Pokemon Pearl
Chapter 15 - 15 - Trevor of the Tahod Region
After they finished their meal, Rico and Wesley pack up, and go back to Wesley's house in Muñoz Town. After returning the picnic basket, blanket, and dining ware, Rico and Wesley decided to go out one more time, before Rico take a train home. Later at 5:16 p.m., as Rico is about to enter the train station, Wesley said to him, "I'll see you again soon!"
"Bye!" Rico happily replied upon hearing it, "And thanks for everything!" He then turned back and kept going to the station as Wesley and Lisa wavered goodbye.
Later, at a train back to Kawayan City, Rico was sitting on his train seat, recording the events of that day in his blue and orange, hardcover journal notebook. His Riolu, which was out of its Pokeball and was sitting next to Rico, then leaned next to him. Rico, in return, then placed his arm around Riolu and hugged it in embrace as the sun rays crossed through the train windows.
The land right of the train tracks, however, was filled with rice and berry fields, houses scattered across the green countryside, and kids playing with their Pokèmon, wild and starter. The grown-ups are harvesting and planting rice and berries, picking apricots and apples from orchards, doing housework, cooking in stoves, modern and traditional, and conducting business and conversations.
Meanwhile, in the same time, a kid from an unknown region called Kanto came to Komati City, the capital city of the Philas Region and the seat of the Philas League. And as that kid was standing in the middle of the airport terminal, he smiled and said to himself, "Let's do this." He is also known as 'Blue Ninja' by the people of Alola, Tahod, and Kanto.
In the meantime, Rico arrived at Kawayan City at around 7:01p.m., and once exiting the station with his shoulder bag and his Pokèmon in their Pokeballs, he then took a taxi to his house. Once arrived at his house, Rico opened the front gate, which is open for him, and then the front door using the keys hidden under a house plant to prevent theft. Inside the house, Rico put his shoulder bag and his Pokèmon on a coffee table and lie down on the sofa in exhaustion.
"Man, what a long day," Rico said to himself in exhaustion, "I got a bonding time with Wesley, discovered new Pokemon, and even caught one. Well, worth the trip."
Minutes later, someone was knocking at the gate. When Rico open it, the man was Detective Trevor, the one Rico seen him at the food fair back at the Soratas Meadows four days ago. Rico was stunned, so stunning that he got scared and fell backwards.
"Hey, kid," Trevor asked, "Are you okay?" Getting up, Rico answered, "Yes, sir. Who are you? What are you doing here? How did you know my address?" Showing his detective's I.D., Trevor responded, "I'm Detective Trevor from the Tahod Region. I'm here to investigate about the Pokèmon Pinchers from the Oblivia Region. And I asked a Pokèmon Professor named Campillo Nester where you live."
"Oh, yeah, Campillo," Rico replied, "Wait, do you know these Pokèmon Pinchers?"
"That's right, kid," Trevor seriously answered.
"Oh, you mean this?" Rico asked; he then ran back inside the house to get his drawing book. Seeing Rico's colorful drawing of the Pokèmon Pinchers, Trevor responded, "Exactly, these are the exact Pokèmon thieves witnessed at the Tahod Region. Do you know them?"
"Yes, they were the ones who tried to capture a Riolu," Rico replied, "My ever first Pokèmon." Stunned, Trevor commented, "Wow, a rare Fighting-Type Pokemon. That's good, you are now a Pokèmon trainer, kid."
"Yes, I am," Rico brightly replied, "By the way, I'm Rico Cruz actually;" he then offered Trevor a handshake. Accepting it, Trevor briefly responded, "I'm Detective Trevor from the Tahod Region." Then, after a short silence, Rico, holding his drawing book, asked Trevor, "So, it's getting late. You wanna stay in my house tonight?"
"No thanks, Rico," Trevor denied," I already booked a hotel here. I just came here to ask you if you knew these Pokèmon thieves. If you need anything, just call me with this number;" he then gave Rico his phone number. Accepting it, Rico brightly replied, "Thank you, Detective Trevor."
"You're welcome," Trevor brightly replied, "Well, I have some detective work to do. I'll see you again soon. Bye;" he then left Rico's property as Rico wavered goodbye. He then shut the gate. And so, Rico made a new friend, this time a detective from the Tahod Region.
