Chapter 71 - That Woman

"That woman?" Dominic repeated hoping to get a more detailed answer, but Memoline had already left the tent.

"That woman…" He repeated as he walked back to his desk. 'Who is that woman?' he pondered, 'am I supposed to know her? And the debt…' He scratched his hair wildly as none of the words Memoline had stated seemed to make no sense.

"Why do they speak in parables?" Dominic groaned, "do they think I have enough mental power to read between the lines in the midst of all this?" He looked through the cut again and sighed. 'At least this was going to end soon…' he thought to himself.

He had spent months in battle and the mental plus physical stress was catching up to him. To think that there would be this huge celebration waiting for him at home...where in the world was he going to get enough energy to hold a large party for the entire kingdom? The mere thought of it made his head spin.

All this king's duty was really starting to wear him down. The duties he used to dream about as a kid had become so real in a couple of months and the next thing he knew he was on a battlefield leading 200,000 plus people. If he weren't so caught up in the adrenaline rush of everything that happened, he would have knocked out in the first month for battle. He had never seen ruling as a pleasure or easy thing, but he had thought he would have everything under control, under all of the great ruler facades he put up, he was stressing over the next move to make, the right people to trust, how to look after 200,000 plus people and now a village.

The fact that his father had done this all at an age younger than him… was outstanding...terrifying even. Except for the fact that he didn't go into war even before the crown was officially put on his head, he had trained in martial arts, beat the nation's masters of chess in chess, fought the army's best soldiers and won, and got married, all while taking care of an entire kingdom. Dominic groaned. Was he even good enough to be in this bloodline? All he wanted was his comfy bed and a nice warm smile from someone.

Now that he was thinking about it… everything seemed so out of place, and it didn't seem like he could fix it. He hadn't gotten the chance to fully mourn the death of his father, got poisoned by some girl he was supposed to marry, almost got killed 10 times per day in battle… how the hell was he even standing? He knew it was selfish, but he wanted to run away, back to the palace, and just hide away from all these duties… he just wanted to be free again… to sle- Dominic's head fell back and landed softly on the headrest of his chair. His body went limp, and eyes shut calmly, he had fallen asleep.

The stress of thinking about everything collectively was so much that it put him to sleep immediately. But he had time to think about it later as he didn't know how long he would be in this field.. Until everyone in the army had been healed to the best or least they could, he would just ignore his issues and keep pushing forward for them.
