2. Chapter 2: Breaking into the Tomb

Translator: mellet

Xia Mingyu moved a few steps, leaned against the wall and shivered. His hand was bleeding because of the bruise. At the same time, the zombie who had just gone far turned over.

Xia Mingyu was shocked, however, the more fear, more instead to calm down. He immediately got up and ran towards the path made up of the stone wall flames. But just after he reached the intersection, he stopped again and looked at the zombies standing next to the flames with horror, all zombies on the road!

There was a bouncing sound behind him, and he didn’t have to look back to check if the zombie had come over. He had only two options: 1. not to take this potentially more dangerous road, and fight with the zombie. However, it was impossible: Xia Mingyu was just fourteen. No matter how strong he was, he can’t beat the zombies.

The second option is simple, anyway, it seemed that these zombies had not been alive yet. If he rush along the road in one breath, he may survive. But he didn’t know how long the road was and how many zombies there were, and if suddenly all zombies woke up, the situation would be even worse. Even if he run through the road successfully, there might be other monsters at the end.

But it is better to fight, when every method may lead to death,

When Xia Mingyu pondering, zombie behind was already in front of him.  Xia Mingyu gritted his teeth, stumbled towards the front. He held the breath along the road notwithstanding he didn’t know if it was useful, but it was said in TV that the breath of living people would make the dead bodies be alive, he was not meant to accompany the zombie.

The reality is always worse than expected. Just after Xia Mingyu ran a few distance, he heard the sound of clicking behind him which was like the sound of bone activity. The graveyard became colder and colder, which definitely meant that the zombies behind him were alive.

Xia Mingyu’s face was pale, and he looked at his hands, which were slightly bleeding, and he guessed that the zombies might have been active because they smelled blood. This time, he was dead dead anyway.

So he no longer held his breath and just kept on running. Probably the human being’s potential was forced out: Xia Mingyu ran vigorously, and the group of zombies behind couldn’t catch up with him because of the narrow road. In a word, it was threatening but not dangerous.

After running out of the path, Xia Mingyu entered a tomb. Following the light on the stone wall, he saw that the tomb in front of him was a cross shape: the top was all round arches, and there were two ear chambers, left and right. At the center of the intersection, were a circular pit about three or four meters in diameter, leading to the unknown underground. And a path was in front.

Xia Mingyu didn’t know if there were any other zombies. He just rushed forward without hesitation, but with bad luck, one of the backwards jumped to the opposite side, blocking the path in front. Xia Mingyu stepped back , turned around to run to the next ear chamber, when the other zombies gradually arrived. And another two jumping zombies stuck him in the middle by imitating the previous zombie .

Xia Mingyu retreated to the deep pit and looked at the approaching zombies, his heart was panicked, what could he do now? Who will save him?

Just when Xia Mingyu was overwhelmed, a zombie rushed up, and then all the zombies rushed over. Xia Mingyu finally slipped and fell into the deep pit. When he fell into the deep pit, a secret door opened, sealing the pit and isolating the zombies.

Xia MIngyu’s heart finally fell to the ground. He clenched the knife in his hands, and decided to kill himself when there was no way to go, which was much better than bitten to death by the zombies.

It was a ten-feet but hurting falling. Thanks to the cushion of the soft stuff next to him, no more injuries.

However, the knife fell under the impact force, and there was no light around him. Dark, really dark. Xia Mingyu groped for the knife subconsciously, but felt that the ground became particularly cold, and there were hard scales. With hissing sounds around the ears, Xia Mingyu stopped, heart sanking as he were dead.

It is a coiled thigh-thick python. Xia Mingyu was so “lucky” that fell right on the top of a python. The python was not in a hurry, slowly entangled Xia Mingyu legs, and gradually twisted up. Xia Mingyu struggled to push the python away, which led to no movement. He had to grope around, wanting to find the knife, even if he knew that the small knife is not of great effect, but at least it could make him feel better psychologically.

The python soon wrapped around Xia Mingyu’s chest, raised its head high, and a pair of faint green pupils stared at Xia Mingyu without any emotion. The only thing Xia Mingyu could see was the python’s eyes.

The python began to tighten its body and Xia Mingyu gasped for breath. He knew that most snakes would slowly strangle the prey after catching it, then swallow it, and according to the power of the python, he would die in less than half an hour.

Xia Mingyu had no plan to do, he dodged the zombie, but didn’t expect to die in the mouth of a python. To be honest, he didn’t want to die. As a human being with flesh and blood, he still had a lot of things to do, he had a lot of feelings to experience…he was not reconciled to the reality–he didn’t want to die.

Xia Mingyu beat the python, which, however, angered it, leading to tighter coil. And the python bit Xia Minyu’s left shoulder hard, causing Xia Mingyu to almost faint.

“Ding dong …”

The ringing of the brass bell echoed through the cave, and Xia Mingyu was already a little dizzy, and the python suddenly lifted its head, glanced around, and saw  a faint ice-blue flame in the cave. The python moved back a little. When the brass bell rang the second time, the python released Xia Mingyu, gave up the hard-won food and ran away.

“Tsk, it’s a hundred years old blue snake. It’s worth a fortune. What a pity.” The sound of the girl’s ethereal voice came from the same place where the brass bell rang , and with a snap, the flashlight turned on, showing the girl’s fine figure, wearing a black denim suit, the long hair up, appeared to be sharp and capable.

The girl put a ball of cotton into the brass bell that drove the blue snake away, then carefully wrapped it up and put it in the small bag besides her waist. Then she came over to check Xia Mingyu situation. Seeing that Xia Mingyu had lost a lot of blood, she twisted her brow and took off Xia’s coat, tore off the shirt inside, tied it to the wound and temporarily stopped the bleeding.

“Where did this dumbass come from? You didn’t bring anything and dare to come down alone to rob a grave?” The maiden mumbled a few words, and a man came out from the tomb door behind,  “He Nai, what are you doing?”

The one just talking to He Nai was a boy in blue clothes, with bandages on his right hand, and looked like he had been injured. He was handsome.

“Bro, when I came over, I only saw a blue snake and this guy, but the blue snake ran away.” He Nai completely told her brother Wangchuan the actual information when the latter explored the pulse of Xia Mingyu and sighed slightly.

“He looks okay, just losing some blood. It doesn’t matter.” Wangchuan squatted down to carry Xia Mingyu, “We have to find Master quickly. This tomb is different from the old ones. It seems that the tomb owner is not easy to mess with. Now we have to save him. It is harder to leave.”

“Well, I listen to you.” He Nai pulled out a bone whip from the waist, looked around vigilantly, then followed Wangchuan out the tomb door through which they had just entered. For a while, the blue snake that had left before climbed out, raising its head and hissing.
