Pokemon Pearl

Chapter 13 - 13 - Wesley of Muñoz

Meanwhile, back at the train heading for Muñoz, Rico was reading a paperback novel about Sir Aaron and his Lucario, the pair who had died back at the Hoenn Region. Rico then became emotional, shedding a few tears as he read the part where Sir Aaron died. He done this while listening to piano music without lyrics in his smartphone. Then, after 18 minutes, the train arrived at Muñoz Town. And as the train doors open, Rico called his Riolu back to its Pokeball, stand up, put his belongings back to his shoulder bag, grabbed it, and get off the train. After passing the security gates, Rico exited the station via the main entrance.

The town of Muñoz is small, only having around 15,000 people, but it is a European-style, peaceful one. The buildings are only a few stories high, and are scattered across the hilly-plain terrain filled with green grass, shrubs, and trees. The people, however, are very nice and friendly, and are cooperate to each other in everyday life. There are two rivers that run across the town, and can be crossed via wooden and concrete bridges. The streets are paved, usually like a cobblestone path from the 1900s, and are lined with metal light posts. Also, there are highways running across the island, both dirt, trainers' path and concrete, vehicles' road, and also, roads that connected the town to other parts of the island. There are small farms and mills placed outside of town, mostly grow and produce berries, apples, cotton, and sorts of pastries. There are fields of flowers, of all colors and types, scattered across the town.

Later, as the townspeople buy, sell, and order food and goods at a variety of stalls, Rico see Wesley, a kid with red hair, green and red striped shirt, pale blue pants, and black shoes, and said hi to him. Upon seeing him, Wesley ran to him, and hugged him in embrace.

"Rico!" Wesley exclaimed, "You're here. I missed you so much."

"Yeah, I know right," Rico happily replied.

Later, at Wesley's nice, cottage home in the town, as Wesley's mother, Lisa, gave Rico a glass of water, Wesley asked him, "So, Rico, what brings you here?"

"Well, I'm here to visit you of course," Rico brightly replied as he drinks his glass of water, "And I'm here to tell you that I had my first Pokèmon." Stunned and amazed by this, Wesley responded, "What? First Pokèmon? Show it to me!" In response, Rico called his Riolu out of its Pokeball. Upon seeing Riolu, Wesley was even more amazed, with him commenting, "Wow, a Riolu? That's so cool. How did you caught it? It's so rare."

"Okay, I'll tell you how I caught it," Rico brightly replied; he then told Wesley and Lisa how did he caught Riolu. Minutes later, they were amazed at his story, with Wesley commenting, "Wow, you rescued it? You're a hero, dude."

"Thanks," Rico happily replied.

"Well, that's nice, Rico," Lisa responded.

"But you're not officially a Pokemon trainer unless you have a Pokedex," Wesley responded.

"Nope, I already had one," Rico happily replied as he showed Wesley and Lisa his Philas Pokedex.

"What, you had a Pokedex already?" Wesley replied, "Then you're officially a Pokemon trainer. That's so cool."

"Thanks for your appreciation, Wesley," Rico brightly replied.

Later, as the sun rises in the middle of the day, Rico and Wesley decided to went out to town for a bit. They walked around the town, looked at monuments and historical buildings, buy food and drinks, and even played at a local playground.

An hour later, as they walked together down the street, Wesley asked Rico, "Hey, Rico."

"Yes?" Rico replied while walking.

"Do you remember that I got a Chimchar a month ago?" Wesley asked.

"Well, yes, I do remember it," Rico brightly answered.

"Well, since you had your first Pokèmon," Wesley said while thinking; he then stopped walking, and suggested to Rico, "Let's have a Pokèmon battle. My Chimchar versus your Riolu." Rico, who had stopped walking as a result of Wesley's actions, responded with confidence, "Sure, okay!"

Later, at a field in town, Rico and Wesley had a Pokemon battle, calling their Pokèmon out: Riolu and Chimchar. Upon seeing a new Pokemon, Rico asked, "Who's that Pokemon?" He then looked in his Pokedex; the Pokedex then responded, "Chimchar, the Chimp Pokèmon, a Fire-type Pokèmon. It is very agile. Before going to sleep, it extinguishes the flame on its tail to prevent fires." Upon hearing this information, Rico commented, "Wow, that's so cute;" then to Wesley with confidence, "Okay, let's begin!" Then, as the bell tower rang, their battle had began; Wesley then had his first move, "Alright, Chimchar, use Scratch!" His Chimchar then used Scratch, scratching Riolu with sharp claws, striking it effectively.

"Wow, that's effective," Rico commented to Wesley, "Oh, yeah, how about this!" Then to Riolu in action, "Riolu, use Quick Attack!" Riolu then used Quick Attack, charging towards Chimchar in a fast pace, striking it effectively too.

"Chimchar, quickly, use Ember!" Wesley immediately commanded Chimchar. His Chimchar then used Ember, attacking Riolu with small flames, striking it effectively. But Rico immediately commanded Riolu with coolness, "Quickly, use Counter!" Riolu then used Counter, retaliating a punch-blow, striking Chimchar very effectively. Wesley then was shocked at Riolu's response; and while he was distracted in shock, Rico, in seriousness, immediately commanded Riolu, "Then use Quick Attack!" Riolu then used Quick Attack, charging towards Chimchar in a fast pace, striking it so effective that Chimchar fainted. Upon winning this battle, Rico commented in rejoicing, "Yes, I won!" He then hugged Riolu in embrace and happiness. Calling his Chimchar back, Wesley commented, "Well, even though I got this Chimchar a month ago, but you're already strong. I like it. It's okay I won 3 battles last time." Releasing Riolu from hugging, Rico brightly replied, "Yeah, I know. This is my third battle, and I won."

"Wait, third battle?" Wesley asked in stunning, "That means..."

"we're a...," Rico connected Wesley's sentence.

"a tie!" Rico and Wesley said in the same time; they then laughed about it.

Meanwhile, in an unknown town in an unknown region, a kid, with a Pikachu and a Greninja, was standing on the hills overlooking his hometown in fierce and bravery while the winds crossed their stands. He then said to his Pokèmon, "I sensed that there is trouble in the Philas Region. Let's stop them." In response, his Pokèmon nodded in agreement.
