Rebellious Path

Chapter 35 - A Trip to Vlanreist's Grand Dungeon (2)

I only waited for a couple of minutes and the girls left their tents whilst slightly rubbing their eyes and yawning a couple of times signifying that they had rested fully. I just simply smiled as I said, "Good morning! Did you have a good rest?"

They proceeded to walk towards me with a smile hanging out of their mouths as they nodded. Farah, on the other hand, crept up to me and clung on my neck as if she was drunk. Her tail then started to wag as she simply licked my neck a couple of times whilst whispering, "Good morning, dear....", in a deliciously cute monotone voice.

She then stopped clinging unto me and walked towards the girls whilst Elena only giggled as she said, "It seems that Farah really likes you, Riku... I mean, any girl would like you... you're handsome... kind... overall, perfect", I couldn't help but smile widely as I crept up closer to her as I whispered, "So doesn't that mean that you like me as well?"

I only looked at Elena with a charming smile on my face as she blushed red in both excitement and embarrassment. But she didn't seem to deny what I said... in fact, she just nodded... slightly.

I was satisfied with that and could only smirk in that manner. Elanor and Rina seemed to be giggling in the sidelines. I just chuckled slightly as I remembered that I still have the Amulets on my pocket space. 'I think I should probably give it to them, but... I want to test something out with the particular skill that I recently got... I can give it to them after they're done with their business at the grand dungeon.'

I decided to keep the amulets for now... I could probably use [Item Duplicate] on those amulets... If it does work, then that would be of major convenience, cause you don't know when you'll need it. I proceeded to smile as I said to the four beautiful maidens right before me, "Are you hungry? I can cook you know?"

To be honest, I do know how to cook, If I wanted to learn how to cook a certain dish, I would just need to see someone cook it and the skills and techniques needed for that certain type of dish would already be integrated into my mind...

The four widened their eyes in surprise! And what's more, the other three except for Farah, seemed to be fl.u.s.tered as they turned their gazes away with a slightly weak-voiced sentence, "There's actually no need! And... it seems that we are relying on you too much like... like our husband."

[Rina Valfir Affection +5 (92, Close Friends)]

"There's no problem at all... in fact, I'm happy that you are relying on me... just as you said, relying on me like your husband", embarrassment seemed to cover them as their faces flushed even further with what I said, causing me to smile widely at the entertainment right before me.

Now back to the food topic, I certainly did see ingredients at their storage, so I could use that to cook food, so without any further ado, I simply took a deep breath as I grabbed the ingredients and started to cook a simple dish.

Even though it was simple, the four looked extremely happy and started to munch on the food slowly as if they don't ant this moment to end just yet. I could only chuckle as I started eating my own share as well.

Well, the food seemed to disappear in just a span of a couple of minutes, and what made me really happy was their satisfied faces. With a slight smile, I only said, "It seems that you enjoyed the food! I'm glad! Well then, let's head out to Vlanreist's Grand Dungeon..."

The four nodded simultaneously as we did what any person would do, clean up the mess, and rode the carriage. This time I only said, "Farah, I will be sitting inside as I have something to do, is that okay?", Farah only nodded as she let out a beautiful and rarely seen smile which made me really happy. I then proceeded to sit down inside the carriage along with the other three, Elena, Elanor, and Rina.

As soon as I was comfortable, Farah flicked the reins lightly causing the horses to move in a rhythmic passion which was as always, pleasing to the ears. Of course! Who wouldn't like to hear something so rhythmic?

I had a satisfied smile on my face as I leaned back against the carriage and focusing on the one new ability that I recently gained, [Item Duplicate]. My face indeed, became very serious thinking about this because everything was possible and I could only hope for the best.

Though I don't want them to see my present yet so I cast an illusion that was barely distinguishable if it was fake. It seemed too real to be an illusion if I might say so myself. I then proceeded to pull the four items from my pocket space and it glowed brightly upon contact with my hands.

'All right... [Item Duplicate]...', I just thought of the skill as I that was what seemed to be the trigger for using anything with this status thingy which was really convenient and great. At least I don't look like an idiot who chants and then releases incredibly weak magic. Just then, I had flashbacks of the tests at the university I went in and I could only feel sharp pain remembering that scene.

I slightly opened my eyes and the four amulets started to glow in bright light. The light seemed to seep from my hands to the items causing them to be enveloped in no time at all. Then markings and engravings started to appear seemingly signifying a casting of some sort and in a span of a few minutes, the light finally subsided leaving four new amulets that made it look like every single one of those amulets was twins.

I was satisfied with the result, I mean, who wouldn't be? It was successful and there were no problems left whatsoever so I could only be happy. I proceeded to place the items to the pocket space after I observed the duplicates to see if they had the same properties, and it seemed as if there was no difference... no wait, it's not 'as if', but there were no difference at all!

With that out of the way, I simply stopped the illusion I portrayed and relaxed at my seat as I gazed upon the outside. It seemed so peaceful... it seemed like a bliss that shouldn't possibly exist, though, I am extremely thankful that I was able to see it.

I smiled wryly as I turned my gaze at the smiling faces of the four and started to think about what was the reason I was sent here. As long as I could remember, it was something within the lines of, "Defeat the enemy of the world, and you shall succeed", but who was the enemy?

I started to cram my head but without any knowledge, I just gave up on it for now, after we come back from the dungeon, I'll start to browse the book and stuff at the kingdom and learn about what I need to learn.

There was not really that much excitement in our journey and, to be honest, we moved faster than yesterday! Heck, we were almost there. Maybe it was my incapability of being a coachman that we were really slow. Well, there goes my ego.

Then, without even any further notice, we arrived at the dungeon with Farah pulling the reins to stop the horses as she spoke in a quiet manner, "We have arrived."

Seemingly excited for this, I gazed outside right at the guarded entrance of the dungeon to see what the dungeon looked like, or what was so grand about it, and I couldn't help but feel a slight lingering intent of danger hanging around as if ready to strike. It feels like, we must be prepared for anything... This unease I'm feeling... isn't normal.
