Return Of Aegis

Chapter 15 - Return of Aegis - First update

"Greetings, Master Kanahema, I have returned to show you the item for my class change," bowed ZeLin respectfully in front of Master Kanahema.

Handing over the [Silver Gale Blades], ZeLin stood back. He watched as Master Kanahema checked the blades.

Master Kanahema had in many years not seen such fine pieces craftsmanship. He had asked for Uncommon rank equipment for the class change quest, but this youngster had produced a Unique rank equipment. Master Kanahema, nodded inwardly, "This young man will go far, this is merely the beginning."

"This is much better than what I requested. You have not only passed the class change quest, you have gone straight into the perfection rank of the intermediate stage. Here is your armband, it serves to identify yourself to your fellow smiths." said Master Kanahema as he passed the blades back to ZeLin.

[Ding! Congratulations on class change to Dwarf Smith. 100 Aegis Reputation points gained.]

In one breath and a flurry of system messages, he was already at the Intermediate Stage - Perfection Rank.

[World Announcement: Due to Players reaching Phase One criteria, the servers will be taken down for updating - Official Ranking Boards will be added in all villages, towns and cities as well as minor balancing issues. "Master Kanahema, I don't understand these rankings, can you explain them to me?" asked ZeLin. He genuinely did not know about the stages and ranks of a smith.

"Smiths are not the same as normal players. You can't level up through conventional means, killing monsters won't get you experience points, only through crafting and quests do you get experience points to level up. However it is not an easy path, you are currently known as what we call a novice smith. There are four more levels above you, after novice, there are intermediate, expert, master craftsman and right at the top, Grandmaster Craftsman. Each level has four stages and in each stage there are four ranks."

"Since you were able to craft a named weapon, you have proven yourself capable. Thus I gave you a high rank."

Master Kanahema explained.

Gaining a slightly better understanding of the class system, ZeLin nodded. "So basically I have to keep making equipment," thought ZeLin.

Using the auction hall was the easiest to get your stuff out anonymously, to put it crudely, it was a place you could fence stuff.

Didn't take long for ZeLin to locate the auction hall, stepping in, he was greeted by the attendant.

"Welcome to Aegis Auction Hall. All users will be given a private room for your business. Here is the room assigned to you. Have a nice day."

The auction hall was split into 3 sections, the first section was where you could see what was listed. The section behind, was where the monthly auctions were held. Special items usually made it to the monthly auctions. Where as normal stuff could be bought whenever. The second floor was filled with rooms for people to conduct business in.

Upon leaving, you could pay a slight premium to be temporarily cloaked or disguised when leaving. Aegis had set up this service from right in the beginning, after many players complained that they were ambushed after selling or purchasing an expensive item.

ZeLin headed to the second floor where the room he was assigned was. Upon entering the room sealed off, he was in his own space. It was not possible to sense or peer into the rooms, that was the beauty of these places.

He placed 5 [Wind Dagger] up for auction, with the lowest priced at 1G, and no maximum cap; buyout rate was 10G. He set the [Wind Dagger] to release 30 minutes after each was sold. Items sold at auctions, would incur a 10% service charge. So if the [Wind Dagger] sold at 10G, he would only get 9G. Pricey, but it would be best at this stage. As for the Rare [Wind Dagger] & [Silver Gale Blades] he would not sell it yet. Auctioning off 5 [Wind Dagger] at this stage was enough to shock the world.

Satisfied, ZeLin exited the room, then went back to the first section downstairs. ZeLin looked at some items listed on the auction hall, but finding nothing he needed, he left the auction hall.

Shortly after, ZeLin logged off. ZeRen had already logged off an hour ago and was having his dinner.

"Bro, servers will be down for a bit, I sort of triggered the phase 1 completion and the game is down for updates. They're launching the rankings early," ZeLin told his brother as he poured himself some barley lime.
