Pokemon Pearl
Chapter 27 - 27 - Pokémon Items Bonanza
The next day, after some early Pokémon training, Rico walked to a city museum to search some knowledge. There, after paying the fee, Rico walked to a Pokémon historical exhibit. He looked at ancient Pokémon fossils of various kinds. Two was an Aerodactyl and a Omanyte, both ancient Pokémon from the Stone Age.
"Wow, those are so cool," Rico commented in amazement as he glanced at their remains sealed in a glass box. He then moved on to Arceus' section, only to come across an ancient scroll, made from parchment written with ancient ink.
"Wow, that is one of the Scrolls of Arceus," Rico thought in amazement, "The language of the Unown, the Pokémon looked like letters. They're great at inscribing letters onto the vellum surface. I knew this language before." Rico had learned and mastered the Alpha language, the language of the Scrolls of Arceus and the ancient times when he attended language classes and discovered one of the Scrolls of Arceus washed ashore at his hometown. He also found out how his home region was created, and used to be part of the Sinnoh Region, before being separated by water. After an hour, Rico left the museum and bound for the mall by foot. Meanwhile, in the same time, Red Eye and his team are plotting a raid and theft in a Pokèmart at the city's largest mall. They wanted to steal them, so they could sell them and make a profit.
In the mall, Rico walked to a large Pokèmart. There he called all of his Pokémon, and let them wander the place. They looked at Pokèmon items available, for beginners and experts. After some time, Riolu pointed towards a Soothe Bell for 250 Pokedollars.
"What is it, Riolu?" Rico asked it.
"Riolu, Ri, Riolu," Riolu responded while pointing towards the bell.
"You want that?" Rico replied. Riolu then nodded in response. When Rico is about to get his wallet, Lunick and Ben, with their Chimchar and Pichu, came to him, and greeted him.
"Oh, hi there, guys," Rico greeted them back upon seeing them; he then put back his wallet in his shoulder bag.
"Sorry, Riolu, maybe later," Rico made an excuse to Riolu. Riolu then was silent.
"You might need a tour of this place," Ben retorted while crossing his arms.
"Well, I do," Rico replied while scratching his head, "Yes, I needed it, now."
"Okay!" Lunick retorted in enthusiasm, "Let's go around and check items." He and Ben then walked away; Rico and his Pokèmon then followed them.
Walking around the building, Ben and Lunick showed Rico items and explained about them, their purposes, and uses, as Rico noted them in his small, twin-ring binded, notebook. At the Potions Section, Rico knew that potions are varied by size depending on how much health a Pokémon needed. At the Healing Section, Rico looked at items used to heal Pokèmon, but didn't buy some because he had already in stock of them.
Minutes after, they arrived at the Pokémon-held Items Section. They all glanced at the amazing products available, everything from Pokédolls from Leftovers. The prices are varied from 50 Pokedollars to 2,500 Pokedollars.
"Woah, why Leftovers are so expensive?" Ben asked in stunning.
"I don't know," Rico retorted in sarcasm, "Because they came from trash cans and dumps?" He and his group then laughed about it.
After that, they arrived at the Stones Section, a section of evolution.
"Wow, these are evolution stones," Rico commented enthusiastically while glancing at the shiny stones, "I hope I could evolve some of my Pokémon." But his enthusiasm faded when looked at their prices: 1,500 -2,000 Pokedollars each depending what type.
"And...I have to shell more money for that," Rico commented in mild disappointment, "Great." Riolu and Piplup them commented in plain.
"Yes of course," Ben replied him in response, "Since they're a bit rare, and only most Pokémon can be evolved with that."
"Yup," Lunick added. His Chimchar then responded in semi-happiness.
"Yeah, you're right," Rico replied while scratching his head. He and his group then proceeded to the Megastone and Mega Keystone Section. The selections are amazing, from Lucario Megastones to Charizard X Megastones. But they're much expensive than the evolution stones.
"Wow, these are much precious and expensive," Ben commented in amazement.
"You can tell by their shiny ŀuster," Rico added in amazement. Their Pichu and Riolu then commented in amazement.
Just then, Campillo and his Pokémon, Emolga, an Electric and Flying-type, came to them and greeted them.
"Oh, hi there, Professor," Rico greeted him back upon seeing him. Lunick and Ben then greeted Campillo in response.
"So, are you looking for some stones?" Campillo asked them as he readjust his glasses.
"No, we're just here to look," Ben answered him in positivity. Upon seeing a new Pokémon, Rico asked him, "Who's that Pokémon?"
"Oh, this is Emolga," Campillo responded. His Emolga then responded with happiness. In response, Rico checked in his Pokédex; his Pokédex then responded, "Emolga, the sky squirrel Pokémon. An Electric and Flying-type. The energy made in its cheeks' electric pouches is stored inside its membranes and released while it is gliding."
"Woah, that's amazing and cute in the same time," Rico calmly commented upon hearing this. Riolu, on Rico's shoulder, then greeted Emolga in friendliness.
"Emo, Emo," Emolga greeted Riolu back while waving its hand.
"So, what items you're going to buy?" Campillo asked them.
"A Soothe Bell for my Riolu," Rico brightly answered.
"Ah, a Soothe Bell, eh?" Campillo retorted, "That's good, a Soothe Bell will increase your Pokémon's happiness and sometimes, it will evolved them much faster."
"Thanks for that information and advice," Rico happily retorted. His Pokémon then responded with happiness. Ben and Lunick then responded a similar comment.
Then, suddenly, someone opened a skylight window and dropped a canister of smoke bomb. Upon seeing it, Ben was alerted and then exclaimed, "Get down!" Everyone in that area get out of the way as that canister exploded, causing a smoke release. The smoke is red as the red explosion in the The Running Man Animation. And as the smoke cleared, Red Eye and his team, on their Z.Z. Flyers descended down as Red Eye laughed like an evil maniac villain. Coughing and clearing the smoke, Rico saw Red Eye, and got furiously angry.
"Argh! Not you again," he responded with anger.
"That's right, meddling kiddo," Red Eye retorted in response.
"Who's that guy?" Lunick asked Rico as he finished clearing the red smoke.
"Is that the Pokémon Pinchers you're talking about?" Campillo added in response.
"Yes, they are one of the teams of Societea, a bad guy," Ben seriously answered them in response. The face off was serious as a cowboy showdown, complete with spectators hiding behind shelves of products.
"So, are you the professor of this region, eh?" Red Eye asked Campillo in style.
"Yes, I am the professor," Campillo see answered. His Emolga then responded in anger and resentment.
"What do you want from us now?" Rico seriously asked Red Eye in demanding.
"We're here to steal Pokémon and Pokémon items so we could sell them and make a profit for our leader," Red Eye responded in retorting and style. His two grunts then get off their Z.Z. Flyers, and start stealing and looting Pokémon and items for Pokémon from people and shelves whilst threatening the people with their powerful gauntlets. They were were wailing and emotional crying. Some kids cry like their candy are being stolen.
"That's illegal!" Ben sharply retorted in response and resentment. His Pichu then responded in anger and resentment. Lunick's Chimchar responded a similar angry response, too.
"Heh, you can't stop us," Red Eye retorted in sharp style. Then to his grunts, "Attack them!" His voice is sharp as a kunai knife. In response, his two grunts finished stashing their loot in two sacks, and called out their Pokémon, 2 Geodudes and 2 Vanillishes. Their Pokémon then stepped into battle in seriousness.
"Who's those Pokémon?" Rico asked in stunning upon seeing new Pokémon.
"These are Geodudes," Campillo answered him, "Kanto Pokémon." In response, Rico checked in his Pokédex; his Pokédex then responded, "Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. A Rock- and Ground-type. It uses its arms to steadily climb steep mountain paths. It swings its fists around if angered."
"Wow, so rocky serious," Rico calmly commented upon hearing this with a pun. He then put his Pokédex back in his shoulder bag, and responded to Red Eye in seriousness, "Oh, yeah, you'll never get away with this!" He then called his Pokémon to battle. His three Pokémon then stepped into battle.
"You too, Chimchar," Lunick commanded his Chimchar. His Chimchar then stepped into battle, and joined with Riolu, Litleo, and Piplup. Campillo then called out his Talonflame, a Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon. His Talonflame then stepped into battle, joining the rest.
"Who's that Pokémon?" Rico asked in stunning upon seeing a new Pokémon. He then checked in his Pokédex; his Pokédex then responded, "Talonflame, the Scorching Pokémon. A Fire- and Flying-type. When attacking prey, it can reach speeds of up to 310 mph. It finishes its prey off with a colossal kick."
"Wow, awesome," Rico calmly commented in a little rising. Then to Riolu in seriousness, "Alright, Riolu, use Focus Blast on Geodude now!" Riolu then used Focus Blast, heightening its mental focus and unleashes its power, striking the two Geodudes very effectively.
"Talonflame, use Flamethrower!" Campillo commanded Talonflame in serious coolness. His Talonflame then used Flamethrower, scorching the two Vanillishes with an intense blast of fire, striking them very effectively. A four opponent Pokémon then collapsed to the floor in intense pain. The attacks are powerful and damage-inflicting.
"Ugh!" Red Eye retorted in furious anger, "You people take advantage of us! Geodude, use Rock Throw!"
"You, too, Geodude!" the female grunt commanded another Geodude in seriousness. Both Geodudes then used Rock Throw, throwing Talonflame with lots of small rocks, striking it very effectively.
"What? It's effective?" Rico commented in stunning upon seeing Geodude's advantage.
"Rocks can target Flying-type," Campillo explained to him.
"Oh, no," Rico replied in slow rising style. Talonflame was weakened to the floor. A few of its feathers shed off.
"Oh, no, are you okay?" Campillo asked it in alert-response.
"Heh, finish that fire bird off," Red Eye retorted in an evil psycho style. Rico, Campillo, and their Pokémon then looked in semi-desperate. And as Red Eye and his grunts watched them losing hope and determination, Lunick, Ben, Chimchar, and Pichu sneaked behind them, and retrieved the two sacks; they then opened then slowly so Red Eye and his grunts would not hear them. But the male grunt heard them a little, and then turned around in alert. Holding the sacks, Ben and Lunick, upon being caught, then smiled at him in nervousness and innocence.
"Look, twerps, what are you doing?" the male grunt retorted in fury. In response, Lunick kicked him in the face, and fled with the two sacks. Pichu then used Thundershock on the male female grunt weakening her. Red Eye was alerted, turning around and got angry.
"Oh, you little kids!" he retorted in rising anger. While he was distracted, Rico commanded Piplup, "Quickly, Piplup, use Water Gun on Geodude!" Piplup jumped high and then used Water Gun, blasting Geodude with a forceful shot of water, striking it effectively; Piplup then landed back in action.
"Riolu, use Focus Blast on that Geodude!" Rico quickly commanded Riolu. Riolu then used Focus Blast on another Geodude, striking it effectively. Red Eye then was alerted and turned around.
"Heh, you're so distracted I could take advantage of you," Rico retorted in style.
"Wow, good strategy, Rico," Campillo commented in interesting.
"Thanks," Rico happily replied. His Pokémon then responded with happiness. Just then, Lunick opened the sacks and spilled all of its contents to the floor, creating a mess. The nearby spectators then ran to retrieve their lost Pokémon and Pokémon items. Stunned by Rico's working strategy, Red Eye was furiously angered.
"Oh, why you little kid!!!" he retorted in rising anger, "Geodudes, use Rock Throw!!!" The two Geodudes then used Rock Throw throwing with lots of small rocks. In desperate of defense, Rico hugged his Pokémon in protecting and defending; but the rock attack was intercepted by Blue Ninja's Greninja's Water Shurikens. Blue Ninja and his two Pokémon are standing on a store shelf. Campillo, Lunick, Ben, and their Pokémon then looked at them in surprise. Red Eye then looked at them in surprise, too. Opening from defending, Rico and his Pokémon looked at their rescue in surprise.
"Is that...," Rico thought as he kept staring at them, ... Blue Ninja?" In response of attacking, Blue Ninja commanded his Pokémon in seriousness, "Greninja, use Water Shuriken! Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" His Pokémon then used Water Shuriken and Thunderbolt, striking Red Eye's Pokémon effectively. Once the attack was commenced, he and his Pokémon then jumped to the floor in action, facing Red Eye and his grunts and defending the people.
"Blue Ninja, is that you?" Rico asked in stunning and a bit slow style. In response, Blue Ninja turned around and responded with style, "Heh, wanna join me to beat these thugs?" Rico nodded in confidence, and he and his Pokémon then stepped into battle, joining Blue Ninja and his Pokémon.
"Unbelievable!" Red Eye retorted in an extremely sharp anger, "You kids should know our goals! Geodudes, use Take Down! And Vanillishes, use Ice Beam!"
"Greninja, use Water Shuriken!" Blue Ninja commanded his Pokémon in serious coolness, "And Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"
"Riolu, use Focus Blast, multiple!" Rico commanded his Pokémon in serious coolness, "Litleo, use Flamethrower, and Piplup, use Water Gun!" Their Pokémon then used Water Shuriken, Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, Flamethrower, and Water Gun, striking the opponent Pokémon so effective it creates a big mix of smoke and dust. As it clears, the opponent Pokémon are defeated and fainted in exhaustion. Stunned by this great and powerful combination of moves, Red Eye was enraged, telling his grunts to call back all of their defeated Pokémon. His grunts did so, calling back their Pokémon.
"We'll get you meddling kids!" Red Eye retorted in shouting and yelling, "You will regret this!!!" His grunts then get on their Z.Z. Flyers, went up to the roof level, and fled the place, along with their admin. After that, the scene remained silent for a few minutes. Then the people who are watching this cheered for them, clapping their hands.
"Woah, that battle was...," Rico calmly commented their battle. Then in a sharp enthusiastic tone, "... awesome and intense! I can't believe I actually involved in a multiple battle!"
"Yeah," Blue Ninja added in style. His Pokémon then responded in happiness.
"Well, this is actually my 17th battle with bad guys," Campillo added in positive coolness. His Pokémon then responded in happiness.
Later at afternoon, outside of the Pokémart, the mall manager thanked Rico, Lunick, Ben, Blue Ninja, and Campillo for foiling Red Eye's plot.
"Thanks!" Rico replied in happiness. Riolu, on Rico's shoulder, then responded with happiness.
"You're welcome, citizen," Blue Ninja replied seriously. His Pikachu then responded in happiness.
"Luckily, we are here," Campillo added. His Emolga then responded in happiness.
"No problem, sir," Ben replied in positivity. His Pichu then responded in happiness.
"Well, kid," the manager said to Rico brightly, "As a reward for your helping, I'll give you a Soothe Bell for free;" he then offered him a Soothe Bell. Stunned by this great offering, Rico responded, "What? Are you serious?" Smiling, the manager replied, "Yes, it's your reward after all." Thinking about this, Rico accepted it; he then attached it around Riolu's neck.
"There you go, Riolu," he happily said to it, "Just as promised."
"Riolu!" Riolu happily responded. Everyone then became happy about it.
