Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 265: Convinced of faults

"I wonder…," Selena whispered to herself.

What was the point of bribing Klautz? One would only find their own loss in it.

Last time, she had tried to bribe Klautz with her body and she still regretted it till date. Was there no way to atone? Not that she had found any.

It is said that when the foundations are weak it cannot stand for long. The same went with relationships. The relationship she shared with Klautz was built upon lies and treachery  in the first place.

'I should have approached him on more romantic grounds,' Selena thought as she shut her eyes tight.

Klautz was hardly someone who could be moved around by others. He was someone who valued his freedom more than anything, and thus only disappointment was waiting for those who tried to curb his will.

In the beginning it might seem like everything was going right until little by little everything falls apart.

Shizu was no exception to this rule. But selena refused to tell her that she had personal experience on this.

Selena had no idea why Klautz was sensitive about it but she by this point she knew a lot about him to know that Klautz indeed had such a tendency.

And she was right. Klautz had his past life traumas to deal with after all. Yet he moved ahead, always looking.ahead, never allowing anyone to curb his will.

"Sis?"

Shizu cocked her head to the side.

"You are going to take my side right?"

That was a question that naturally came to Shizu mind. Both of them were as close as sisters, while at the same time KLautz was her lover. She couldn't help but be fearful that Selena would turn against her.

But Selena didn't seem to think much into it.

Whose side she was going to take between Klautz and her self proclaimed sister? She chose to take the middle ground.

"Shizu," Selena clasped onto her shoulder, "Let's not let money come in the way of our relationships. Money is a homewrecker if used badly. Let just keep it for what's its good for.``

Selena had a certain force in her voice that Shizu had never seen before. A look in her eyes was enough for her, so much so that if Selena claimed that the sky is red, she would have believed it.

Somehow Selena's voice sounded very convincing. And why wouldn't it? She was targeting her emotional points to take advantage of her.

"Ah.. Okay"

Shizu looked to the side with a flash of guilt in her eyes.

'She isn't going to take sides so she won't be against me either. So it's okay I guess.'

Selena's lips arched to a smile. She might not have been good at anything but these were skills that he had honed and sharpened through the years.

But the smile was soon brought about with a sigh.

She could have stolen many but she couldn't steel Klautz's heart. She turned her attention back to the stage where her love stood. The result of was already predictable enough. Little did she know that in a place like hell making assumptions was the last thing she should do.

Klautz walked off the stage as Colt watched him go gritting his teeth. He was the opponent he had the most fun with and also he was the one who dared to ditch him.

'That fucking newbie.'

But in front of the eyes of the other second gen he couldn't do much. He would have to find Klautz in solitude if he wanted to teach him a lesson.

It was then…

"Wait!" Gozoto ordered, causing Klautz to stop in his tracks.

There was only one person in the camp who could be a threat to Klautz's life. Even Benton couldn't threaten his life just because he wanted to. But Gozoto was the exception. He had both the power and the backing, hence his words carried weight.

"You can't forfeit the battle in such a manner," Gozoto claimed as he came down the steps.

Klautz was the newbie who had always intrigued him since his first meeting. How could he ignore it, when he finds such a chance to have a show?

But Klautz wasn't going to back down on his stance so easily either.

"Why?" He asked, "As far as I know, the challengers on both sides have the right to forfeit anytime they want."

The other newbies might not know, but Klautz knew better.

Gozoto might be the sole de facto ruler of the camp. But there were some things even he could not influence.

The event of 'showdown' had a history which went almost a decade in length. The manager of the camp cannot just casually change it just because he wanted to. It had become a tradition by this point.

'As long as he is not looking to cause trouble for himself, there is no way that he is going to go through this. There must be something more.'

Klautz was convinced of this. He wasn't hoping to find a way out of this, but he must know what it is that Gozoto aims to do by coming in his way. Depending on his answer he would have tailor make his plans and follow through them.

Gozoto nodded.

"Indeed, you are right. That's what the rules are and I am sure even Ronald had informed you guys of the same." He continued, "But you, my friend, are not a challenger representing the earthlings. The challenger, Bruno Eichiel, had already been defeated and sent away for treatment. You are just someone that Colt has hired to put up a show for the audience. Since the audience didn't stop him, I can't intervene either. The actual showdown had long come to an end."

Hearing Gozoto's words, Colt couldn't help but have his lips arch into a vibrant smile.
