Chapter 97 - Think

"That's good then, but that can't be it, for a village to survive there had to be a few more things that happened," Axel shook his head, turning to Desilva with a questioning gaze.

"You're right that wasn't it," Desilva chuckled, her bright eyes drooping momentarily before looking back up with a brave smile, "but that's a story for another day. I'm sure you have enough information from what I have said and seeing as I'm still alive, it worked."

Feline eyed Desilva for a moment before letting out a long sigh, "ok then, well we already have an issue in the explanation."

"An issue?" Litian muttered, her ability to keep up with the conversation slowly decreasing. The tension stares exchanged between everyone in the room was enough to throw her off.

"Yes," Axel nodded, "Desilva's situation was approached cleverly, considering the amount of loss they had just faced. Their small numbers allowed them to be able to build something that can house all of them through the winter and also allowed them to be able to cook enough for their small numbers, but we don't have the advantage in small numbers."

"Right, we are currently in a big group of over 500 thousand people and that number might change depending on the resources that are sent to us in the next five days," Feline added, taking a sip of her tea again.

"That's true, the monthly supply of aid is supposed to be on the 10th right?" Litian nodded, "depending on the things that they send, we might have more mouths to feed or more things to feed them with."

"Hopefully it's the latter," Dominic muttered, his eyebrows furrowing in concern, "I know it will be the latter."

Everyone locked stares on him, each having their own perception forming in their mind, but Axel's gaze shone the brightest.

'He knows? Does he trust that person that much?' Axel's eyes grew darker, he looked away and turned back to the others, 'does he trust in me that much too?'

"Well we don't enough time to bet on that, but we can make the meeting with the elders happen on the same day the help comes in, that way we can make our decision on what to say to them depending on the results we get from the supply," Feline sighed, placing down her teacup lightly. 'It's a bi-'

"-big risk though," Axel muttered, "that would mean leaving all of our planning to that day and that may not be the smartest of decisions."

Feline flinched, shooting a stare of frustration at Axel, 'he's a mind-reader now?' she thought to herself.

Axel caught her glare but brushed it off, continuing with his explanation, "I would rather we come up with a vague but certain decision on how to approach the upcoming months now and then using the results on the 10th adjust our plans in a way that accustoms that."

"I agree," Feline nodded. Though she had agreed on something with Axel, the shadow of a scowl on her face didn't ease up, "in the end we can only hope that whatever we come up with and whatever comes from the kingdom allows us to put that into action."

"And what is our plan exactly?" Litian asked. She was unsure if she had missed an explanation of the plans while she was being amused at the hostile stares Feline shot at Axel. "With our large number, we're going to need to do something that's on a bigger scale than what Desilva's village did since we have more numbers to be able to complete that. The way they handled the food and people would be done the same way I'm guessing, but we don't have a building big enough to squeeze the population of our camp into."

"So for one, getting the food ready is one task, healing the people in the camp is another that will most likely continue all the way into winter and building a place to stay," Desilva summarized, listing all the things she knew so she was able to think clearer, "All of the women in our village are good cooks and I'm sure with the cooks that are from your kingdom, we should be able to come up with food the eat."

"The issue there is picking the right people in charge and the lack of resources. There might be conflict in what to cook with what we have right now and remembering to cook something that will last a long time is also an issue," Axel added.

"The women at my village know how to do that, they have been cooking through winters after all," Desilva commented. "Maybe we can have your cooks focus on finding nutritious ingredients and my cooks finding the best ways to use them in a way that saves food?" she suggested.

"That sounds good," Dominic nodded, agreeing with Desiva's suggestion.

"But then there's the issue of healing the hurt people in the camp right now," Litian sighed, leaning into her seat.

"That issue is being taken care of right now, right?" Dominic grinned turning to Axel and Desilva.

"What?" Axel asked, cocking his head in confusion.

Dominic ignored his stance and turned back to the confused Feline and Litian, "I asked them earlier to get me a list of all the physicians they know and then write down their skills, experience, and some downfalls," Dominic explained, "I'm going to divide the soldiers that are hurt right now into different groups, the lightly injured, heavily injured, life or death situation and mental damage. Using the list of physicians, I am going to assign the physicians to look after the soldiers categorized into those groups. That way the physicians can use their specialties to the best of their abilities and get more work done. It might even cut down the line of patients if some medics are fast workers."

Dominic gave out a bright smile, "was that a good decision?"

No one able to reply, let alone look at the bright rays of sunshine Dominic projected with just a simple smile.

'So that was what he was going for?' Axel pondered.. He stared at Dominic blankly for a moment before his face eased into a smile, 'How clever, nicely done your highness.'
