This means that pure electric new energy vehicles can get a maximum subsidy of 60,000 yuan as long as the battery capacity reaches 20 kWh. This standard is obviously too low, which has led to some car companies cheating on subsidies.

In fact, the battery capacity of pure electric new energy vehicles with a range of more than 500 kilometers is usually between 50-60 kWh.

Based on these historical experiences and current situations, Hao Qiang suggested significantly raising the subsidy threshold to promote the healthy development of the new energy vehicle industry and avoid repeating the same mistakes.

After hearing Hao Qiang’s suggestions, the leaders and experts who participated in the seminar felt that he was more thoughtful and respected his opinions very much.

In the final analysis, Hao Qiang’s status and position are different.

If it were an ordinary person, even if his suggestions were good, people would not necessarily listen to him.

Hao Qiang met with Wang Chuanfu, the founder and chairman of BYD, at the company.

The energy density of the lithium iron phosphate battery pack reaches 140wh/kg, which means that the battery pack of 50 degrees of electricity weighs about 357 kilograms, which is barely acceptable.

If ternary lithium batteries are used, the weight of the battery pack will be reduced to 250 kg, which will be much lighter and have more space.

However, the energy density of their company’s lithium iron phosphate battery pack has not reached 100wh/kg. Under the same capacity, the weight is at least 150 kg larger and occupies more space, which seriously affects the design of the car and cannot meet the design requirements.

The curb weight of a medium-sized car is about 1.5 tons. If it is a new energy vehicle, it will weigh nearly 2 tons.

It is really ridiculous to drag hundreds of kilograms of batteries.

Therefore, if their own batteries are used, they can only reduce the capacity of the battery pack and greatly reduce the endurance. The theoretical endurance is up to 350 kilometers, and the actual endurance is less than 300 kilometers.

For consumers, they will have to charge for several hours if they drive less than 300 kilometers, which is definitely not what they want, and can only meet short-distance use.
