SUPREME VISION SYSTEM

Chapter 32 - WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

Cole waited as he watched the time ticking away on his wrist turned to one second and Chris dropped the grenade at the same time giving revive to Matty.

"One second Chris." He voiced out.

Chris had already dropped the grenade by then and dropped his M416 while pulling Matty further away from where they were standing.

As Vin saw Chris dropping the grenade, he turned back on his shoes and ran as far as he could from being there. His breathing quickened as he heard that something dropping on the ground. He closed his eyes praying he was furthest from the blowing ground.

BOOM!

The sound echoed in the air. The land started shaking, vibrating. The drum drum sound started and everything blackened.

The time turned to zero seconds and the land started vibrating, shaking as if a possible earthquake hit the place.

Cole did not know if they dropped the grenade or not right in the moment for he tried to ask them but he got no answer.

"Hello? Guys? You there?"

"You guys hear me?"

"Are you all alright?"

"Dammit answer me. F.u.c.k can you all ever hear me?"

Cole did not know what exactly happened but he was certain something had happened as the shaking of the ground continued.

No one was in their right state of mind as everyone ran elsewhere screaming for help, yelling for their life. Nobody had any idea what exactly was going on. Time was over, it was for sure.

"Hey...Chris, Matty, Vin you guys ok? Anyone...anyone....can you all hear me?"

Cole was certain by now their communication connection was broken or something as a storm rushed in. It was very strong blowing people out of its way.

Cole lost his balance as the shaking intensified and fell on the ground, closing his eyes and opening them right after.

"Ring the bell when he wakes up." The nurse said and left.

Ivory shook her head positive. She just did not know how much more time before her son decided to grace her with his presence. She was getting restless.

She had stayed one whole day in the hospital without taking a bath and she felt dirty. But then who would look after him if she went to freshen up.

Mr.Evans sought to stay back but Ivory denied as the man was already doing too much. He was looking after all the insurance papers of the house and also replaced the damaged furniture with second-hand ones which he said were gifted to him by his friends and he had no space in his house to keep.

Ivory declines to keep them but the man was good in persuading even the toughest soul. So she remained quiet and patiently waited for Cole to his senses.

"Cole you are awake!"

"Oh my God! You are really awake." Ivory pat her son's head.

Cole took his sweet time to process where he was. His vision was a bit hazy, unclear as he looked around, taking in the view of the white walls and the face of the woman watching him so close. He could recognize... recognize her...it was his mother.

Mother?

His mother?

What was she doing here?

How did he end up in a white colored walled room with his mother?

Where the hell was he again?

"Did he win...did his team win?

" Doctor....nurse...please come here. My son...he us awake."

Ivory started shouting, calling out for the doctor or the nurse. She was joyed by her son awake but then she was also anxious about why was he taking his sweet time to respond.

Doctor? Nurse?

Why was his mother calling out for the doctor or the nurse?

Was he in a hospital?

He had no idea or clue whatsoever.

Where was Vin?

Where were Chris and Matty?

What happened to them?

Were they alright?

What happened to the game?

"Do not shout madam. This is a hospital." The nurse declared coming in followed by the doctor.

'Hospital!'

'Hospital?'

'He was really in a hospital?'

Cole could not believe himself. He was in a hospital? Did they win the game? What was he doing in a hospital? What happened to his friends?

The doctor checked his vitals as they asked him to show his tongue and they also checked his eyesight. When everything was confirmed alright, the doctor turned to talk with the mother of the patient who was still recovering from the shock.

"Everything seems alright, Miss Sullivan. If you want to discharge right away then I could ask the nurse to get the paper ready right away." The doctor recommended.

"If everything is alright then I would very much like to take my son home, then doctor only if you ensure everything is really alright. " Ivory said.

"Oh, I assure you everything is alright, Miss Sullivan. So shall I ask the nurse to get on with the paper works?" Doctor questioned.

"Sure...sure, doctor. Thank you very much." Ivory smiled.

It had been more than twenty-four hours, the cheerful woman went out with a single smile on her face and now that her son was alright, awake and looking back at her, she had every reason to smile back again.

"Wait...why m I in a hospital?" Cole finally ended his silence.

He needed to be answered for he was confused as hell. He needed to know if they won the game and most importantly what happened to his friends. He needed to be answered...quick answers at this point.

Ivory looked back at her son who spoke for the first time after entering the hospital. Her ears were dying to hear his voice.

"Yes son, you are in the hospital after the mini blast that happened."

Blast?

"What blast? And what are you doing here mom?"

It took him by shock when he saw his mother's face the first thing when he opened his eyes. It was obvious he must have had come out of that gaming reality world. But how?

When? Where and how? What happened to his friends?

Cole asked, trying to sit up. The doctor and his mother helped him as he leaned his back on the mattress. His body felt sore as if he had been sleeping for a very long time now.

"Yes you forgot to off the oven and it led to a fire downstairs. I got a call from Mr.Evans who called the firefighter and ambulance for you. You lost your consciousness breathing in the smoke. But everything is alright now, honey."

His mother explained, giving him his sweet time to process everything. He just continued to stare at his mother in a monotone with no immediate reaction that implied he remembered somehow but he could not.

He could say that he remembered the big hit, the big sound after which he woke up in a very different world...a world of gaming to be exact which he thought to be unreal for a very long time and only after a few bunches of proves, he realized it that indeed it was very much real.

"Where is Vin?" He asked right away.

His mother knew about it Vinas he lived only a few blocks away from his house but she would not know about Matty or Chris because he only met them through the game.

"Strangely I had not heard from him, son even after your accident news broke out. I guess he might be busy. But he will come to see you soon. I will give him a call, do not worry your tired mind out." Ivory consoled her son.

She was worried that Cole would take the news in the wrong way. She did not want him to feel any way that his father did not care about him anymore or anything like that.

Cole after that stopped asking any more questions for it obviously would sound strange to his mother and the doctor who was standing beside them, listening to their conversation.

It, of course, would sound as if he had trauma or something if he tried to come clean with his mother who was looking back at him expecting something more to hear from him. He was just curious about why had not Vin contacted him yet if he got into an accident in this real-life out of the game one. That was strange.

"Any more questions you got, young man?" The doctor implored, patting Cole's shoulder.

"I guess not for now?...but yes why is my vision so hazy?"

Cole rubbed his eyes trying to have a clear view. All these times, he had been having a very bad, fuzzy, and unclear view of the entire scene unfolding before his eyes. He wanted to know. He had no eye problem.

"What? What is the wrong doctor?" Ivory intervened, concerned.

"That is unusual. Maybe close your eyes for so damn long is causing your view to be shaky right now. With time, it should be alright and if the problem persists, I recommend getting an eye checkup from one of our eye specialists. I will recommend your name to Doctor Leslie myself. Getting an appointment with her is almost impossible. "

"That is so kind of you doctor. " His mother smiled genuinely. "Thank you so much."

"Mention not, Miss Sullivan. Just drop a text."
