Chapter 10
Somewhere within the forest that is surrounded by numerous trees, Gray Allister currently go face to face against a huge rabbit beast.
Said creature is seen to be eyeing the Elf with extreme bloodlust, no doubt that its fury can no longer be satiated until it rips its prey into shreds.
"Crap." Gray gazes the rabbit beast in utter wary, being intimidated by its menacing presence.
<Were-Rabbit> (BOSS)
Lvl 13
HEALTH: 6300 / 6300
STAMINA: 1250 / 1250
MANA: 300 / 300
Looking at the beast's status bars, the Elf widens at seeing how absurdly powerful the creature is.
Indeed, it is of no jest that Gray will be facing an extremely hard battle at this very moment, considering the gap between their levels, and its insane amount of health and stamina despite its level.
If Gray wishes to come out on top at the end of this situation, then he has got to utilize every ounce of his skills and devise some sort of strategy.
"A boss huh." Gray shuddered in fear. "Well, I guess there is only one thing to do here."
Stepping with one foot on his back, Gray gulps as he tries to compose himself, readying his staff in case the beast lunges forth at him.
'Wait, don't the game have Speech mechanics?' Gray thought as he attempts to try something crazy.
"Ehehe, hey Mr. Were-Rabbit sir? Can we talk about this for a moment like civilized creatures of the forest?"
SPEECH CHECK: 14
SPEECH REQUIREMENTS: 99999 (Seriously mortal? Trying to convince a Were-Rabbit?)
<PERSUATION FAILED!!>
"Well, it was worth a fucking try."
"ROAR!!!" The Were-Rabbit answered with all its untamed wrath as it instantly charges at the Elf with quick speed.
Gray's eyes widen in an instant as the beast closes the gap between them rather quickly. As the creature was about to swipe its deadly claws towards the boy, Gray, fortunately, was able to react quickly as he Blinks himself away before the attack is thrown, giving him the space that he needed to set up a spell.
"Alright punk, you ask for it!!" Gray snarled at the Were-rabbit as he charges up an <Arcana Barrage> to deliver 5 blasts of violent Arcane Energy at the creature.
Upon receiving the attack, the Were-Rabbit immediately reacted to the impact of the spell, causing it to shriek in both pain and rage at the damage.
'I knew it.' Gray thought as he felt impressed at how powerful his new spell is. 'If it's only a single enemy, then all of the 5 blasts will be focused on it.'
As a result, the Were-Rabbit overall receives a total of 1050 damage, seeing that each blast deals 210 damage as per the skill description.
'Hehe, nice!!' Gray thought as he cheered at himself now that he knows how to beat this Boss. 'Just a few more <Arcane Barrage> coupled with my other spells and I can get rid of this beast.'
Although despite his newfound confidence, it is easier said than done since the creature proves to be a lot faster.
Having recovered from Gray's attack, the Were-Rabbit in anger charges the boy once again as the boy repeated his tactic but this time, he can only use his <Arcane Blast> because of Arcane Barrage's 15-second cooldown.
Using the said spell, the Elf fires it quickly from his staff and hand, effectively consuming all of the spell's 3 charges, thus dealing with a total of 690 damage.
"Hehe, this is quite fun!!" The Elf is now seen to be laughing and enjoying the battle instead, now that he is at the advantage of being the smarter one of the two.
Thankfully, each attack of his spells caused the Were-Rabbit to stagger in retaliation, allowing Gray windows of opportunities in waiting for the cooldown of his spells.
And with that, the Elf repeated the same tactic. When the Were-Rabbit closes in to attack, Gray Blinks away and fires either his <Arcane Barrage> or <Arcane Blast> whichever is off cooldown. Sometimes, he also utilizes the basic attack of his Mage Staff as an addition to his offense.
Finally, Gray sees that the Were-Rabbit is now low at health as he verifies its status once more.

"Well, would you look at that," Gray smirks arrogantly at the now weakened beast. "Not so tough are you now rabbit? I guess it is time to finish you off."
Before Gray could even prepare another of his spell, the Were-Rabbit roared even louder than before, causing a tremor throughout the entire forest as the birds suddenly fled from the scene.
The roar immediately sends Gray flying off away a few feet until he got slammed on a nearby tree, causing his health to reduce a bit.

'What the hell was that?' Gray groaned in slight pain.
Regaining his senses, the boy lifted his head to look at the creature.
His eyes then widen at what he is witnessing at this very moment.
The Were-Rabbit is now seen to be engulfed in a red aura with its eyes glowing red. It now appears to be even more intimidating than before, now locking its evil red eyes upon the Elf with a look of pure, uncontrolled rage.

"What the fuck is that?" Gray eyed at the beast worryingly, seeing that a new status has appeared next to its level. He could only conclude that the Beast must have grown even more powerful than before as evident by the Enrage status with the red aura and all of that.
No longer being carefree like before, the Elf turned serious as he readied himself once more.
This time, the Were-Rabbit charges at even more speed than ever before, ultimately surprising the boy. As a result, the Arcanist barely manage to blink himself out of its claw attack, causing a slight tear on the skin of his left arm which deals 60 damage.
'Crap, he's even faster than before!!' Gray thought, feeling the sharp pain at where the beast inflicted his claws on him.
Gray wasted no time as he casts <Arcane Barrage> to stop the Were-Rabbit on its tracks.
Despite the attack connecting with full damage, the beast seems to have shrugged the attack off despite feeling the pain, thus not staggering in response as it continues its quick and charging assault towards the elf.
As Gray was about to blink again to get away from its attack, a sudden chill was felt beneath his spine as he saw the system message…
"<Blink> Not Ready."
The last thing that the Elf saw is the incoming attack of the beast's sharp claws.
