SUPREME VISION SYSTEM

Chapter 59 - I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!

"This is the highest advancement of technology you are viewing. We at the VISION HIGHTECH RESEARCH are researching optic waves and many more, its wonders. "

The woman started to explain. Cole remained quiet. She tapped on her eyes back and the box fell down on the ground with the lenses inside it.

Cole bent down to pick it up and stared at the box, now in his hand, closely. The box that was just hanging up in the air was on his hand now.

"The lenses inside that box is the cure to your short partial blindness. "

As the woman said, Cole looked up at her, listening to all that she was saying at the same time, curiously eyeing the box. He tried to open it but could not. It was locked.

"It has a voice detecting sensor lock. It will open only after the sensor hears my voice. It is to keep the lenses safe. "

The woman reasoned. Cole gave up trying to open the box. And forwarded his hands to her, giving the box back to her. She did not take it from him.

"If you want, those lenses could be yours. "

She offered politely. But Cole was now stuck in thinking why was she offering it to him out of everyone in this world.

He had no money too. He was not someone's rich kid. Wait, did she think his bastard father could repay her? If she did then she was highly mistaken.

Plus she already must have known that he had no money for she was right there in the disguise of a nurse in Doctor Leslie's cabin when he and his mother were discussing it.

"You know that  I have no money right? "

Cole asked trying to remind her if she forgot somehow. People do forget things. She responded by shaking her head in a positive indicating that she was aware of the fact that he had no huge sums of money with him.

Then that got him into thinking if she already knew, why was she offering him the latest technology if vision?

It was of course not for kids like him right? They obviously could not afford it. Was she giving some kind of briefing about her product?

Or maybe she did some research about him and his biological father. She must have thought that sharing blood with the Great Night Show Host, Arnold McCain, he must be loaded?

If she did then she was so in the way of her hopes being shattered by him. He had nothing to do with that bastard father of his.

" You should  know that I will never ask for money from my biological father more like  land from him."

Cole started and waited for her to snatch the box from his hold and walk away furiously muttering him a 'd.i.c.k' for wasting her precious time.

"Wait, you said you have no father back in the hospital?"

The woman questioned him back with confusion. She did hear them talking to Doctor Leslie very clearly. They said they had no father.

Cole was taken aback by that kind of response. So she did not know? He did remember saying to Doctor Leslie in her office that they had no father. He asked his mother to lie about it.

If she did not know who his biological father was, then why was she showcasing him all that about her latest vision super technology?

If she heard them clearly in the hospital cabin that they had no father, she must have of course heard also the part where they stated that they had no money.

They were somehow feeding themselves and running the household kind of family, not the ones who were wealthy and had it all. Or even the middle-class ones who had some money saved with them or hope they could arrange for such kind of money in a week time at least.

"You do not know about, Arnold Mccain?"

Cole could not help himself but ask that out. She expected him to immediately rush over to him and ask him how did he know about that famous television host? Just like everyone did.

Instead, she did not say anything and resumed to watch him with confused eyes. As if she was not expecting him to ask that question at all. Plus she looked so much confused right then.

"Who is Arnold McCain?" She questioned.

And Cole got the huge blow as she probably was the first one who he met did not know about that famous bastard. What in the world? Was she for real?  He wondered.

"You do not know who Arnold Mccain is?"

He asked again to confirm but she just shook her in negative indicating she did not know about it.

Weirdly Cole felt good coming to know that not everyone knew about that goddamn bastard who was so proud of himself.

"Why does it even matter to know who that guy is? Do you want help or not?"

Ivory continued to look out of the front four expecting for her son to turn up anytime now but he just never did.

She was getting afraid, anxious, scared. What if...what if something might have had happened to him?

"Ivory, get back inside. When he will come, he will knock at the door. "

Rafael said as he approached Ivory from inside, trying to get the crying mother off from the door. She had been standing there almost for more than a few hours now.

Once she returned home, she called for him. It took about five minutes to get here and then she narrated everything to him from A to Z.

He knew that she had no one to share her grief with and he was happy and felt very much welcomed when she recited everything out to him.

He confronted her saying that he was just angry. He was a teenager after all, who did not think much and acted on impulse right away.

Ivory kept saying that it was all her fault that she was not a good parent, she could not give everything out to him. She always showed him nothing more than poverty. And she was ashamed of it.

The worst of all she voiced put his nightmare of turning blind forever to him when it was something at that moment, he was trying to ignore. She hurt him. She scared the young little boy away.

"You have been waiting there for hours now, you will catch a cold."

Rafael said from behind and waited for her to respond in any way. Ivory did not say anything and continued to look out for her son, waiting for him.

It had been too long now. Where was he? The snow was falling furiously too. The storm was light in nature but still, it was a storm.

With the recent children getting kidnapped from their locality cases, she did not feel right. She felt like what if..what if they caught her son in their trap too?

It was all her fault...she thought as a soft sob left her mouth. She tried to muffle it but no use, Rafael already heard it.

He sighed and got closer to her. He opened the buttons of his warm coat and placed it over her shoulder. She crouched feeling a little shock.

"You will not listen to me and get inside anytime soon. This coat will keep you warm."

Rafael said as he steadied the coat around her petite frame. Ivory could not help but turn around then and look up at the kind man who had done nothing but kept comforting her even when she had nothing to offer him.

She sometimes wished..wished that Cole's father was still here with them. All these things would never have had happened. Cole would not have grown up to be an isolated boy, with his mind and body growing to hate his father.

She knew that her son was hurt as a little boy and he was hurting now too and she could not do anything to help lessen the pain. What kind of a mother she was?

"I know you are back to thinking it is your fault but please drop that thought, Ivory. Cole already told you, you are the best mother. Why are you doubting your own son's words?"

Rafael asserted as he voiced it out. He knew so because those past few hours she only had been mouthing out how it was her fault and how much if a failure she was as a parent...as a mother.

But he knew that it was not so for he saw how hard she was working to provide for herself and her son. He did know about the fact that her ex-husband had stopped sending the money, the price of child support now too. So she was all by herself.

"It is almost going to be dawn, Rafael. I m so much more worried now. I just do not know what to do."
