Chapter 6: I was given a mission

……I’m not sure how it happened.

I am currently hiding in the shadows under the direction of Kira— a boy with beautiful golden eyes.

It is evening. According to Kira, the targets will soon be passing by on the road I’m looking at.

I really don’t know what’s going on, but Kira has offered to help me make some money.

Of course, I was very grateful, so I said, “Yes, thank you!” I bowed my head, but Kira said something I would not have thought of.

“Healing magic targets primary school pupils.”

“School……!”

(Oh, my God, could that be it?)

“It means I can go to school too! ?”

“Of course not.”

That’s right…… I’m already twenty-eight years old……

But for me, school life is a dream.

I was never a student…… This is because I was discovered to be a Saint when I was five years old, and I have been living at the Grand Temple ever since.

It seems to be a lot of fun to spend time shoulder to shoulder with boys and girls of the same age and study together.

Because when I received my saintly education, of course I was all alone.

(The Great Temple was full of grandfathers and uncles and little brothers……)

I feel sentimental even though I was kicked out a few hours ago.

“So, here’s the plan. First of all, kids at the age of primary school have scars all the time from fighting with others and falling down. Which means it’s a perfect target for us to go after.”

(You’re just a kid……)

I had been thinking this since we first met. But Kira’s manner of speaking, or rather his attitude, seemed strangely mature to me.

And while Kira may not be in elementary school, he is still old enough to go to school.

I know it’s none of my business.

“By the way, how many times a day can you use your healing magic?”

“I haven’t counted them, but I think I could probably use them indefinitely.”

Kira let out a surprisingly deep sigh.

“You’re not lying to me, are you?”

“Lie? Why?”

He exhaled more and more deeply as he stared at me.

“Well, okay, I believe you. So they have a good amount of money. So, in order to heal one of them…… Yes, we demand five Lean as payment.”

“Five Lean? We’re gonna get caught for fraud!”

“You won’t get caught. In fact, they’re too cheap.”

“Is… That… So! ?”

I feel like my perception of the world has changed a lot in just one day.

Leaving me aghast, Kira continued talking.

“…… Next time, don’t make that red-black ball thing that floats in the air.”

“Why?”

“It was weird. It was kind of creepy.”

I was so sad that I broke down in tears. Children are so honest.

“But-But no matter how hard I try to control it, the golden grains keep coming out…”

“I’d rather see you actively release the other one. I’m sure it will be more popular.”

(Popular?)

I wasn’t sure what it meant, but I guess it meant that the more you give, the better.

“Okay, okay. I’ll whip out as much as I can!”

I clenched my fists tightly, and Kira nodded as if to say, “That’s the spirit”.

“The children of high-ranking aristocrats would ride in a carriage to and from school. Only lower class nobles or commoners from well-to-do families who can afford to go to school will walk this way on foot……. If possible, try to talk to people walking alone.

“Kira, you know so much.”

“……Nothing like that.”

“No. For a little guy, you are amazingly knowledgeable!”

Kira is miffed for some reason. I was trying to compliment him…

“Okay, first things first.”

( “First try talking to someone, just to try it out.” That’s what I’ve been told.)

This route seems to be regularly used by school children to access the main road on their way to and from school.

Behind me, Kira is also secretly waiting. I can count on him to support me if there is any kind of abnormal situation.

So I waited in silence for a while, holding my breath.

(They’re here!)

I quickly jumped out of the shadows.

Walking alone was a boy with brown hair who looked about…… ten years old.

His eyesight is poor and he has gauze over his right eye. He looks like he’s in the throes of mischief.

‘He, Hello!”

“?”

(He’s looking at me like I’m crazy!)

But don’t be intimidated here.

I said the words I had prepared.

“That-That’s right. I’ll touch your sore spot if you like!”

“Eh! ?”

“— I’ll do my best to touch and heal you! I’ll touch and heal you so hard! But I want money in return—”

I was pulled back into the alleyway.

“Are you stupid! !”

Kira, whose face is as red as an apple, yells at me.

(Eh! ?)

“……I thought about it as hard as I could. What did I do wrong?”

Kira turns even redder when I stare at him with the desire to tell him.

“……All right, I messed up! I’ll think of the dialogue.”

“Ye, Yes, thank you?”

“……So don’t say those things to guys anymore.”

“That kind of thing?”

When I tried to remember what I said, he said, “Forget it!” and he got angry again.

“Anyway, it’s banned!”

“Wa-, yes”

Kira’s pent-up anger finally seemed to subside when I nodded vigorously.

“Coach said to me [Okay, let’s move on.] I replied vigorously [Yes!].

Kira is being so kind to me.

(We have to make it work next time!)
