The interviews with the core finance department personnel were completed, and the next step was the interviews with the technical department related positions.

The first person to be interviewed was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This position is one of the most important positions in the company. It is responsible for leading the company’s technology research and development work and promoting technological innovation and product development. Therefore, Ye Yunzhou has the highest requirements for personnel in this position.

Of course, if the most suitable candidate is Ye Yunzhou himself who has super artificial intelligence, he is the boss and cannot only focus on technology.

At the beginning of the interview, the first person to come up was a relatively powerful person. His name was Zhou Jia, and he was a doctor of electronic engineering from Tsinghua University.

“Please briefly introduce your work experience.” Li Mi, who was sitting on the left of Ye Yunzhou, spoke first.

“Okay. From 1998 to 2000, I worked as a technical R&D engineer at Motorola and participated in the design of many mobile phone baseband chips. From 2000 to 2002, I was responsible for the software development of smartphones at Sony Ericsson and led the optimization of the operating system of a popular model. Um…”

“Is it Sony Ericsson’s first smartphone P800?” Just when Zhou Jia wanted to continue, he was interrupted by Xu Liuyang.

Of course, the smartphones Zhou Jia and Xu Liuyang talked about were not real smartphones, but they were defined as smartphones in this era.

In fact, as early as 1994, IBM Simon, manufactured by IBM and BellSouth, was considered the world’s first smartphone. It integrates more than ten functions such as telephone, personal digital assistant, game, fax machine, etc. It has no physical buttons and input is completely operated by touch screen.

The device debuted at Comdex, a communications industry trade show held in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1992, and was sold by BellSouth in 190 cities in 15 states in the United States in 1994 at an initial price of $899.

Around 2000, in addition to PDAs that combined mobile phone functions, many established mobile phone manufacturers also added more functions to mobile phones, similar to the concept of smartphones.

For example, the Nokia 9000 was launched in 1998. This was the first Nokia Communicator business model officially launched by Nokia, and also the first PDA mobile phone under the brand. It used a square bevel shape, which was different from the bulky mobile phone shape at the time. It could be turned into a PDA phone by opening the body from the side.

In 2001, Symbian released the Symbian S60 operating system. The Symbian system dominated the world’s low-end smartphone market with its huge customer base and terminal market share.

As the super virus “Ghost” written by Jarvis spreads around the world this year, the so-called smart phones in the world are no longer smart, and most of the functions cannot be used. In the future, smart phones can only be dominated by Xingyao Company.

“Yes.” Zhou Jia replied.

Xu Liuyang nodded and asked him to continue.

“From 2002 to October 2003, I worked as a technical consultant at LG Electronics, providing guidance for the research and development of its new display technology.” After Zhou Jia introduced himself, he looked at everyone and waited for questions.

Everyone was still very impressed with his background. The companies he worked for were all large companies, and Ye Yunzhou found that this guy was very good at technology. He answered the technical questions raised by Xu Liuyang and Ye Yunzhou perfectly. Unfortunately, he had no experience in leading a team, so it seemed that he was not the best candidate for the chief technology officer.

However, Zhou Jia was really good at technology. After Ye Yunzhou communicated with him, Zhou Jia was willing to join Xingyao Company as a senior engineer. Of course, in terms of salary, Ye Yunzhou directly gave 1.5 times of the previous company, which was a relatively large increase.

Thus, Zhou Jia became the first senior engineer of Xingyao Company’s technical department.

The second person is also a technical expert, Wang Qiang, a master of computer science from Shanghai Jiaotong University.

From 1997 to 2000, he worked on chip architecture research at Intel and participated in the architecture design of the new generation of processors.

From 2000 to 2001, he conducted optimization research on the operating system kernel at Microsoft Research Asia.

From 2001 to September 2003, he worked as a senior technical expert at HP, responsible for improving server performance.

This applicant did not apply for the position of chief technology officer, but a technical expert. Ye Yunzhou certainly could not miss such a talent. After asking some more advanced technical questions and confirming his true talents, Ye Yunzhou directlyThe contract was signed with him on the spot. So far, Wang Qiang has become the first senior technical expert of Xingyao Company.

When the third person was interviewed, everyone finally met a talent that even Xu Liuyang could not compare to. The applicant was named Zhang Tianming, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Tsinghua University and a doctorate in electronic engineering from Stanford University.

From 1996 to 1999, he participated in the research and development of wireless communication technology at Qualcomm in the United States and contributed to the promotion of 3G technology.

From 1999 to 2002, he was responsible for hardware testing and quality control at Apple.

From 2002 to September 2003, he returned to China and served as the technical director of Warwick Company, leading the technical upgrade of a product line of the company.

After Zhang Tianming briefly introduced himself, Ye Yunzhou immediately asked curiously: “Mr. Zhang Tianming, you have already been the technical director of Warwick Company, why did you suddenly resign?”

Several other interviewers were also very curious, why did he resign after reaching such a high position, so if he came to Xingyao Company, would he also suddenly resign?

Zhang Tianming paused and said, “Because Mr. Ren was going to sell Warwick to Motorola, I couldn’t persuade him, but I didn’t want to continue working for an American company, so I chose to resign.”

As soon as Zhang Tianming said this, Ye Yunzhou remembered that this year was the most difficult year for Warwick.

Warwick missed market opportunities between 2000 and 2003, and at the same time encountered the bursting of the Internet bubble, internal turmoil, and Cisco’s lawsuit, which led to the company’s difficulties.

At the beginning of this year, Warwick was formally sued by Cisco, which accused Warwick of infringing its intellectual property rights, including software source code and command line interface. This lawsuit has restricted the development of Warwick’s business in North America.

So Warwick hopes to “put on a cowboy hat” for itself by introducing American technology giants such as Motorola and smoothly enter the US market. The two sides held acquisition negotiations, and Motorola planned to acquire Warwick for US$7.5 billion, but due to changes in Motorola’s senior management, the transaction failed to go through.

Huawei is not the tech giant that will fight the US in 20 years. Now they are still in a precarious situation, relying on orders from the three major operators to survive. It is not easy.

“Mr. Zhang Tianming, in today’s era, the technology of electronic products is updated very quickly. If you lead our technical department, how can you ensure that our company can keep up with or even lead these technological changes?”

Ye Yunzhou’s question is to test his insight into industry trends and strategic planning ability.

Zhang Tianming frowned slightly, thought for about ten seconds and then answered: “First, I will pay close attention to the cutting-edge trends of global technology research and development, establish cooperative relationships with major scientific research institutions and universities, and obtain the latest research results.”

“Second, invest sufficient resources in independent research and development, encourage innovative thinking, and cultivate an internal team of technical talents.”

“Furthermore, establish a flexible technology research and development mechanism that can quickly respond to market demand and apply new technologies to products.”

“Finally, actively participate in the formulation of industry technical standards to enhance the company’s voice and influence in the industry.”

After Zhang Tianming answered, Ye Yunzhou was secretly happy. It was similar to what he thought. Of course, this was a conventional idea. Ye Yunzhou had Jarvis, so he didn’t have to worry about technology in the future, but he was willing to see such an idea.
