Shinobi From Hell

Chapter 266: A misunderstanding

Colt couldn't help but have his lips arch into a vibrant smile.

"Yes, that's right! You cannot quit by yourself until I allow it! You have to fight till the very end."

Exploiting a loophole in the laws, a vulnerability in the system to curb it into one's own benefits. Such were the ways of the mascots who knew no laws.

But Gozoto was no mascot. He was a short tempered whimsical being, whose whims could send anyone to oblivion. Indeed, even if he was the protector he was no less dangerous.

'Thanks Gozoto.'

For the current Gozoto, the death of a newbie or their injuries won't mean anything. Klautz not being a challenger only further relieved his shoulders.

But could the same be said about the service he was providing? Customer satisfaction was of utmost importance, he must make sure that Colt goes home with a satisfying experience.

If the little ones of today and the powerhouses of tomorrow owed him a favor or two, wouldn't that mean a good thing for him?

Little did he know that Colt was going to end up being a wasted drunkard in the future.

'I also want to know more about him. Is he weak or is he strong?' Gozoto thought as he stroked his chin.

The thought of some newbies hiding their abilities was within his expectations. After all, those who had cleared the tutorial couldn't be cretins, could they? But he hadn't bothered with it much. Let bygones be bygones. He wasn't paid for doing detective work.

But as whimsical as he was, there were some who picked up his curiosity from time to time.

"For real?" Klautz's nose constricted as an unbelievable look adorned his face.

How many people had fought on his stage before him? Klautz had no idea. He was too invested in Verona's boobs to keep any track of time. And Klautz didn't care about it either.

Rather Klautz's pinched expression was caused by a different reason altogether. He wasn't surprised that Gozoto was scheming against him here. In the world of hell, this could almost be considered a normal behaviour. But he was more worried about the name he had heard.

'Did he say Colt?'

Klautz turned around to steal a glance at the boy.

Colt smirked as it brought joy to him. Klautz's wide eyed face seemed to be synonymous to fear tat he had seen the other newbies feel. But he couldn't be more wrong.

"Yes, you cannot leave. Let us fight this out."

Colt said as he cracked his knuckles, jerking his head back. He had completely misunderstood Klautz's earlier reaction.

Klautz had never felt any sort of danger from him. Klautz hadn't even considered him as someone who could cause any trouble in the future.

He acted just like the generic second gen in his youthful years with just a rare dedication he hadn't seen in anyone else. And Klautz was planning to deal with him just like he would have dealt with others.

But one message changed everything.

[Stay away from Colt Ackerman.]

That was the message Klautz had received from Akihiko without being provided with any explicit reason.

'And now that fool is nowhere to be found.'

Klautz didn't trust Akihiko much but he couldn't help but be on guard now that he had learned of the boy's identity.

If he were to follow the words of the letter then the situation he was in was bad but he had no idea how bad it was or was it another trick from his side. After all, Klautz did end up on the stage with him didn't he? If this was a scheme it would have to be a carefully thought out one.

And Klautz hated variables. He hated to be tricked and used by others.

"Damn!" Klautz gritted his teeth.

Klautz wanted to curse Akihiko at the feeling of annoyance that he felt, but he stopped in his speech lest giving away more than he intended to.

But Colt misunderstood his cursing to Akihiko as Klautz cursing his own bad luck. He was a pray that had tried to escape but ti was futile after all. His luck had betrayed him.

Colt couldn't help but feel joy from watching such a sight.

'Ho Ho, you should have thought of it before being greedy. Did you really think you would be able to get away with my money by surrendering?'

Klautz was disappointed.

'Why did I even expect anything good?'

It was supposed to be a lucky day for Klautz or so was what he had thought, but it soon turned out to be one of those troublesome days. Hell had slapped hard on his face and the coins on his inventory felt heavier than ever.

Klautz's only solace was that he was somewhat aware of Colt's defensive patterns already.

Klautz sighed.

*Sigh*

But that sigh seemed to be caught up in a completely different light in Colt's eyes. It seemed to represent the hopelessness of the weak or so was what he had thought.

Klautz certainly felt hopeless but not against Colt. He felt hopeless against his fate.

'I will let your body experience what a true hellish pain is,' Colt thought as he smiled.

But he was caught off guard with Klautz's sudden verbal comeback.

"Well let's do this." Klautz said as he twisted his neck to the side, warming up before the battle.

The bullet had already left the barrel. There was no turning back now.

Klautz can fake his strength, he might be proficient in his techniques to such a degree that he could control his agility as well. But there was no way that he could fake his defence! It was an intrinsic property of his muscles and his skin. He could make himself bleed when there was literally no injury, could he?
