Outcast Hunter

The taxi's engine revved up and they followed the other taxi, Leo was riding.

"Just you wait! Ugh!"

Irritation's all over her face.

Leo arrived at Chairman Daniel's place. He's at the 12th floor, waiting for his arrival, along with the others.

Scarlett's quickly told the driver to pull over.

'Isn't this place... the Chairman's!? Why is he here? No, this could be a coincidence! Right! Wait, he's going in! I'm already here, might as well visit the Chairman'.

Leo entered the hotel and rode an elevator, up to the 12th floor. Scarlett, she waited for another elevator and went to the same floor as Leo.

'I'm sure of it now! He's really going to meet the Chairman!'

"Hunter Leo, you've arrived. This way please"

Secretary Cristina led the way to where the others are. It was a special room, specially custom made. A 30 square meter room, equipped with 24 hour CCTV cameras and an alarm. The room's also soundproof and the wall's made from the hardest rock. This is where the Chairman stores and preserves all of his equipments, things that are precious for him in the past.

There's a buffet and there, the others were impatiently waiting for him.

"M-master Leo!" Hazel rose and rushed to his side. But, was blocked by someone.

He was kneeling in front of him. It was a reflex, his body moved on its own, as he saw and felt Leo's presence.

"Your Excellency, you've brought me back to life, I'm very grateful of that. Allow me to show my respects and let this humble man, serves you until your last breath"

'Is this the side effect of the skill or he's just always been like this?

The others are not that surprised to see Jun, kneeling in front of Leo. They were told and had already know the situation.

"Stand up, I'm not used to this kind of treatment and just call me Leo. There's really no reason for you to call me 'Your Excellency', I just resurrected you"

Jun stood up and stared into Leo's eye.

"I can't do that, your Excellency. It's like, I am programmed to do and say these things, when Excellency brought me back. At first, it was my own body, who moves and knelt, but then, I instantly knew that, you're the one. I am feeling a connection, your Excellency, it must be because of soul, that is inside of the Excellency"

'So, it's like that huh. For now, let's here what the Chairman will say'

He's taken his seat, in his both side's the twin. Hazel seemed to have been back to her old self, but Maeve told him that she would sometimes hit the switch and turned all shitty.

"Oh, right, I got this for you two. Choose what you like"

He first let the twins choose what stuff toys they like. There's different types and they chose a lion and a snake stuff toys.

"This resembles like, master Leo"

Hitting her head must have cured her stuttering behaviour. Maeve chose the snake one to have something like them.

"I'm sorry, if it's just some toys. I don't know what you two like"

"This is more than enough, I think. Hiss"

He felt a chill runs down his spine. Someone's glaring dagger at him, and it's Khione.

"Of course, of course, I wouldn't forgot you, here take one"

She stood and picked a kitty cat, the same as Scarlett's.

"Thanks, although this is cheap, I'm still grateful that you're thoughtful"

Lilith won't let the others take the others for themselves. She stood up, and also picked her stuff toy. It's a teddy bear, the usual stuff.

"I haven't properly thank, mister Leo, for reviving my brother. Allow me to be by your side too"

'Aren't they gonna go back to their homeland? I think I'm stuck with troubles'

"O-okay"

"Aren't you gonna get your stuff too, Ruhan? Look, there's still some more left and there's a dog, your favorite pet"

Drago muttered to Ruhan's ear. She seemed pissed and annoyed by what he said, but she seemed to be holding back.

"What are you saying!? I don't care about that stuff!"

It may be because of his senses, reaching 200+ stat points. It was like, for Leo, he heard it loud and clear, what the two were talking about.

"If you'd like, you can have this"

Chairman Daniel was patiently watching the others.

"I-if you insist then..."

Her eyes were sparkling as she took the stuff toy out of Leo's hands. She put it on her lap and was lightly caressing the stuff toy.

"Okay, all of the foods' here! Let's have a feast!"

Taking different types of food on their plates, Leo get what he think's the most delicious of them all.

"This is so delicious!"

Chicken and fish fillet became the twins favorite.

Scarlett, who was outside for a while, has been lingering, and wondering, what and who could he be, to have a private talk with the Chairman, and inside his secret room, at that.

She couldn't hear anything on inside, even if she tried her hard.

"Oh, Ms. Secretary I think, Ms. S ranker's outside right now, she followed me here"

Leo informed Cristina of who' outside at that moment. She was surprised to hear that and rushed outside of the room to take her in, as the Chairman said so.

Cristina opened the door, she was leaning on it so, she fell down to the floor after opening it.

'It's really her. But, why is she following Hunter Leo around?'

"Ow, ow, you should have knock, so that I will know that you're going to open it, Secretary Cristina"

She stood up and cleaned her clothes out of dust.

The thought just hit her. She remembers it completely now. Who's she followed and why he's here.

"You're the one that fought the Demon Lord!"

'She just remembers. She was really focused on having a rematch'

"Now, now, come and take a seat too. Eat with us"

She can't refuse the Chairman's offer. She sat down and get her own plate and picked her food.

They were done eating and were resting before going to the main topic, why they are all gathered.

Secretary Cristina accompanied Scarlett Queen to another room and explained things to her. She understood and quietly followed the Secretary.

The atmosphere between them had gone quiet and they were staring at each others. The twins won't leave Leo's side, locking arms with him.

"Maeve, you hate this kind of thing, right?"

Leo asked and confirmed it to her.

She shook her head and said, "Not really, hiss"

"Master Leo, she's just being shy at first, but she's a really sweet girl"

Hazel's not stuttering anymore. Her words' more clearer than usual.

"Hazel!?"

She smiled at Maeve as she tightened her locking arms.

The Chairman sat down with them. It's like, they were in a living room, sitting on th sofa.

"Time for the main topic"

They all straigthened up and relaxed.

"Hunter Leo, you must have knew who I am and what we are going to do"

'I'm feeling it, there's something inside him. The same thing with Abaddon. My senses becoming more sensitive, it hurts when I breath'

He cleared his thoughts and calmed himself down, for he has many things to ask. This was not his real purpose, at first, but as he gets close to this hotel, the presence of something terrifying's crawled up to his spine. He could distinguished the Chairman, as something different from the others. He's not just some middle-aged looking adult, but also the strongest inside that room.

"Since the others here will be your, what do you want to call them, underlings? Fellows? Company? Comrades? They will be following you from now on. That's the purpose why they are here, to serve you. Fate had already set the stage for you"

The others were already told, so it isn't hard for them to understands what the Chairman's saying.

"Hmm, please continue. I want to know it all, I don't want to be left in the dark"

Leo made a serious face. He really does want to know the truth.

"Abaddon must have told you, some information. But, let's start at the very beginning"

Secretary Cristina offered them something to drink. The chairman took his coffee and had a sip.

"There was a lone God, we called him 'The Creator'. Well, he made us all. He has the knowledge and the strength, what normal being could not have. He was creative and likes thrilling games. That's when he created the first 12 of us and called us 'The Protectors' he then created the things that should be protected. Humans, animals, nature. All of his creation. From the littlest thing to the biggest and most important of them all. After that, the Creator, made the other 12, who will be 'the Destroyers'. He made us exactly how He's made. The battle goes on and many lives had perished. We came up with the idea of sharing our power to the humans and other races. That's when the Hunters were created, to fight the Destroyers' army"

'So, their power is borrowed'

"Was it millions or billions of years, I wonder? The first one to win the game was the Destroyers. The souls of the dead have nowhere to go and no one's taking care of them. So He came up with another idea of his and created 'Death' at first it was just the grim reapers, but because of many living creatures being dead, they can't clean the mess. He also made the six realms of Samsara, that is to bring rebirth to the dead and he grants you the skill to bring anyone back to life, however, it has its own condition. The last man standing was Azazel, he was a Protector that became a Destroyer"

'So, basically, a traitor'

"Azazel, he collected all 24 Graces and made his wish. He wished for more power, power that could rival, even God. Of course, God would not grants his wished, as He knows what Azazel was thinking. Instead, He gave him another Grace, before all of the past restarts. We were born, again, standing on the same ground as the others. The second bout had began and in the end we were able to beat Azazel, because of one of the Destroyers who changed sides, just like what he did"

'He deserves that'

"I was the last one standing, that time, Death was already made, but he chose to remain neutral and just took care of the souls. I made a wish, it was a power that I can share more with the humans. Granting them the title of S rank, who reached a certain level. Then the third, forth, fifth and so on bout ended with just Death left standing. He was captivated by the power he could get by collecting all of the Grace. He was convinced by the Destroyers' side and brought forth destruction. Death was the most powerful among us 24 creation. I

Death has the power to rival us all 24 and he used that power for destruction, for chaos. All of them had fall into the hands of evil. The being who should be maintaining balance, had destroyed and tampers with it"

'That's a long explanation'

"I think, that's the gist of it. I'm sorry if my explanation's a bit boring or non-exciting. If you're wondering what you should do, you should go and meet the previous Death"

'The previous? He's still alive?

"He's somewhere far. But, I could take you to him. Although, it might take you a few weeks to get back. But don't worry it is for your own good"

'For my own good?'

Mixed thoughts crossed his mind, whilst the other informations had not still sink in. He's still have his own questions he wants to ask.

"But where is this Creator now?"

The Chairman had finished his coffee by the time he finished his story. Secretary Cristina cleaned the table for them and brought some snacks.

"Who knows where He is. He'll just pop in when someone collected all 24 Graces. The Destroyers' side had accumulated 7 Graces. They became pretty active lately and two of them happens to be in the hands of the Vampires' lord"

The siblings were silent but fear can be sensed from them. They know how cruel and brutal, the Vampire Lord is, having been witnessed countless lives, fall into his hands.

"You will meet the previous Death, have a talk with him and go back for the Hunters' World Tournament"

'World Tournament!? Isn't that where all of the best hunters' from each countries fight!?'

"I was convincing him that I would participate to this World Tournament, but he won't"

Drago has been nagging the Chairman to let him be the one participating, not Leo.

"You really like fighting huh?"

Leo said. He know how strong Drago is and he know he's capable of something big. And there's Zest, he's still a mystery for Leo and the others except the two.

"You will be going to meet the Death, after 7 days and go back here before the Tournament starts"

"Okay, let's go!"
