The skill enhancement crystal in Lucas' hands turned into dust like some kind of energy came out of it and entered into Lucas's body.

'Ding,

          The host used a level 1 'Skill enhancement crystal' to upgrade the skill [Nightfury].

'Ding,

          Congratulations to the host for successfully upgrading the skill to level 2. Please check more details in the [Skills section].

It only took a few moments before Lucas received the system notifications regarding the completion of upgrading.

'I hope there is some good effect that I can use against the evil spirit beasts tomorrow.'

With a hopeful look on his face, Lucas opened the [Skills section] in the user interface.

'There is it.'

He found level 2 [Nightfury] in the [Skills section] and focused on it to see the changes in the skill.

'Ding,

        Skill name:- Night fury (level 2)

        Skill effect:- 1) During the nighttime, the user will have three times his original strength (Passive effect).

                            2) During the nighttime, the user can temporarily increase his strength to five times his original strength for 10 minutes. (Active effect).

'Even though the two effects improved a little, it is still not useful against the evil spirit beasts.'

Lucas shook his head and closed the holographic screen in front of him before going out of the Raindrop manor.

'Enter'

Lucas walked a few meters before saying that word.

'Swoosh'

All of a sudden, Lucas disappeared from his place and appeared in the Guardian lair.

"Master"

As soon as he entered, the shadow dragon that was devouring the corpses of rank 4 spirit beasts in front of it, stopped eating and respectfully greeted Lucas.

"How is your preparation coming?"

In the entire town, other than Lucas, only the shadow dragon knew about the huge number of rank 5 evil spirit beasts that were going to attack the town tomorrow.

There was a reason why Lucas didn't hide it from the shadow dragon because it is the strongest being in the entire town and at the same time, the shadow dragon hated the evil spirit beasts to its very core.

  So, Lucas placed some bets on it as he gave 70 percent of the corpses of the rank 4 spirit beasts he collected during his stay in the Myriad primordial forest.

As for the remaining 30 percent, of course, they went to the Star lynx, in the hopes of fully awakening its bloodline.

"I feel like I can break through to the high-level rank 5 any time; however, there is something that is stopping me from doing so."

To Lucas' question, the shadow dragon replied in a disgruntled voice as though it was dissatisfied about its breakthrough.

"Stay calm and focused. You can do it."

Lucas knew the shadow dragon was feeling a little pressurized and unable to break through because of it. So, he asked me to stay calm and focused.

"Yes, master."

Even though the shadow dragon said that Lucas could feel that the shadow dragon was still thinking about it.

"Let's forget about your breakthrough and see what we can do tomorrow; however, before he finalises our plans, let's finish the evolutions of some lynxes."

After thinking for a moment, Lucas said those words and went out of the guardian lair and brought Beck and three lynxes along with them.

Since Lucas didn't know whether the evolution would be successful or not. Even if was successful, he still didn't know whether they would become rank 5 spirit beasts or not.

There are so many 'Ifs' and Lucas knew with these many 'Ifs' it would be impossible to create a perfect plan. So, he wanted to finish the evolutions of the lynxes.

"Young Master, the shadow dragon became so powerful in just a month."

Lucas didn't summon the shadow dragon when the representatives attacked them. So, Beck was surprised to sense the powerful pressure from the shadow dragon.

"Yeah, it grew powerful in a short time because of this lair and the countless rank 4 spirit beast corpses it eats."

Lucas nodded his head at Beck as he explained the reason how the shadow dragon grew so powerful within such a short time.

"Beck, are you ready to evolve your lynx?"

Lucas wanted to start with Beck's lynx and of course, the whole process would be done manually by Beck as she could upgrade her system after evolving one of her spirit beasts.

Even though Lucas was helping her with what types of ingredients she needed for the evolution path she chose for her lynx, in the end, it entirely depends on Beck.

"Yes. I am ready, young master."

Beck sensed something was not right with Lucas as though he was worried about tomorrow and concluded that Lucas was not telling the complete truth about tomorrow's fight.

So, she wanted to become as strong as possible to help her young master to the best.

"So, which evolution path did you choose for your Woodland lynx?"

Lucas not only gave all the list of ingredients to Beck but he even gave all the possible evolution paths for the woodland lynx in her hands.

"I choose Ancient forest lynx. According to the information I have, an ancient forest lynx is both an attack-type and support-type spirit beast. So, it will be very helpful against the huge crowds. Be it spirit beasts or evil spirit beasts, it will contribute a lot."

Beck said the evolution path she chose and even gave the reason for it, making Lucas reveal a slight smile on his face.

'This girl….she caught me with my expressions that tomorrow's battle is going to be a huge one.'

Lucas silently thought in his head as he started guiding Beck with the evolution process of the woodland lynx.

"First, let the lynx soak in the blood of Forest-type spirit beasts."

"Throw in the three ingredients: Reaper stalk, Forest vine honey, and Mortal bamboo."

"Now, place your hands on the woodland lynx that was relaxing in the stone furnace and inject your energy."

Lucas continued to guide Beck in a calm voice as she followed it without any error.
