Shield Hero With Barrier Magic

(Author Note - As some of you pointed out, this fanfic is following the LN plot of the Shield Hero and many of you are not familiar with it... So, I will try my best to give a brief summary of the things from LN whenever they are necessary... You can also ask questions in comments and I will answer them directly or put the answer as an author note in the next chapter... Anyway, the question I got from the previous chapter was "What the heck is Q'ten Lo ??"

It is a Japan-like country... And Raphtalia is of royalty bloodline from that country... Raphtalia doesn't know that... And the Shadows group had their origin from this place... Some shadows from there are sent to observe Raphtalia... Why are they just observing Raphtalia if she is of royalty ?? Well, it would be revealed at the end of Volume 12 of LN and I am not going to mention it now but it's pretty easy to guess the reason... Anyway, for now, this much info about it is more than enough...

And Rose did a lot of help to Hiro by killing those Shadows from Q'ten Lo with her team... Well, even if Rose didn't do it, Hiro is going to silently kill them anyway... If you want to know why it is helpful to Hiro, read the LN volume 12...)

(Raphtalia's POV)

I cried for a while in my Master, the Shield Hero's arms... He gently patted my back the whole time... After I calmed down, I broke the hug, looked at him and asked...

Raphtalia - "Master, are you going to fight the Waves ??"

Master smiled and patted my head...

Master - "Yes, I am..."

I am scared of monsters, I am scared of blood, I am scared of killing but... I have decided...

Raphtalia - "Umm... Will you let me fight beside you ?? I may be weak but I will try my best to get stronger..."

Mistress - "Raphtalia..."

Raphtalia - "Yes, Mistress ??"

Mistress - "About the choices that we were going to give you at the end... We were going to ask you if you want to fight with us or not..."

Raphtalia - "Umm... What would you do if I chose not to fight ??"

Master - "We will just raise you as our daughter and keep you away from the Wave while we will be fighting in the Wave..."

They are going to fight themselves ?? Immediately the image of my parents getting ripped by that dog came into my mind...

Raphtalia - "NO !!"

I immediately hugged Master tighter than the previous hug... No, I don't want to lose... I don't want to lose people precious to me again... This time I will be the one to put my life on the line...

Raphtalia - "No !! Don't leave me during the Wave !! I will fight with you !! I will get stronger !! I don't want to lose people precious to me in a Wave again !! So, please... Take me along with you, Master... I will fight so that I can stop other children from going through the same fate as I did..."

Master - "Alright, we will help you get stronger..."

I immediately smiled...

Raphtalia - "Really ?!!"

Master smiled back...

Master - "Yes..."

And we were smiling at each other, Mistress called out my name...

Eclair - "Raphtalia..."

She looked like she is shocked... Did I do something wrong ??

Raphtalia - "Yes mistress ??"

Eclair - "What do you mean 'again' ?? Does that mean you lost someone in the first Wave ??"

Ah... They don't know my story... I guess they should know my past too...

Raphtalia - "Yes, Mistress... I used to live with my parents in Seyaette but I lost them in the Wave and I was sold as a slave..."

Immediately Mistress bowed in front of me...

Raphtalia - "Mistress !! What are you doing ?!!"

Mistress - "As someone who couldn't protect my father's territory... You can hate me if you want..."

Huh ?? What is she saying ?? Master sighed...

Master - "Eclair's name before our marriage is Eclair Seaetto..."

Seaetto ?? That means...

Raphtalia - "Mistress is duke's daughter ??"

Mistress bit her lips... She looked like she was about to cry...

Mistress - "I am sorry... I was incompetent and powerless... I couldn't stop the slave hunters which made you suffer so much... I will bear it even if you don't forgive me and hate me for the rest of your life..."

Tears already formed at the edge of her eyes... I went and hugged her...

Raphtalia - "Please raise your head, Mistress... There is no reason for me to hate you and you didn't do anything wrong to say sorry... It's not your fault... Both of us couldn't save the village... Next time, let's fight together so that no other village has the same fate as that of ours... You and Master became precious people to me... I could never hate you..."

Mistress hugged me back tighter and immediately started crying...

Mistress - "Thank you !! Thank you, Raphtalia !! I really don't know what I would do if you really started hating me !! I was so scared !!"

Immediately, Master came and hugged us both... This warmth... I like it... We really look like a family, don't we ??

Mistress - "I couldn't save your parents and I am also inexperienced about parenting... But I promise you, Raphtalia... I will try my best to be a good mother to you and I will definitely make you call me Mommy..."

Master - "Well, Then you have to wait till she calls me Daddy..."

Mistress immediately hit Master with her elbow...

Master - "Ouch! That hurt !!"

Mistress - "Don't ruin our mother and daughter moment !!"

Immediately I started laughing... Looking at me, Master and Mistress also started laughing... This family... I am going to protect it this time at all costs...

(Eclair's POV)

Raphtalia is a child of our territory... Why did the slave trader not know that ?? I think he didn't bother asking her previous owner... But, thanks to my beloved, we saved one person of my territory from dying and I will do my best as her mother from now on... Anyway, Hiro started telling the rest of our story to our daughter...

Hiro - "Alright, Raphtalia... Now the story is going to have a lot of twists... So, listen to me carefully..."

And Hiro told her our side of the story... About how he got suspicious of the summoning, how he found me imprisoned, how we escaped and hiding my identity and the false **** accusation and how the queen is helping us... Everything except his dark past... She is too young to hear that...

Hiro - "That's our side of story... So, I would like you to act along with us..."

Raphtalia - "Unforgivable..."

Hiro - "Huh..."

Raphtalia - "Unforgivable!! How dare they ?!! How dare they try to do it again ?!! Aren't they satisfied with just destroying my village ?!! Now they want to take people precious to me again ?!! I will destroy them !! I will kill them !! Make me stronger, Master and Mistress !! I will destroy them myself !! I will kill them !!"

Alright... For some time, I thought I was looking at my reflection... I looked at Hiro... He is looking at Raphtalia with a proud expression with tears at the corner of his eyes... What the hell are you proud about ?!!

Oh, wait... I looked at his pants... It's not hard... Good, if he got hard because of his ten-year-old daughter, I would be beating the hell out of him... But that doesn't change the fact that he is not reacting the way a normal parent would...

Tears started running down Hiro's proud face... He went and hugged Raphtalia who kept murmuring 'I will kill them' repeatedly...

Hiro - "Eclair... Did you see how cute our daughter just looked ?? *sniff* Our daughter is growing... *sniff* *sniff* I am proud of her..."

Eclair - "You crazy Yandere fetishist !! Don't go encouraging our daughter to become like me !!"

Hiro - "It's not wrong when people say, 'A daughter should idealize her mother'... *sniff* *sniff* Our daughter is growing Eclair..."

Eclair - "She is growing in a weird way !! Turn her back to normal right now !!"

*Sigh* Now I am sure that Hiro is going to be the weirdest father of history...
