SUPREME VISION SYSTEM

Chapter 33 - I M SIXTEEN FOR GOD'S SAKE!

"Where is Vin?" He asked right away.

His mother knew about it Vinas he lived only a few blocks away from his house but she would not know about Matty or Chris because he only met them through the game.

"Strangely I had not heard from him, son even after your accident news broke out. I guess he might be busy. But he will come to see you soon. I will give him a call, do not worry your tired mind out." Ivory consoled her son.

Cole after that stopped asking any more questions for it obviously would sound strange to his mother and the doctor who was standing beside them, listening to their conversation.

It, of course, would sound as if he had trauma or something if he tried to come clean with his mother who was looking back at him expecting something more to hear from him. He was just curious about why had not Vin contacted him yet if he got into an accident in this real-life out of the game one. That was strange.

"Any more questions you got, young man?" The doctor implored, patting Cole's shoulder.

"I guess not for now?...but yes why is my vision so hazy?"

Cole rubbed his eyes trying to have a clear view. All these times, he had been having a very bad, fuzzy, and unclear view of the entire scene unfolding before his eyes. He wanted to know. He had no eye problem.

"What? What is the wrong doctor?" Ivory intervened, concerned.

"That is unusual. Maybe close your eyes for so damn long is causing your view to be shaky right now. With time, it should be alright and if the problem persists, I recommend getting an eye checkup from one of our eye specialists. I will recommend your name to Doctor Leslie myself. Getting an appointment with her is almost impossible. "

"That is so kind of you doctor. " His mother smiled genuinely. "Thank you so much."

"Mention not, Miss Sullivan. Just drop a text when you need that eye checkup appointment. " the doctor said.

Cole noticed that the middle-aged doctor was taking a fancy to his beautiful mother to which his mother was unaware of. He did not like it. He did not want his mother to be hurt by anyone, anymore after the tragedy with his stupid idiotic father.

"Sure doctor. I will drop by if the problem prevails." Ivory let out.

"Ok then. I will let the nurse know to start with the discharging process. Till then you guys catch up. " saying that the doctor headed out.

Ivory Sullivan nodded and turned to see the doctor out. She could not help herself and mouthed out, "Good day, Doctor William!" The doctor always did that and so she felt like she should too.

Doctor Willian turned back to voice put the same, "Good day, Miss Ivory." and with a gleaming smile, he headed out finally.

Cole quickly held his mother's hand to get her sweet attention. His mother smiled and sat beside him, placing a sweet kiss on his cheeks to his much dislike but he could not stop her.

"Do you have the doctor's cell phone number?"

"Yes... Why? Is there a problem?" His mother implored.

He knew that...he knew such things would happen once he was out. Pervert men just could not take a damn rest and stay the hell out of his mother's way. Just because she was still very much young, beautiful, they just could not stop themselves buzzing around her like damn honey bees.

"Delete it, mother." He voiced out sternly.

Ivory narrowed her eyes at her son, "Why? How will we contact him then when we need that eye checkup appointment?"

"Why did he have to give you his contact number in the first place? This is unprofessional. Don't you see him hitting on you for God's sake?" Cole grunted out.

That took his mother by surprise as she continued to gape at her son not saying anything for a brief few seconds before clearing her throat when the realization hit her.

Perhaps it was true...why did he need to give his contact number to her in the first place when the nurses were available in the hospital twenty-four multiplied by seven?

Why the hell she not realized he was exceptionally being nice to her? She parted her eyes off from Cole as she finally realized why her son was being concerned.

"..then...then what will happen to your eye checkup appointment if you really need it?" Ivory asked.

"Just give his number to me and delete it from your cell phone, ma. " Cole said.

His mother shook her head positive after following what her son asked her to do. Cole felt bad for being too direct with his mother when she had been waiting here for him all night.

"I m...I m sorry mom. It had to come out this way."

"It's alright son. I know you are only looking out for me. I could be pretty bad at this as you know what happened with your father. " Ivory giggled nervously.

"Speaking of your father. I dropped him a text but he has not responded yet. I have no idea why. He might be busy, we never know. Being a TV host is too much work..."

"...we do not need him, mom. " Cole cut his mother short when she started blabbering.

He was aware that talking about his father always hurt her. But she could not erase himself from their life because Cole knew that he resembled his father in every facial position which was why he hated himself for being a constant reminder of his mother's hurt and betrayal.

"Well did you...did you pay Mr.Evans off?" Cole questioned trying to divert his mother's mind.

"No..not yet. How did you come to know Mr.Evans paid for all these?"

His mother retorted back as she remembered not mentioning to him about any of these. She knew that Cole was conscious of their financial crisis as the money sent by Gerald, his father was not enough to run the entire household.

She had yet to tell him that the money stopped coming from him a few months back and so she had to take the offer as a pole dancer in the nearby strip club in the dark alley. It was her secret from her son.

"Well, mom we cannot afford a single nursing room. Did you ask him for it? You know we do not need help..."

"...I did not ask from him. He insisted and the man was very persistent. " Ivory interrupted her son.

"I know why he is a persistent mom. He wants you of course. That bastard man always had eyes for you. " Cole seethed in anger.

"Cole...mind your language. " Ivory shouted, whispered. Her voice was in between.

"And every man is not after your mother. He genuinely wanted to help. Do not forget that he saved your life. " Ivory continued.

"Whatever mother. " Cole rolled his eyes.

He was out only for a day and men started to line up behind the back of his naive mother right away. Damn! Men were really thirsty. And it got worse after the news spread that she worked in a strip club. She yet did not know he had already come to know of her secret.

He just did not know how to ask her out, approach her. He did not want her to feel embarrassed or anything. He was not good with words either and did not want her to get the wrong impression. He did not want her to feel that he was ashamed of her working in a strip club.

He just needed to know why all of a sudden she chose to work there...why suddenly they needed a bit of more cash? Because the money sent off by his douche father and her salary from the diner just worked fine before. He was curious.

"Can you see clearly now than before?"

His mother's question bought him out of his reverie. His vision...it was still hazy and it was uncomfortable as if he was seeing the world with one hundred forty-four pixel quality. But as the doctor said it will get better later.

He still had no idea or clue though why his eyes were behaving that way. He never had an eye problem. What was wrong with it? Perhaps as the doctor said, everything would be fine with. So he just shrugged it off.

"It will be alright. "

"If it continues to stay like this, please do not hesitate to drop a text to Doctor William only because he was hitting at me. " his mother stretched.

Cole bobbed, "Yeah mom. I know. I m not a baby. "

His mother inched closer and dropped a sweet kiss on his forehead, "You will forever be my baby. "

"Ahhh....mom. I m going sixteen for God's sake." He groaned in annoyance.

When the nurse came asking for signatures of his mother, Ivory went out, and Cole took her phone to casually only to be confronted with the truth.
