Resident Evil Multiverse Of Madness

Chapter 301 - 290 - Whispers of Truth

Alice and Elizabeth appeared on the island of Yamatai.

This was the last place Lara had any recollection of seeing Zeel, though the memories surrounding the entire event were vague at best.

It seemed that the rune The Red Queen used had proven more effective than she could have ever hoped.

The Hybrid Rune The Red Queen used was supposed to block the memories, but Lara's mind locked the memories away as an automatic response.

The moment Alice and Elizabeth appeared, both women felt a strange suppression fall onto their bodies.

However, the feeling faded as quickly as it came, making them wonder if everything was an illusion to begin with.

"You felt that?" Elizabeth asked confused.

"Yeah, I felt that," Alice replied.

Elizabeth closed her eyes, sifting through Lara's memories, and quickly found the answer.

"The island had a suppression field but Zeel broke it," Elizabeth said.

"Zeel breaks everything…" Alice replied with a sigh.

Elizabeth quirked her brows and felt a dirty joke coming along, but refrained at the last minute. Now was not the time to make jokes when Zeel could be in danger.

Elizabeth knew that Zeel dying meant both her and Alice dying as well, she wasn't sure how, but she felt that way instinctively.

"Let's go…" Alice said ignoring the dirty joke that just surfaced inside Elizabeth's mind.

Alice closed her eyes, codes flickering across her pupils as Lara's memories were observed through her eyes.

Unlike Elizabeth, Alice was much more skilled with the nanites and could analyze the gaps in Lara's memories clearer.

"He went down… she shot him, or… he made sure that she shot him. The tomb collapsed after …" Alice murmured, then pointed to a stone.

"It should be directly below that stone," Alice stated.

Elizabeth flashed over to the stone and stood on top of it, then she closed her eyes as the nanites scanned for everything beneath the stone.

Deep below the surface, Elizabeth felt a pocket of air that was tinged with an element of space that was denser than just air.

"500 feet below," Elizabeth mentioned, grabbing Alice as they both rippled with water and disappeared.

They both reappeared in a corridor, standing just before a section in the passage that separated two distinct dimensions.

"What is it?" Elizabeth asked.

"Space… a different dimension of sorts," Alice replied, but paused suddenly and glanced back through the passage.

Alice vaguely heard something whispering, trying to get her attention.

"Something cursed is whispering to me," Alice mentioned catching Elizabeth's attention.

A golden aura originated from Elizabeth's body and covered Alice in an instant, but Alice still heard the whispering.

Elizabeth's [Rainbow Aura] could purify anything she deemed 'not beautiful' and curses was one such thing.

"I still hear the whispering," Alice murmured.

Alice's statement meant one of two things. Either the thing whispering to her held no evil intentions, or it was too powerful for Elizabeth to block.

"If there was an artifact here, Zeel would have found it before us," Alice said, trying to come up with a reasonable explanation for everything.

Elizabeth's [Rainbow Aura] shifted colors – red, blue, green, and purple.

The moment Elizabeth's aura turned purple, she felt a faint twinge in the back of her mind.

Each color of her aura represented different emotions and concepts, and purple just so happened to represent mystery, ambition, and royalty.

"This artifact holds mystery… I don't know anything about 'Mystery' from Lorien's memories or Zeel's," Elizabeth said, but Alice discovered something entirely different.

'Mystery' was mentioned in both Zeel's and Lorien's memories but the memories were restrained from both her and Elizabeth.

Alice and Elizabeth walked away from the dimensional split and ventured back through the corridor.

Halfway through their journey backward, Elizabeth stopped and gathered multi-colored lights into her palm.

She released the energy, impacting a nearby wall and causing the hidden door to shoot backward and into the room.

[Hell Flames] surrounded Alice's body in a red flame as she entered the room before Elizabeth could object.

Elizabeth flashed with light and disappeared into the room, standing in front of Alice with a look of disappointment on her face.

"When have you been this reckless?" Elizabeth asked upset.

"When I knew that you cared more about following Zeel's rules than feeling alive," Alice said with a sudden outburst that startled both Elizabeth and herself.

Elizabeth felt appalled at Alice's sudden outburst but had the intense urge to speak her own truth as well.

"So says the wife that can't even trust her husband!" Elizabeth yelled back at Alice "Are you so afraid that you can't impress him so you have to go against him at every chance?"

Alice felt a pang in her heart since Elizabeth spoke some truth. With their nanites connection, they could perceive the insecurities buried deep in each other's hearts.

Insecurities that Zeel never paid attention to, rather, he was never aware of due to his impotency in the 'emotional' category of their marriage.

"I gave you this life and I can take it away just easily. You are just a child that I picked up as a sob story to keep Zeel 'human'!" Alice yelled the truth that both she and Elizabeth knew but refused the acknowledge.

Elizabeth had a dark impulse buried deep in her heart when Alice said those words.

Within Elizabeth's mind, a spectrum of colors were displayed and they began to merge, separate, and shift to create a totally new color.

In an instant, the colors in Elizabeth's mind fell out of view one by one until a tinge of black remained as the final color.

Slowly, Elizabeth reached for the black color that her Rainbow and Light Divinities had just synthesized in front of her eyes.

Just as Elizabeth was about to touch the black color, a short figure covered with multi-colored flames emerged from the void and grabbed onto her outstretched hand.

"Apologies my Goddess, but I fear that something is unnatural about your current state," the teenage girl said, clutching Elizabeth's hand in place.

Elizabeth tried to move her hands with all her strength, but could not even budge an inch.

The blackness in Elizabeth's eyes changed and her silver-gold pupils regained their l.u.s.ter. Elizabeth could now move her body as she wished inside her own mind.

Elizabeth directed her attention to the teenage girl standing in front of her and the nanites instantly generated an identity.

The nanites interpreted the facial structure of the girl, layered on the skeletal system, nervous system, then reverse aged the face back to childhood.

"You're Kinzi from The Mysterious Island," Elizabeth said with surprise after all processes were complete.

Kinzi was amongst those dancers she genetically altered during her 'Pop-Star' stage in The Verne-Verse.

Kinzi knelt onto one knee and whispered in a voice full of reverence "Goddess!"

"Goddess?" Elizabeth asked confused "I accidentally created you guys before I became a God,"

Kinzi seemed confused at Elizabeth's response. Over the past couple of years, Kinzi had come to learn many things about her existence, and who Elizabeth was – A Goddess.

Zeel left behind all sorts of knowledge on the island with Hank a decade ago so Kinzi was knowledgeable about all sorts of topics.

However, it seemed that The Goddess was less knowledgeable than her followers 'The Torches'.

"The God of Speed explained it in a strange way, but I am connected to you as a follower… everyone you created are called 'The Torches', and I am the Head Torchess," Kinzi explained.

"How are you even here?" Elizabeth asked confused.

"You called for me," Kinzi replied and gestured to the black color floating in front of them "That is usually inside of me,"

"I don't know what 'that' is," Elizabeth answered.

"The God of Speed showed me how to contain parts of your Divinities you didn't need," Kinzi said.

"What do you me-" Elizabeth wanted to inquire more but her mind was fighting a very strong feeling to embrace the black color within her sights.

Her mind fought between inquiring about the black color and forcing Kinzi to reveal what she meant by Zeel containing parts of her Divinities.

Elizabeth had a vague impression because she felt strangely disconnected from her light divinity despite being a God of Rainbows and Light.

Feeling her time in Elizabeth's mindscape coming to an end, Kinzi finally recalled the reason Elizabeth subconsciously summoned her here.

"Listen!" Kinzi said with seriousness in her voice "Some kind of artifact is affecting your mind with a concept. I am not sure what it is, but you should have clarity long enough to do something about it…"

Elizabeth snapped awake inside the room, only to see Alice's flames melting the wall to reveal the golden room as it truly was.

Elizabeth had regained clarity but fell into a trance once more the moment she laid eyes on the shimmering gold of the room.

Alice and Elizabeth's minds were supposed to be protected by Zeel's programming with the nanites, but strangely, nothing happened at this moment.
