Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 237: Estimation of Possibilities

"...I am not sure what their actual plans are. But it could also result in them causing no harm to you but that's just a speculation."

Soon enough the smile on her face disappeared. Her face turned pale instead. Her shoulders that had loosened up, became tensed again. The only solace to her distraught heart was the fact that it didn't know how 'big' this organization was that Klautz talked about.

But since Klautz who barely conversed went through such a long speech. She couldn't take it lightly.

'No.'

Should she trust Klautz or not? At this point, such thoughts didn't even come to her mind. When your life is in mortal peril some of the functioning of the brain just stops working.

But Klautz didn't lie either.

Throughout the ambush, Klautz had made sure that the ninjas of Mizukigakure made no contact with Evelyn. Otherwise, not only Kishiogakure but also Akihiko would have known about her. If that happened there was no hope left for her. Both the villages might have got fixated on her for different reasons.

But so what? With Mizukigakure out of the picture, the situation didn't get any better for the poor girl.

One must note that Mizukigakure was a small village in its initial stages. What it could actually do was fairly limited. The real threat was always Kishiogakure.

"So what should I do?"

Her hands pulled closer coving up her petite body as she felt like dangers were everywhere around her. Her outward beauty might have done a good job of hiding it, but her body had endowed many signs of torture.

She looked up at Klautz, staring at him for answers. For she felt that she was stuck in a loophole and she had no answers to get out of it. Even if the 'organization' sents more personnel and she manages to kill them somehow, that would only keep causing more trouble for her. She saw no way other out of it.

Only KLautz seemed brilliant enough to answer her questions. But her expectations were soon shattered.

"To be very honest, there is nothing that you can do to get out of this." Klautz continued, "If they chose to kill you then there is little hope. If they chose to assassinate you, you are already in the abyss. Your only bet would be to pray that they don't pursue you on this."

'Won't pursue me?' What was the chance of that? Evelyn's fingers and toes tingled the more she thought about it. Her eyes rippled as she collected her thoughts.

"What chances are there that they won't pursue me on this?"

Klautz held on to his chin as a question that he had not thought through yet immediately presented itself.

"Hmmm... About 0,1%"

Klautz nodded. That was an accurate estimation in his dictionary.

'I don't want to brag, but we made quite the mess there."

Klautz had killed 16 of their ninjas out of nowhere. Not to mention that even the tracking ninja was killed. Killing the backing ninjas was a great feat that not many can accomplish. Even the powerhouses fail on this due to the very nature and purpose of these ninjas. Since there is always quite a bit of distance between where the tracking ninjas are stationed and the place where the main force of the ninjas actually go through their mission.

It was only because Klautz knew about the location of the village that he was able to find him in the first place. Otherwise even a tracker as amazing as Klautz would be unable to find him considering the distance. The area where these ninjas stand by was simply too large to make any estimations.

'They would be quite shocked indeed.'

Would the village be able to sit in peace after getting to know this piece of lovely news? They would be immediately thrown into chaos and panic. For this would mean someone had cracked their winning formulas.

They would leave no stone unturned to find the root of it. And they would definitely do their research meticulously and reach the poor girl.

But Klautz was pretty casual about all of this because he knew that they would never be able to reach him. The ninjas of Mizukigakure had already removed most traces. It was Evelyn that was in most danger since the representative had already relayed many messages to the village mentioning the details of their actions.

Evelyn was the prime suspect, the first one who they would dig up.

The "0.1%" that Klautz claimed was only because they might choose to ignore Evelyn on the grounds that a newbie as weak as her couldn't possibly be involved in the death of 16 'F' rank ninjas. But as it looked like, the chances of that were rare.

But had Evelyn been stronger the chances would have turned from 0.1% to 0%.

"Ha Ha… zero point one? You must be joking. That can't be…" Evelyn whimpered with trembling chin and lips.

*sigh*

Klautz could only sigh to the girl who refused to accept the seriousness of the situation. But he was soon proved wrong as Evelyn continued...

"What was the point of all of this then? Why did I endure my traumas? Why did I endure the chilly nights? It all seems pointless now. Ha Ha"

Evelyn seemed to have lost her will to live. Klautz raised his brows.

"Indeed sometimes our troubles amount to nothing."

Klautz nodded.

'But that doesn't mean I will live a life with no purpose.'

Klautz knew the pain of living a life with no purpose. It was like his very existence was threatened when he had led such a life.

The path that Klautz had chosen to walk in this life might be a hard one but it is the very thing that shaped his existence.
