14 Oakwood Village
Indeed after about a thousand steps, just as what Eric mentions to Gray earlier, the two finally arrive as they set foot on the entrance of the small village.
"Here we are Sir Gray, the Village of Oakwood," Eric said as he savored the sweet feeling of being back at his hometown after almost meeting his untimely end on the outskirts.
Gray nodded in satisfaction with a smile on his face, seeing how quaint the village is. All of the houses and establishments are made of wood as each villager tends to their own crops.
"It's a nice place." Gray comments which brought a huge smile on Eric's place.
'So this is your average village.' Gray thought with a look of utter awe, seeing as it's his first time stepping foot inside a village of a fantasy world.
"Sir Gray," Eric called out the Elf's attention, causing the latter to snap out of his astonished dazed. "It would do me a great honor if you'll accompany me to meet my family. I want them to meet the man who rescued me from the brink of death."
Seeing no reason to reject the man's offer, Gray agrees as the man's smile turned even brighter.
As Eric is now seen to be leading Gray into his family home, the villagers around the vicinity could not help but set their gazes suspiciously at the Elf, causing Gray to feel discomfort.
Although they also took note of Eric, being seen with the condition of his clothes on tatters. This resulted in the villagers gossiping around as they try to figure out the implications behind it.
With the Elf's reaction not gone unnoticed, Eric assures him. "Don't worry too much about it Sir Gray. Our village seldom gets visitors around these parts but they're good people, so their reactions are only natural."
Gray merely nodded with understanding, opting to remain quiet throughout their walk until they have reached Eric's house.
"Ah, Home sweet home," Eric said happily as the two arrived at his house.
Looking at the open window, they could see a brown-haired woman in the kitchen cooking a meal.
"Deliah!! I'm back!!" Eric shouted enthusiastically as he waves his hand at the woman inside, causing her to instantly look back outside.
"Eric!?" Deliah widens her eyes in pleasant surprise as she saw her husband coming home. Upon going outside, she immediately notices how Eric's clothes were all torn up, causing her to be utterly shocked. Not to mention, an Elven Mage is seen to be accompanying him. "Who's this and what happened to you!!?"
"It's a long story, my love." Eric understood his wife's astonish reaction. "Why don't we head on inside and we'll talk it over at dinner? My new friend and I could really use something to eat."
"Yes, of course, my love." Deliah recomposes herself as she gestured the two men to enter their home.
As they entered, a female child instantly greeted her father as she throws herself at him for a loving hug.

"Papa, you're back!!" the young girl welcomes her father back enthusiastically, truly missing him.
"I'm back, Darlene." Eric happily returns the hug, his face almost in a brink of joyful tears.
As this was going on, Gray smiles sincerely at the heartwarming scene of the family, also wondering that if he too could experience something like that in this world.
'Damn, now I kind of miss them.' Gray thought of his parents and siblings back at his original world.
Now knowing the names of mother and daughter, Gray now sees that their names are indeed revealed on their basic status.

After the family's touching reunion, Deliah tells Eric to change his attire and offers the rest of them to take their sits on the dining table as dinner is about to serve.
"It's good to be finally home," Eric said, now clad in presentable clothing. They then all sat down and waited for Deliah to set up the meal on the table.
After a minute, the food is finally prepared as Deliah puts it, together with the plates and utensils on the table.
Gray marvels at the sight of the Venison Steak being laid upon as his mouth drools shamelessly at how succulent looking the food is.
"Haha, you never fail to disappoint my love!!" Eric grins at how amazing her wife is.
"Thank you, husband." Deliah merely smiles in response, use to her man's antics. Then her eyes shifted at the Elven Mage who has been accompanying Eric. "Now tell me my love, who is this stranger that you brought into our home?"
"Ah, yes." Eric nods, now introducing the Elf. "This kind man over here is Gray Allister, the one who saved me from near-death."
Upon hearing her husband's last words, Deliah's eyes widen with extreme shock as she stutters indignantly on her response. "N-near-death?!! I demand an explanation, husband!!"
And with that, Eric proceeded to tell everyone how he ventures outside of the village just like he usually does to collect some firewood. While he was chopping a tree in the forest, a pair of Rabid Rabbits ambushed him out of nowhere. Being a man without any combat background, he was very lucky that he was able to fend himself off against the creatures since the Rabbits are not exactly known to be smart. He even manages to kill them both with his Woodcutter's Axe but at the cost of him being mortally wounded. Then he told the rest of the tale, with him finding a nearby tree to lean, thinking that he is going to perish right there and then. Thankfully, by the intervention of the good Elf, Gray Allister, his life was ultimately saved, leading to the events that are currently in as they speak.
"By the Almighty Gaia…" Deliah immediately hugs her husband out of pure relief, tears now evident on her face. "P-please don't scare me like that ever again husband!! The mere thought of being a widow brings great sorrow in my heart. I dread the day when Darlene grows up without a loving father on her side."
Then Deliah releases her hug from Eric as she bows her head down at Gray with the utmost appreciation. "It appears that you have our everlasting gratitude, Sir Gray. I'm not entirely sure how to repay such kindness, but if you ever need a roof to stay here in the village, then you are forever welcome in our household, friend."
Gray smiled sheepishly in response, kind of embarrassed by how Deliah expresses her thanks to him since no one really acted like that to him back where he came from. "Hehe, really, it's nothing, Deliah. It is the right thing to do after all."
While he was being hoarded with additional praises by the two adults, Darlene also approaches Gray on his lap with her natural childlike smile and beaming eyes. "Thanks for saving my papa, Mister Elf."
Gray returns the kind gesture as he ruffled the girl's hair affectionately.
"No problem, kid."
