SUPREME VISION SYSTEM

Chapter 62 - KEEP MUM AND STRAIGHT!

Cole did not voice all that internal thoughts of his and got inside the passenger seat. The inside of the Mercedes was warm as she turned on the heater and started the engine.

"May...may I at least know your name???" Cole asked.

"Did you not read it from my identity card?" She asked.

"I have lost my clear vision as you know already so I could not see," Cole stated.

"That is why you need the lenses more than anything."

She asserted, looking at him for a brief second and then turning to keep her eyes at the road once again.

Cole nodded his head knowing that he did need those lenses. He just had no idea if they would only help him correct his vision or do much more than that?

He wanted to ask but he knew the woman did not like answering questions by now. She just returned them with more questions from her or hanging him around with long shitty answers, he had no idea of.

He could tell that she was anti-social just like him and had no life other than from her research project as she did not know who Arnold Mccain was.

He meant like who did not know Arnold Mccain? Only those who never ever opened their television or had one at least.

"Where are we going again?" He asked.

"Just anywhere isolated place. "

Her answer was short and simple. He thought she would be taking him to her research institute and fit the lenses there but her answer was totally different.

He did not know or had any idea of why they needed to head to an isolated place to fit the lenses. He could just put them on by himself if she stopped driving the damn car so speedily.

" Do not worry, I m not kidnapping you."

She murmured, smiling at his way. He just groaned out, leaning his head back on the car seat.

It was after a while, she applied the brakes nowhere and they stood in the middle of nowhere probably.

Cole had no idea as no signboards were stating where they were exactly. She took off from the highways and drove inside an alley so he had no idea where they were at that point.

It was already dark. The full moon was shining brightly. The narrow road was empty with large fields on the sides. There were no one apparently here present. It was not a residential area either as the huge plot laid empty.

"Perfect place. Out from the city noises."

She sorted after drawing off her seat belt and letting the ceiling of the car open. Cole looked up as the bare sky got bared to his gaze.

She reached out for the dashboard, taking the box containing the lenses, and looked at Cole.

"Get inside the backseat. "

Oh! It sounded so creepy!

"Get inside the backseat. "

Cole did not bother protesting although it did sound wrong on hearing that. He got out and opened the backdoor of the Mercedes. She got off from the driver's seat and followed him.

They both sat on the opposite side. Cole eyed in her way as she opened the box once again the blue light greenish waves got emitted out of the box as she mouthed.

"Open!"

She did explain to him that the box was voiced locked for the safety of the lenses. What he did not understand was if these were just your normal vision correction lenses, why did it need so much protection or security?

But he just decided to slip that question too in the back of his head and instead focus on what she was doing next.

"Lay your head down on my lap." She ordered.

He was taken aback thinking about what was she saying. But when she did not say anything and kept eyeing him with her usual straight face, he knew that she was indeed serious.

So he just grunted out in annoyance but made sure to not let her know how uncomfortable he was feeling back now. He just closed his eyes and laid his head on her lap.

"Open your eyes and do not close them for straight twenty minutes. It is a strict order. If you do, I will not be able to set the lenses up. So you better keep your eyes open the entire time even when it feels uncomfortable. "

She let out which made Cole open his damn eyes and somehow listening to all whatever she just voiced out, he felt scared, afraid a little bit.

What was the need to set up the lenses? Who sets up lenses? Were they not the normal vision correction lenses?

But then he also remembered that these lenses were high-tech bionic lenses so maybe it worked a bit differently than those normal ones.

He had no option but to oblige to whatever she was asking him of. He had come too far to return it and deny any of it. He just hoped that it worked on him and his normal vision would return again.

She pulled out her iPhone and set it in a timer of twenty minutes, placing it on the seat. She then also pulled out a hand sanitizer or something, Cole had no idea what was it but the bottle looked like it.

She sprayed it over her hand and then again slipped her hands back inside her coat pocket to take out something which looked like a small remote control like a square.

It looked like those remote controls, small found with the remote control toy cars. He did not know what it was used for here.

"So are you ready?" She asked.

Cole had no other option but to shake his head in a positive statement that he was ready. She then mouthed an 'alright'  and drew out one lens from inside of the box that was still hanging in the air, as if gravity had no impact on it.

Oh, he did remember her explanation that she was holding the box up in the sir with her eyes emitting optical waves and all that which he had no exact idea what they were. He was not good at physics.

"Try to hold your eyes open. I m telling you again." She said.

"I will try to unless it hurts more. " Cole replied.

"No, give me your answer in a yes that you will keep your eyes no matter what." She intervened.

"Will it hurt more than I m expecting it to? " Cole once again asked.

"Do not act like a silly little kid. I do not know what are your expectations. I m putting it in. If you close your eyes, you will only put yourself in danger."

She asserted and it was enough for Cole to know that he had to bear it all and keep his eyes open.

At this point, he was really regretting a little for just straight up agreeing to an offer from an unknown lady and coming along with her too for it.

Maybe..maybe he was being too daring. Now he had to bear the consequences of it. He just hoped that while fitting the lenses, she would not let them break it inside his damn eyes causing him serious problems.

How could she put a lens with such poor lighting? Under the moonlight? Oh! How could he forget that she had super eyes that could lift boxes up with optical waves?

Perhaps she could see clearly in dark too and such poor lighting. Maybe he would be able to see that clear too once he ad those lenses. He expected he did.

Her right hand held his face and her forefinger and thumb stretched the skin near his eyes...his right eye.

A yellow light emitted out from her right eyes as if scanning his eye before she put the lense in.

"Will my lens be able to emit such lights like yours too? "

Cole mumbled out. He was curious. It would be cool if it did. He hoped since they were no ordinary lenses, they did.

"No talking. Keep mum and straight."

She muttered, eyes focussed on his eye, and then she lowered her other hand to out the lens in finally.
