The Umbrella Corporation thought they'd contained the infection. Well, they were wrong. Raccoon City was just the beginning. Within weeks, the T-virus had consumed the United States. Within months, the world. The virus didn't just wipe out human life.

Lakes and rivers dried up, forests became deserts ... and whole continents were reduced to ... nothing more than barren wastelands. Slowly but surely, the Earth began to wither and die. What few survivors there were learned to keep on the move.

We avoided major cities. If we stopped anyplace too long, they would be drawn to us.

Only a few at first, but then more and more. A never-ending army of undead.

For those left...

... staying on the road...

... seemed the only way to stay alive.

… But me and Zeel were a different story entirely…

We never ran from the fight; we took it to them…

.. and that's what we are doing now, taking the fight directly to them –

The Umbrella Corporation.

Alice and Zeel temporarily separated about a week ago, as he had to travel through a satellite zone which Alice could not pass until she was entirely free of Umbrella's control. Alice thought back to the conversation between her and Zeel when they separated.

**

"I'll travel a bit through this part and you'll head through the dead spots like usual. We'll meet up on the other side." Zeel said as he began setting timers on his scanner, which he had built using his watch as the foundation.

"Okay, just make sure you hurry back to me." Alice said kissing Zeel on his cheek and then spinning out of his arms as he attempted to hold her for a longer kiss.

"Come back and there'll be more" Alice said cheekily.

"Always" Zeel replied after taking a couple steps forward kissing her cheek.

As Alice was passing by a pub on her motorcycle, she heard pleads for help and being the person she was, kind enough to help not enough to go out of her way, attempted to find out what was going on. Truly, she would help anyone she could these days since she had begun to notice she became more and more deaf to the pleads of others. Maybe it was a consequence of following the empathetic Zeel for too long, or maybe she had just matured to the point that kindness was no longer conducive to her growth.

"Can anyone help us? Please?" A woman sat on a dirty, shitty smelling bed pleading with what seemed to be a child in her arms. Alice was immediately cautious upon seeing the woman but opted to forego cautiousness as she laid eyes on the child in the woman's arms. Ove the last year or so Alice had begun to long for a family of her own but gave up after Zeel explained to her the impossibility of their physiologies being compatible 'One in a million chance' was the phrase he used to describe their chances of having children.

"My baby. Please. Please help my baby" The woman pleaded desperately.

As Alice was about to reach for the child she paused, though she did not receive Zeel's ability itself she did have an improved intuition not much weaker than Zeel's own.

"Okay come on out!" Alice yelled to nowhere in particular, and leaned back awaiting the arrival of the people she sensed now that she had a calm state of mind.

"We're surrounded. We need help. Can anyone hear us?" The trio start mimicking in a mocking tone, as they signaled the woman on the disgusting bed to get up.

"Can anyone help us? Please. Works every time, Mama." Said one of the rougher looking guys to who seems to be his mother. They had teeth filled with rotten meat, no doubt cannibals from the looks of it, this isn't the first time Alice had come across these types of survivors.

Alice would normally kill any she came across based on principle alone but Zeel would leave most of them be saying it was only logical to find a stable source of food – human, when they had none. Alice sighed as she thinks 'I am still working on changing his way of thinking.'

"Let's see...

...what else she's packing." Another guy said as he proceeds to check her out with l.u.s.ting eyes; Alice was confused if he was checking her out for her meat quality or body? Would her attractiveness outweigh her nutritional value in their eyes? The moment she found herself thinking like this, Alice smiled wryly as this was another one of Zeel's quirks she picked up.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. I have a really jealous boyfriend you see." Alice said putting her hand behind her head as if she was stretching but she was manipulating a couple metal shards a few feet away.

"Shut your mouth!" The mother says hissing like a venomous snake ready to strike any moment.

*whoosh* *whoosh*

Before any of the group knew what had occurred they grip their necks, not knowing when one shard appeared in each of their necks.

"Sorry but my boyfriend said to kill using mainly my abilities, training and all or I would have killed all of you with my b.a.r.e hands" Alice says keeping a stoic face the entire time, she was truly disgusted at the smells in the room. With her enhanced senses she could easily determine that others had been ticked here before, they were obviously defiled and eaten.

Alice searched the entire residence for anything that could prove useful, Zeel thought her to always take what is offered. Over the past years Zeel had thought her many things he was trained to do, and by the end of the training she could understand why he was so crazy and lacked emotions. This incident only cemented the already strong relationship they shared, Alice marveled in the fact she was his first love and he was hers – at least for all she could remember indicated that.
