Outcast Hunter

Jegudiel, the chairman of Hunters' Agency. He created the Agency along with the other executives. He went by different names, centuries by centuries. Daniel Reyes , living by his secretary for so long made him feel so close to her. A relationship was formed between them years of years ago. Cristina's been by his side, through ups and downs.

"Sir, I just got a word that hunter Leo will be coming here"

They had the others take shelter at his house, more like a building. The chairman gave each of them a room. His house's like a hotel for celebrities or some famous figure.

Makati Diamond Residences is a 28-storey luxury serviced apartment in Legaspi Village, in Makati. Makati Diamond Residences is a product of San Miguel Properties, Inc – a subsidiary of one of the largest companies in the Philippines – and their first venture into luxury serviced apartments. The building has a height of 106..83 m (350.49 ft). It was constructed in 2011 and was completed in 2015.

Chairman Daniel Reyes owns the hotel.

"What time?" The chairman asked. He just got up from his bed. He, then went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face.

Secretary Cristina prepared a towel for him to use.

"Afternoon sir, he said he has something to do first at the complex"

'He'll collect the souls. About the Grace, I hope he hasn't consumed it, yet'

Secretary Cristina, she was waiting outside the bathroom's door. She can hear the water splashing on the floor of the bathroom.

"Leave the towel down there! I'll have you make preparations for hunter Leo's visit!"

The chairman raised his voice for his secretary to hear him.

"I will, sir. But, what are we gonna do about all of these messages from different Agency!?"

"I'll deal with it later. Just do what I told you!"

He arrived at the Complex. It was almost cleaned, the corpses and debris have been removed.

Normal people is not allowed to enter the Complex. I was able to, because I'm a hunter and there were other personnel from the Agency too.

Three days ago, after Leo passed out, the chairman's personal bodyguards took him and the others. It was to protect our information, identity and things about the Group B, they have their horn protruding from their forehead and they didn't bother covering it.

"I could see them, the soul of the dead"

Floating around the complex, the souls were roaming the area. They seemed like they have no idea that they are already dead.

[Inventory]

'I bought and restored a lot of potions. It's easy to take them out than buy them at the store when I need it'

He browsed through the items. It was separated by its usage. Weapons, potions, items and other things he stored but was not bought from the store.

'Hmm? Isn't this..?'

What he stumbled upon was a scythe. It was stored inside his inventory, but he has no memory of him, storing it. It looks familiar, it was the scythe he used when he fought that monster, the one that looks like a grim reaper.

'With this, I can raise my health and resurrect someone I want to bring back, but I need 50 souls to resurrect a soul. Bringing back the dead, I should think this through'

He took out both the scythe and the sword. He decided to collect 200 souls using the sword, stacking 2 sword's active skill. And the rest, he will be using the scythe. There at least, a thousand who had died, during the gate outbreak. That was the fastest gate outbreak, it took just 2 days for its barrier to break and let the demons out.

Agency's personnel and other workers who are present there were confused. They saw Leo, he was swinging his sword, like he was fighting an enemy.

"What's that guy doing?"

After a while, after he collected 200 souls for his sword. He used his scythe, and was swinging it to. But this time, for those people, he was not holding anything on his hand. Normal people and their naked eye can't see the scythe, only those like him.

Collecting and reaping souls were not an easy feat. Especially when there's a thousand of them, flying and floating around the area. They were going through the walls, making it hard for Leo to catch them.

It took him about one and a half hour to collect all of the souls that died at the complex.

"Phew! Haa... that was tiring in its own way!"

One of the workers there couldn't keep his question to himself. He went and asked Leo what he was doing that past one and a half hour.

"Ahh... I was cleaning, yeah, cleaning. And, some sword training. Haha... hahaha..."

After that, he excused himself and went on his way.

"Where have I seen his face"

Time check, it was 11:15 AM. He was just on time when he arrived at the designated place where Annie and Neil was waiting for him. They emailed him yesterday after he woke up. They said that they wanted to see Leo, and have at least a lunch with him.

The three of them decided to eat at an 'eat all you can' restaurant. Leo's stomach was growling in hunger when he saw the two of them. They were both waving their hand and was happy to see him.

"How are you Le- what's that!? Where's your right arm!?"

Annie was surprised when she saw his right arm was gone. So was Neil, they both tried to look everywhere around him if he was doing some kind of trick to hide his arm.

"Lost it at work. Prosthetic is a pain, so I let it like this. I'm not bothered one bit"

He was scratching the back of his head. Leo has a habit of doing this when he's lying and Annie knew about this habit of him.

'I don't know why he's lying or what his real feelings are. I wish you would tell me'

"Did it hurt? When it was cut off?"

It was natural for Neil to ask. He has the same work as Leo, asking if it hurts was not weird, really.

"Well, yeah. It stings at first, but it was a clean cut, so, it did not hurt that much"

"Okay, okay, what are standing here for? Aren't we going?"

"Hahaha! Let's go!"

"Yeah"

They went to Yakimix, an all you can eat buffet restaurant that serves different Japanese cuisines.

"Leo you were really cool back there! I didn't expected to see you like that! You were like a wimpy little kid months ago!"

Neil was loud, enough for the whole customers to hear what he was saying. Good thing, he did not pointed it out specifically.

"Shhh! I'm keeping a low profile, Neil. I can't afford paparazzi following me or roaming around my house"

Neil hushed himself down. He noticed that he was bothering the other customers who were eating their lunch.

There were a lot of food on their table. Different types of dishes and their drinks, it's alcohol. Leo had lost interest in getting drunk when he knew that he could not have a taste of alcohol. It was being detoxified every time he tried to drink.

Alcohol's included at the menu they paid for. It would be a waste to not drink it. So, he took the bottle and drink it like it was water.

"Ohhh! What a heavy drinker! Gulping that in one go! Whoo! Here I go!"

After him was Neil. He looks a bit drunk. Leo remembered that Neil could not hold his beer.

'This is... I can taste it? It's not getting detoxified anymore!?'

There was no notification that reminds him of what the system was doing.

He opened another bottle upon learning that he can get drunk.

"Neil and I, the two of us had no contact with you ever since we hunt together. A lot of things must have happened to you in that short span of time"

'Hmm? Is the alcohol effecting already? After just one bottle? For some reason, Annie looks kinda cute today. No, she's always been. I was not properly looking at her. I always had my head down, those time I am with these two'

Leo was stopped eating or drinking. He was just staring blankly at Annie.

"Wh-what? Is there something on my face?"

He came back to his senses and shook his head.

"You're using make up?"

'He noticed? Although it's just some what was it powder?'

"N-no! Why do you ask?"

"Nada, it's just that you look cute this time"

She was slightly blushing.

'C-cute? Me? Wait, he said this time'

"So, what you're saying is I'm ugly all this time!?"

She was trying to hide her hoity-toity.

'I forgot! I forgot to remember that I should not said a half-ass compliment. But it wasn't half-assed or anything and I meant it. Ugh! Really, girls are so difficult to understand!'

"No, no, no! That's not what I mean. You're beautiful and umm, uh, you look more beautiful today, really. Wait! Why am I trying to explain things here!"

"I'm here you know"

"..."

That conversation gone longer than what he expected.

'Haa! I'm not gonna compliment anyone anymore, really, I promise this! Complimenting them makes me bad'

It was quarter to 2 when they decided to part ways. After eating, they hit the karaoke to sober up and to have a change of pace.

Neil was fast asleep. He was being carried by the two of them. They stopped to call for a taxi.

"I had fun. We should do this kind of thing again, just the two of us. Also, just like what old Neil here said, you're really cool when I saw you at the television. You look really different now, did you get taller again?"

'I just measured my height before going out. Did she just ask me for a date? Ahh... how could I make her do the first move. Such a dense person I am'

Leo was the one who invited Neil when Annie called her for a lunch. She did not mention Neil when she invited Leo. So, the thought that she wanted to be alone with him, crossed to his mind.

"Yeah. I'm 6 foot 2 inches tall now. And about your invitation, sure, let's have a date"

The taxi was there. Leo helped her to slip Neil inside the taxi. She was left speechless when he mentioned that it will be a date.

"Be seeing you"

Still had no reply for her. The taxi driver was asking where their destination is but she was not responding to him too, so, Leo answered the driver, instead of her and told him where the two would be going.

'Now, it's just me. I still have a lot of time till the meeting with the chairman. I was away for a month, I'm missing the arcades'

Leo went to a nearby mall, a few minutes away from where he was. He had three bottles of beer and he's still feeling full.

He went inside and looked for the arcade. Video games, cranes, basketball, there's so many varieties of games inside the World of Fun.

He exchanged his 10 dollars into 100 tokens.

'Hmm, where should I begin first? This!'

He chose to play a fighting video game where two players can challenge each other. There was another player on the other side, so he challenges the player and had a fight.

Three minutes fight, two wins needed. It was not that long, but Leo's already lost.

"I lost my touch. Let's play one more"

He said to the other player, who was silently playing the game. It did not bother replying to him and just continued on.

Leo could not see the other player even if he tried to lean to the side. It was swarmed with other people who were watching.

'20 consecutive wins against other players. This one's really good, but not with my little Blanka'

The match began, so is the mutterings of the spectators. Leo got the first hit, dealing a half HP damage using his favorite combo. Getting the first hit's like a momentum, an advantage for your win.

With just a little bit of repeated cheating attacks, Leo won the first round.

"Woah! Instense!"

Some of the spectators chose to root for his win leaving the other side and going to his side.

'Rejoice all you want, I'll still beat you! I am Scarlett, the Queen. I won't let some repeated tricks beat my 20 wins streak!'

The round 2 begins. Scarlett went aggro this time, and did not thought of guarding or blocking Leo's attack. Her tactics, it threw Leo off a bit, gaining the round.

The spectators starts getting noisy. They were rooting for both and even having a bets on who will win the last round.

The last round begin. Scarlett was using, Vega whilst Leo was still using his favorite, Blanka.

They were being careful not to give their opponent the first hit. Leo was protecting himself from the quick, flexible and agile Vega, using Blanka's electricity, surrounding his body. However, there's a delay on how fast he could do it again or attack. Scarlett was aiming for that, she attacked after Leo used that strategy. Unluckily, Leo was able to guard her attack and he gets the first hit.

"Amazing! No one's giving in!"

Their fight continued with just spamming.

Spamming their characters' skill and blocking after that. Patience is the key, the first one to lose patience will lose. But of course, it still depends on how good you are at playing games even if you're losing your temper.

Scarlett lose patience and went aggressive. Leo smirked when she suddenly attack when she fully knows, that she won't reach him.

She was attacked instead, losing almost 75% of her HP. Her special skill gauge was full, she just need to wait for an opening. But the time's running out, Leo still have about 50% HP left, compared to her.

Leo was just guarding, his gauge was full too. He wants to end it in a spectacular way, a finishing move, using his special skill.

30 seconds left. Scarlett shorten the gap between them and attack the guarding Leo. She was punching and punching, so Leo went for the foot and tried to trip her character, but failed to do so. That's she was waiting, she jumped and punch, then when she landed, she used the special skill. It miraculously hit and dealt about 40% damage to his HP.

10 seconds left and Leo'a life was down to 7%. He was not guarding after that last skill. This made Scarlett thought that Leo was giving up and approached him.

5 seconds and she was using her skills to moved around and then, she went for the finishing touch.

The crowds were being loud, they were bothering the other customer but, they didn't mind what the others were saying.

'Hehe, got you!'

"Oh, no!"

Waiting for her to finish it, Leo answered her attack with his special skill. It will be effective because it is considered as 'special'. What good is there to it, if the name was just for show.

Blanka's ultra skill, Lightning Cannonball. She lost all her HP whilst Leo was left with 2%.

"Whoo! Superb! You're so good, mister! You beat her win streak!"

Leo was gonna leave when Scarlett blocked his way.

'Hmm? Is she my opponent? Where have I seen her? Ahh! Isn't she an S rank hunter? She must be here to congratulate me and show sportsmanship'

"That, that fight was really intense, my heart's beating so fast. You're really good, miss"

'Ahhhh, I'm not really good at dealing with girls. Again, I complimented a woman. I just hope that it does not backfired. I mean what I said, she's really good. She just lose patience'

"That was not your win, you played dirty! I won't let this, you just ruined my win streaks! Let's have another round, it's a 1:1, so let's settle this!"

'And here I thought that she was happy with the results'

"Look here, miss, I've got to go and play other games. Bye, that fight was really good"

Leo turned his back and made haste. She didn't stopped ranting and she even followed him. She was being persistent, she don't remember who Leo is.

"Miss, you're embarrassing me and yourself. So, please stop"

Leo was playing the crane games. He couldn't focus on what he was doing because of her and lost about 10 tokens already.

"You're aiming for the body that is wrong. Aim for the head, it will be easy! Argh! I can't believe you!"

She even gave an advice, despite the situation. Leo did what she said and he manages to caught one.

'I hope that this will shut her mouth'

Leo, holding the kitty cat, he gave it to her and watched her reaction.

"What's this!? You're giving this to me!? No, this won't do! I need a rematch!"

That didn't do, but she didn't tried to give it back. Leo kept going and spent all of his remaining tokens to catch more. He caught about 10 of them, whilst he lost 36 tokens.

'I don't know what the twins like, but this should do. Mmm-mmm"

It was 4 PM and time to meet the Chairman. He left Scarlett behind, but she was still following him.

'Are you for real!? She's still not over it!?'

Leo rode a taxi, so was Scarlett.

"Follow that taxi!"
