn.

As we get closer to the barn I did not expect as many cars as I see. I am sure that my mother did, in fact, invite the entire town. My mother and Nick's mother get out of the car and then walk into the barn. As Nick hold his arm out for me one more time I suddenly froze.

It is as if I only now realize what is happening. I am about to walk into a barn full of people that I know since my school days and they are all here to celebrate my engagement. But that is not the reason that froze me. Nick looks at me with a frown on his face and says.

"Are you okay?"

"I don't think I can go in there"

"Why not?"

Every last memory comes flooding back to me. The day in that coffee shop where she told me that I was adopted. The look she had on her face of pure hate. I know that my mother would have invited her too only because she will not let her skip an event like this.

"I know that my sister will be there and I do not think I have the strength to face her"

NICK

I suddenly see the strong confident woman that I know and love turn into a weak little girl. Fear is written all over her face and that is the one thing that I want to protect her of. I will not let anyone hurt my beloved.

"Kim, I want you to look into my eyes. You are not alone anymore. Whatever you have to face, we will do it together. I will not leave your side for a second and I promise you that your sister will never hurt you again the way she did"

I put my hands on her waist and I make sure that she feels the safety that I give her when she is with me. I put my forehead against hers and then I almost whisper.

"I love you, doc. Tonight is about us not about them"

I see her smiling at me and I know that she feels safe again.

KIM

I appreciate how he makes me feel loved and wanted. I know now that I am not alone and that he will be by my side. I take him by the hand and then we walk through the doors. Then the DJ announces.

"The couple of the hour has arrived! Let's give them a cheer! Hooray to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Roberts!"

Everyone starts to clap and cheer. I can not help but smile at everyone that is here to celebrate my engagement with this wonderful man. Then someone leads us to a table on a stage and I guess this will be our seat for the remainder of the night.

Then one-by-one people come up to us and congratulate us. Family that I have not seen for many years and even friends from school. I look at Nick as everyone comes by to congratulate us and I soon realize that he is just as happy as I am.

Sometimes he will pull me closer to him while we are talking to people that congratulate us and other times he would just give me a kiss on the cheek out of nowhere. Then my dad also makes his way to us.

"Congratulations you two. You make a beautiful couple"

He shakes Nick's hand and gives me a hug. Then he turns to me and says.

"Do you mind if I steal Nick away? I promise I will not be long"

I turn to look at Nick and he gives me a nod.

"Of course"

NICK

As Kim's father approaches, I can see a certain look in his eyes. He does not look like all the other people that came to congratulate us but I know exactly what that look means. Then he asks Kim to steal me away for a minute and my feeling is confirmed.

We walk to a quiet place and then he hands me a beer.

"I would like to congratulate you on getting married to my daughter"

He lifts up his beer and then we clink our bottles and I take a sip. But as soon as I have finished drinking and I lower my beer I see his demeanor has changed completely.

"Nick, I believe you to be a good man. But I need you to know that you have chosen to marry my daughter and as you know she was adopted because my brother died. So, she has a very special place in my heart. Should you ever decide to hurt her just now, I will come after you and I will kill you"

I must say that I never had a dad of someone that I dated speak to me this way but on the other hand I know that Kim is very special and I would not have it any other way. This only shows me that her dad cares for her and that she is loved.

"Sir, I want to assure you that there is no way in my world that I will hurt her, ever"

He gives me a pat on my shoulder and then we walk back to Kim.

"I brought him back to you as I promised. You guys have a fun time"

Then he walks off and Kim turns to me.

"What was that all about?"

"Oh, you know just the usual I-will-kill-you-if-you-hurt-her talk"

She starts to laugh and then I frown at her and say.

"Why are you laughing?"

"Does he know that you are a Navy Seal?"
