Rebirth of Abium

153 Chapter 153: Dark God's Consciousness

Meanwhile, Fennelis shifted her gaze towards the battling area and soon widened her sky-blue eyes.

''How did he come here?'' She muttered out loud in shock.

Hearing Fennelis's loud voice, Abium also turned his head towards the battling area and got startled as he saw white-haired fox kin whose face resembled more like Umi was battling against the puppet-like humans. Fox kin's black woolen shirt was already torn in half, revealing his wounded muscular body. He had pure oceanic eyes, snowy-white hair, a round-shaped face, olive skin, and thick eyebrows.

After looking at the Fox kin's appearance, Abium shifted his gaze and looked at the woman behind him. She was a black-haired lady with cat ears and appeared to be in a half-conscious state. She had amber eyes, a pearl-shaped face, thin eyebrows, and fair skin. She wore a flutter brown shirt, skinny black pants, high boots, and black leather gloves. From her back, a sword had already pierced through her abdomen, and she seemed to be already on the verge of falling.

Before Abium could say anything, Fennelis and Umi transformed into the large fox-forms and sprinted towards them like bolts of lightning. Once they arrived near those puppets, they didn't show any mercy and killed them ruthlessly using their bare snowy claws. There was no hesitation in their eyes. Letting out a heavy sigh, Abium teleported near to the black-haired catkin lady and quickly grabbed her from falling. Then, he shifted his gaze towards the wound and shook his head.

'She already lost most of her blood. If not for her strong desire to survive, she would have already died.' Abium pondered for a moment and quickly took out a potion bottle from his spatial ring. The potion was green in color and seemed to be emitting full of vitality. He had asked Nicolaus to buy this Life potion for emergency purpose but didn't expect that he would use sooner.

After a slight hesitation, Abium clicked his tongue in annoyance and poured all of it into her mouth while signaling her to swallow it. Simultaneously, he pulled out the pierced sword from her abdomen and silently watched a miraculous scene. Everyone, including Rizz, turned their heads and stared at Edith in astonishment.

As Edith gulped that liquid, she felt her body started to burn like fire. Within a second, she began to feel dizzy and lost consciousness after a while. Meanwhile, everyone saw the wound began to heal at an astonishing speed and became stunned.

She asked her dad multiple questions, and her oceanic-blue eyes were shining like blue gems. Fennelis was already in Rizz's embrace, and everyone soon heard an emotional cry from her mouth. Even Abium became surprised by that strong-willed woman's cry. In the past few months, Fennelis had gone through many hardships and couldn't contain her emotions when she saw her husband. Meanwhile, Umi climbed on Rizz's shoulder and asking questions like a storm. Abium watched their reunion with an envious look and soon began to think of his own parents.

'Are they still alive?' His heartbeat raced as he thought of them and soon calmed down his mind while taking a deep breath.

Meanwhile, Kate and Cedric also arrived near Abium and looked at the catkin with a pale expression on their faces.

Furrowing his eyebrows, Abium anchored his attention on Kate and Cedric and got puzzled by their reactions.

''Do you know her?'' Abium cocked a brow in surprise.

Hearing Abium's question, both of them froze for a second, and soon Kate began to answer.

''Her name is Edith, my lord. We heard that Holy Knights were after her head for committing horrible sins three months ago. After that, I even heard that the Holy Knights were searching for her secretively and didn't reveal it to the public not to cause panic.''

Hearing Kate's answer, Abium frowned a bit and nodded.

'Well, I expect nothing less from them.' Abium gazed at the fair-skinned beast girl who looked around 20 years old and was pleasantly surprised at her strength.

'Her strength, Agility, and Vitality are already above 14. She also reached Royal Rank at this young age. It seems she belongs to the Royal Family of Beast Empire.' Abium nodded with a smile and soon raised his eyebrows a little as he saw the fox kin was now walking towards his direction.

''Thank you for saving my captain's life and also thank you for protecting my family, Mr. Mage.'' Rizz bent his waist a bit as he arrived in front of Abium and gave him a respectful bow.

Abium waved his hand while shifting his attention to the catkin and then asked.

''How did she get injured?''

Rizz turned his face solemn and started to speak with a grim face.

''It happened just a few hours ago when we were stealthily hiding in the Red python group. At that time, one of our companions also suddenly gone mad like others and stabbed her before she could evade.''

Hearing Rizz's words, Abium was not surprised. He knew most of them in that situation would be directly killed by those puppet humans. But she somehow managed to evade that instant killing attack and survived.

Nodding his head, Abium began to ask about their situation and soon understood their aim.

'Well, they are also after 'Death cane,' huh. This is going to become big trouble. But how did they know?' Abium frowned deeply and asked Azolla.

'Azolla, can you guess how they got to know about this information? Moreover, how did they know about this Dungeon's appearance beforehand?'

'It's not a hard thing to guess the futures and places of some material, kid. Well, they must have asked some other diviners' help and might have predicted the future appearance of this 'Death cane' artifact using the previous owner of the artifact's real blood,' Azolla said as it was a normal thing, causing Abium to fell into deep thoughts.

'This Death cane appears to be more famous than I thought. I knew it has something related to death mages but why these beastkins are searching for it?'

As Abium was about to ask more about this 'Death cane' to Rizz, the princess Edith let out a groan and woke up. Without any other choice, he swallowed his words and began to speak with a bright smile while looking into Edith's amber eyes.

''It seems the 'Life potion' worked perfectly, Your Highness.''

Edith got tensed up as she saw an unfamiliar black-haired boy was speaking to her and then widened her eyes.

'I got wounded and was on the verge of losing my consciousness. Is he the one who saved me earlier?' She stared into Abium's eyes.

After a short silence, she nodded her head.

''Your Highness, are you feeling well now?'' Within a second, Fennelis arrived near to Edith and asked with a concerned tone.

''I'm okay, Lady Fennelis,'' Edith said with a warm smile while hugging Fennelis and continued with a sad tone,

''We were watching you two all this time but didn't have a chance to meet you due to those Light Church members' prying eyes.''

Fennelis arched her eyebrows in surprise and asked in puzzlement.

''Then why didn't you guys come out to meet us?''

''We couldn't. We have already faked our deaths and was secretly planning to enter this dungeon. But your arrival almost spoiled our plan. At first, we thought of contacting you guys, but soon we noticed that there were Light Church members constantly monitoring your movements. So we have no choice but to back away. My Lady, the 'Death Cane,' is much more important to us, so we didn't want to expose our identities.'' Edith's expression turned gloomy and said with a solemn tone.

''Haa! I almost forgot why both of us came to look for you.'' Fennelis rubbed her forehead and continued while shaking her head,

''Your Highness, I heard some information from a servant that the whole mission about the appearance of 'Death Cane' is a complete lie. The Emperor wants your whole assassin squad to disappear from this world. Well, you do understand that he is also a Light church member, right?'' Her words made both Edith and Rizz to freeze in surprise. But Edith spoke while shaking her head.

''I don't think so, My Lady. I also asked Diviner Heron from the Nature Church before coming to this mission, and I'm a hundred percent sure that 'Death Cane' artifact is hidden in this dungeon.''

''I think 'Her Highness' words are true, my lady.'' This time Abium interjected their conversation, causing everyone to stare at him with confusion.

Edith looked at him once again, but this time she stared at him deeply and soon started to ask Fennelis.

''Lady Fennelis, can you please introduce this mysterious mage to us?''

''Of course, Your Highness. His name is Abium, and he is also the Baron of Alastall woodlands. As for his strength, he is already a peak first-tier mage and has many secrets. Although he looks mysterious and sometimes acts ruthlessly, he is a good kid.'' Fennelis said with an amusing smile on her face while winking at Abium.

'He is the Baron of Alastall woodlands, huh. I did hear that a reckless mage chose a backward territory. But I didn't expect that mage would be so young. Also, I heard that Baron is an elf…' Edith looked at Abium with suspicious eyes, and soon she saw Abium's ears began to elongate like an elf. After a second, those elves return to normal.

'What the heck is that?! It looks creepy! He really is an elf! Moreover, he is using some artifact to disguise himself.' Edith looked at Abium with a stupefied face and soon nodded at him with a respectful gaze.

Meanwhile, Abium began to scratch his head awkwardly and started to speak.

''Your Highness, I don't have any ill intentions towards any of you, so you don't have to wary of me.'' He paused for a moment and added, ''As for my earlier words, I knew a friend who is also a Seer, and he already told me that 'Death Cane' really is hidden in this dungeon. Although he couldn't guess the exact location, I know there is someone who knows much about this place.'' After finishing his words, Abium shifted his gaze towards Cedric and smiled.

Cedric, who had been stayed silent all this time, suddenly got goosebumps as he noticed multiple eyes were staring at him.

''M-My lord, I don't know any location.'' Cedric got extremely nervous and stuttered in confusion.

''I know you don't know anything. But I don't think that parasite Mind-Worm inside your Sea of Consciousness knows nothing.'' Abium said with a smile and continued, ''Cedric, close your eyes and concentrate on waking up that Dark God's Consciousness. Also, talk to him like you know some of his secrets. Well, I will tell you his name, and so you can use it to threaten him. His name is Ringer, and widely known as Dark god.''

Hearing Abium's words, Cedric nodded his head and quickly sat on the ground, then closed his eyes. After that, he began to send his consciousness to the Mind worm and disturb it in his Mind World.

It didn't take long before he heard an ancient roaring voice in his head, causing him to startle inside.

'Who dares to disturb me in my sleep?'

'H-Hello!' Cedric became extremely nervous when he heard an ancient old man's voice and replied with a stutter.

'Who are you, mortal?' That voice paused for a second and soon muttered with exciting words, 'So, you are the new seed, huh. Hmm? Interesting! I feel divine powers in the Royal elf's body and that child beast's body. Mortal, if you kill those two for me, I will give you my bloodline and then make you walk on the path of Warlock. My bloodline is one of rarest bloodlines; you won't get shackled until you reach Legendary-Tier Warlock.'

Hearing that old man's words, Cedric became dumbfounded and soon replied while regaining his senses.

'Old man, I also know some information about you. Moreover, I already became a follower of that mage, so don't think you can order me around just because you attached yourself to my head. I already learned that you are just a parasite who is seeking for mortals' help to rose power.' Hearing Cedric's words, Ringer fell into deep thoughts. He got stunned inside because he didn't understand how this mortal could know so much about him. He stayed silent for a whole minute and started to ask with annoyance.

'You got me, Mortal. So, tell me now, what do you want?'

Cedric smiled in the outside world and replied with a cold tone.

'I want you to give me your Mind worm bloodline, and I also want to know the location of the 'Death Cane.''

Ringer became startled when he heard those words and began to think deeply. This time he finally managed to get an interesting seed. But this one knew some information about him which made him hesitate.

Sensing the hesitation appeared in the old man's mind, Cedric began to speak,

'Old man, don't worry, I won't find a way to get rid of you unless you try to harm me.'

Ringer chuckled inside his mind and replied without any care,

'I'm not worrying about those silly things, mortal. I know only a God can get rid of me from your mind, and I don't think you have the power to communicate with a God directly. What I'm worried about is completely another matter. Well, don't try to reject when I'm going to inject you with my Mind worm Blood essence. Although you are a warrior, I don't think it would pose any harm to your body when injecting my blood essence. Take it.' As he finished his words, Cedric felt a sharp pain appeared in his mind, and the next second he began to lose his consciousness.

'Don't lose your consciousness, mortal. If you do, then you will definitely die, and I will devour your soul.' Ringer said in a chilling tone as he noticed the changes in Cedric's mind.

Cedric nodded his head tensely and bit his tongue to stay awake. Soon, he began to feel countless information about how to cast bloodline spells appeared in his mind and began to engrave in the depth of his consciousness.

Meanwhile, Abium began to notice the changes happening in Cedric's body and got surprised.

'Heh, this guy really managed to get his hands on a top-rated Bloodline now. I thought that Dark God would be a stubborn one.' Abium's lips curled upward, and asked Azolla to monitor the changes in Cedric's body.

A few minutes later, Abium saw a few dark rings like lines began to appear on his body and then disappeared. Then, everyone began to see an illusionary body of a three-meter tall worm with multiple tentacles that appeared behind Cedric's body, giving strong pressure to the surroundings.

A second later, Abium saw a row of information that appeared in front of his eyes and grinned.
