SUPREME VISION SYSTEM

Chapter 58 - THE CURE!

"I get it, it is unusual...very unlikely for a stranger to walk by and call your name out but you know what..."

"...what?"

Cole implored in a stern voice trying to act he was not affected by any of her tricks. Who knew if she was hiding a damn revolver inside that surf white coat?

"As problems come to you without informing you just like that opportunities and solution comes too in the same way. Only the wiser being shrewd make the right use of it and apply it to solve their problems but..."

Cole had no idea why the lady was telling him about all these. Did he know about his goddamn problems? Oh! He would not be surprised if she did by now...

"...but the one, not wise ones, they continue to sulk in shock just when the problems hit them and even when the solution comes knocking on their door..."

What..what exactly did she mean by solution? The opportunities? He could see a little grin on that covered face of her as he watched her lips curved into a tight smile through the transparent black dense mask.

"Which one of them is you, Cole?"

He could not decide which one he was. Of course he was shocked but he was more startled by her then. He regretted his decision now of staying back in the park all alone.

"Very fine then...I suppose you mean to say you are the type who would like to continue to sulk in shock. I will leave you to it then."

The woman said it, there was a hint of irritation on her voice as she said the sentence out.

Perhaps he hit her threshold of being nice to him when he was giving her only silent treatment.

But he did not know what was she talking about when she kept saying solution and opportunity to the so called problems that people face in life. He wanted to know.

He knew that it was good that she was now seemed like going away from him. Yet again he wanted answers...answers to the question like how did she know his name? And that right at that moment he was going through a problem...a very big problem of his life and had no solution for it.

If she meant harm to him...she could have done that long time ago. He was all alone and the snow was still falling. She could just have forced him and if he struggled, she could just have pulled the trigger of her hidden revolver.

So breathing in the cold musky air, he braved himself as he readied himself to call out to her.

She waited for him a while but when she did not get any response, she turned her back, starting to walk away.

It was then Cole mouthed out.

"Do you know my problem? "

The woman stopped on her track but did not rotate around to face Cole. He got up from sitting on the bench and strode forward.

"Do you know my problem too and the solution to it just like you know my name?"

Cole implored walking up to her. And stopped only a few inches away from where she was standing, her back facing him.

Cole waited for her reply thinking that it might come any second and that was when she nodded her head, turning back to face him.

"I do. I have a solution...the cure that your mother and you are looking for..."

"...how? How did you come to know about me...my problem?"

Cole intervened right away. The woman only chuckled and moved her right hand inside her coat pocket. He was afraid she would pull out a gun from there but instead, she pulled out an identity card, showing it off to him.

' VISION HIGHTECH RESEARCH '

"I m a research scientist of the VISION HIGHTECH RESEARCH.  And we have finally made something that we suspect could help people like you...looking for hope when you feel like there is no hope for you."

The woman spoke. Cole tried to read the identity card more, trying to read her name and all that but since his vision was not clear, he could not see anything more than those big bold capital word letters, the name of the institute. Plus she was quick to put the identity card back inside her coat pocket.

"So...so how did you come to know about us...me especially so particularly?"

Cole asked getting confused. He knew it sounded so creepy at that moment. Everything that woman was saying sounded so creepy and gave dangerous vibes.

"I was in your hospital and going through all the files stating about patients who have eye problems. I overheard you and your mother when you guys were talking with Doctor Leslie."

"Wait...were you that creepy nurse stealing glances of us from time to time pretending to read the file inside Doctor Leslie's office?"

Cole questioned. He noticed it. In the corner, there was a nurse that kept looking at them when he and his mother was talking to Doctor Leslie in her office.

She seemed suspicious like she was not just a normal nurse doing a normal nurse job but something so much more than that.

" Yes. I was that. You got me."

The woman nodded her head accepting what Cole suspected her as.

"You know if I report you right now, you could be sued for trying to intervene in privacy talks between a doctor and patient?"

He enquired, crossing his arms, trying to show her that he was not just a dumb kid apart from undergoing the temporary blindness disease.

She did not say anything right away and just laughed out, her laughter echoing out in the air, the silence surrounding the park being broken.

"Do you have a proof, young boy?"

She mocked asking the question. But not to mention that she was impressed by talking with the young man here. It was not usual for her to just share two-three talks with anyone. She was a busy woman....a woman on a mission.

Cole did not reply and just continued to look at her. He did not look away when she was eyeing him with her scrutinizing gaze.

"Let's not waste anymore of each other's time. Do you want to get better, boy?"

She interviewed, slipping both her hands inside her coat pocket. She was a very tall woman, unlike his mother who was just five feet somewhere.

The woman seemed like she was above five feet eight inches or something like that. He had not much idea in that. But she was three or four inches taller than him.

"My answer depends on what you have for me that would help to solve my problem."

Cole crossed cut her. She just smirked and then bought out something inside of her left pocket. This time a box.

Cole did not do anything and his eyes were glued to the box, a deep black metal square box. It was a small box...more like a case.

"What is this?"

Cole could not help but ask. He was getting curious. This woman was not your ordinary day today female figures you see walking past by you.

"The answer...the solution to your problem. "

Her answer was simple. And then she threw the box up in the air. Cole was astonished as he probed his head up to see and his eyes widened to octets when he saw the box halted in the mid, floating in the air, static.

What happened to gravity? Cole thought in his mind. His mind screamed the question, echoing everywhere in his insides.

"Open!"

The woman mouthed and the box opened after emitting a line of blue light in every direction. Inside from it, two optical transparent oval lenses came out.

" About the gravity not working....it is working. It is just my optic waves holding the box up in the air. It is no magic, Cole"

The woman tapped on the sides of her eyes as he could see faint greenish lights emitting from her brown eyes.

"It is reality!"

Cole was in huge shock encountering all that to himself. Things. Things he never ever saw.  Things that he only show in movies, more likely the science fiction movies...the Marvel and Dc movies.

"This is the highest advancement of technology you are viewing. We at the VISION HIGHTECH RESEARCH are researching optic waves and many more, its wonders. "

The woman started to explain. Cole remained quiet. She tapped on her eyes back and the box fell down on the ground with the lenses inside it.

Cole bent down to pick it up and stared at the box, now in his hand, closely. The box that was just hanging up in the air was on his hand now.

"The lenses inside that box is the cure to your short partial blindness. "

As the woman said, Cole looked up at her.
