Rebellious Path

Chapter 47 - Blacksmith (1)

I was shocked by the speed of the object that was currently on the air, aimed directly towards my head whilst the girls clung unto my arms. I focused my senses into one bit as my expression turned serious as I felt extreme danger from that object. And it doesn't feel normal at all. My eyes turned dead serious as I immediately extended my right hand to catch whatever it was, and a wave of air suddenly blew. It was so incredibly strong that everything started to rumble with the peer pressure.

I looked at what was happening with dead eyes and saw that the item that was thrown at me was a hammer, or perhaps a smithing hammer. It was certainly different from the average hammer as it was instead... bulkier, or perhaps… huge.

But back to the topic. If I hadn't used my full strength, then the situation would've been grave. It seems that a certain woman was coming with a fight at a particular customer.

I was sure that the blacksmith was a woman because the girls talked about her before. The people who were fighting were male and female after all, so it might be possibly her. I could feel… that she was emanating abnormal strength; similar yet distant to mine. I could only look at the girls, who seemed to be quite familiar with the woman.

"Rosette-san!"

It seems that I was right. She was the blacksmith as back at the auction, Elena mentioned that name once. I just looked at her with dead serious eyes as I tried to observe and calculate. Well, I could only sigh as I looked at them calmly, assess the situation as I spoke.

"Who threw this hammer? That was very dangerous; the girls almost got hurt."

The woman, or most probably "Rosette", looked at me with her dark brown eyes that looked as if a piece of zircon that has been polished and refined to look the greatest in its own particular way. Her hair looked brown, and it seems to have a reddish tint unto it.

She just folded her arms as she reverted her gaze from me to the man right in front of her as she clicked her tongue in anger.

"Get out! Say to your boss that he better f.u.c.k himself up! I will never accept that marriage proposal, no matter what!"

"Y-yes!"

The man could only whimper in shame he trembled whilst running away. This was the first time I've ever seen a conflict ever happening, and it seemed to be a quite dramatic one in fact. A marriage proposal, huh… Well, now that I'm here that's never gonna—wait, what the hell am I thinking about.

Rosette then turned her head towards me as she smiled widely as she bowed whilst scratching her head. She then looked at the other girls, and surprise could only cover her face, seeing that I was being drowned by embraces… and by such important people at that.

"I'm very sorry about what happened and… Eh? Princess? The Elven Priestesses, And the Alpha! Why… are you hugging that man?"

Noticing that they were still embracing Riku, their faces couldn't help but turn red, as they started to scramble and panic, trying to let go of him. They didn't want to let go but… doing something like that in public, in their mind… is too embarrassing! They just blushed ever further thinking about it.

"I-it's nothing."

"Heh… you all have a certain attraction to him, eh?"

Rosette said teasingly, seemingly embarrassing the girls even further. I couldn't help but smile at that, as it was funny to look at. I just chuckled for a good while as I proceeded to hand over the hammer to her. She just looked at me thankfully as she bowed her head lightly, which was quite polite of her if I'm being honest. But I don't want people to interact with me, too politely. Just being casual is fine. She then proceeded to speak.

"Haha, it's fun teasing them… So, mister lady-killer, what brings you here?"

"Haha, well… it's here."

I took out a piece of paper that the auctioneer gave me a couple of days back. With that brought out, Rosette seemed surprised as her eyes widened. She then narrowed her eyes as she looked at me, observing me everywhere. She seemed to be looking for something… something that she's been searching for, for a long time. And as she watched me, she seemed to have found it… Shocking her within her depths as she trembled.

"You… seem to be fit… Come with me inside, only you though. Princess, is that alright?"

"Yes, indeed."

"Well then, let's go."

She seemed to ask Elena if it's okay to bring me with her as if I was some kind of object. I couldn't help but laugh awkwardly at that, but I returned to my previous calm state. No, I've gone from relaxed to serious actually, as I sensed that the atmosphere around had turned tense when she started to observe me.

(... What could she have found? Well… since I don't know… how about I take this short time to use [Observe])

As I looked at her stats, my eyes felt as if it popped out. She was… strong, powerful. Seeing her strength stat, I couldn't believe how I stopped it as all I could remember is that I have 2,440 strength stat, whilst she has more. And… she was even stronger than all the generals! Just who was she?

I then looked at her with all seriousness as she led me down to the forging room. Inside… was beautiful! I didn't expect it! The weapons that hung around were majestic; more majestic than all of the weapons on display, right back at the other room.

The fire seemed like a phoenix flying through with flames upon its wings whilst everything else looked so refined from the hammers to the anvils, even to the tables. Everything seemed so fitting and great, and I couldn't help but smile as I admired everything that was set upon this room.

"Well then… shall we start the measurements?"

"Yeah, sure!"

I was excited to get armour as I never had one before. Imagine having medieval armour in modern times. I always liked things to stay in their era. Like, I wouldn't want to see guns in a novel that is set at a medieval timeline. It just wouldn't be fitting! But it depends, I guess…

Rosette started to measure my whole body as I stood up. If I forgot to tell one information about her… she wore such revealing clothes! I could control myself easily, so I just focused on the situation, and Rosette could only widen her eyes as she smiled, looking at how I reacted to her.

In just a couple of minutes, the whole measurement was done. It was relatively quicker than I expected, which was also a considerable advantage. With a few stretches, I looked at Rosette, who was currently waving the big hammer with one of her arms, which quite possibly amazed me. I don't know why… but strong and tough women are really… attractive. For me, at least.

I couldn't help but be interested about how the process of forging was gonna go, so I stared intently as Rosette fixed her hair using the chains to tie it properly. As I saw that, I gave a light chuckle as I continued observing the greatness that was about to be forged right in front of me.

"Are you interested in forging?"

"Yes, indeed. I never had a chance to see what forging is like, and now that I have the chance, I shouldn't let it pass, am I right?"

"Haha, you are absolutely right! Well then, if you're interested, you can watch! But beware… you are the first person ever to watch me forge something…"

Well, I couldn't help but feel that I have a very high position here. I just smiled lightly as I gave a thumbs up whilst I looked at her. She also smiled back at me as her expression turned solemn as she started the whole process of forging.
