"The sword, huh..." Alexandra looked away.

It seems like everyone is very much interested in that sword and it didn't sit right with her.

But she thought about it. The sword is of legends and holds great power. She didn't use it to its full potential in her memory but used it as a regular sword.

Something of such power is like a beacon on top of a hill. Everyone would be attracted to it. It might be out of curiosity, or out of the will to do good using such a powerful artefact. Some might try to get it out of evil intent.

She wanted to know more about Arioch's intent.

"What do you suggest I do, Arioch?" She asked with an open mind. "I am but a single person."

Seeing the desolation brought by the warmongering acts of Maximus, she is disturbed. She knows something needs to be done to stop Maximus and wondered if it might be the time for her.

[But what can I do?]

"A single person?" Arioch smiled and a lot of meanings hid behind that smile.

"The river..." He rubbed his knee and looked at her. "This tunnel is where the river used to flow... But you... For our soldiers who needed water, you changed the direction of the river reducing the original path of the river to that of a stream. Do you remember how awed everyone was and how it improved the morale of our men..?" Arioch's eyes looked at the ceiling of the cave.

"You were standing on the ridge of the mountain with your sword raised above everything. And with a wave of your sword, the river split and flowed where we needed water," Arioch's face had a sombre expression as he looked at her.

Alexandra shook her head as she didn't remember it. And for a short fraction of time, she saw Arioch's eyes narrowing and he bared his teeth a little.

[Is he angry?]

And at that moment she remembered Luke donning the same expression as she stood on top of the hill. The soldiers started chanting her name out of joy.

But Luke's angry look made her withdraw. She thought she did something wrong and from then on she never stood at the front again. It was one of the reasons she agreed to Luke's proposal of using her summoned beasts in the war.

It was after that incident Tubby started to openly voice his thoughts against Luke to her.

And something more important happened at that time.

"Luke asked me to pretend that my summoned beasts are his... He suggested it would protect my secret!" she almost shouted it loud as she remembered it.

That day she remembered vividly. His amber eyes were clouded and was filled with concern for her. Under the tree that was filled with thorns, he stood close to her and his breath was warmer than the warm breeze as it caressed her reddened cheek.

'I worry for you, my sweet Rose... The more exposed you are the more others would get curious about you and... Your fragrance... men would easily find out who you really are. I wouldn't want other men to know that you are a woman. I wouldn't have the strength to...' he bent and took a sniff at the nape of her neck.

She leaned on his cheek as she wanted more of this intimacy. She didn't know how but she wanted to hug him closer and nestle in his warm chest.

'Our men and I should be on the same side. I wouldn't want to fight with them...' he said.

She didn't understand what he meant. 'Why fight them..?' she asked.

'You are...' he let out a sigh that was so deep she thought she might melt with the hotness in his breath.

'Do you even realize what you are doing to me..?' his lips grazed over the little part of her neck peeking out of her shirt. In her abdomen she felt a pain so sweet she couldn't understand what it was. And in that moment she wanted to strip off and get Luke naked too.

[That was a wild thought!]

"He did a lot of wrong things, Alexandra," Arioch's voice tuned her out from her past memory and she fanned her face that was flushed.

[I should be hating him for how he betrayed me!]

"And he still is," Arioch stood near an oil lamp.

The fluttering light made aesthetic contours on his face and Alexandra for the first time could realize how handsome Tubby is.

"What are you planning to do, Arioch?" Alexandra asked. He seemed like he is a man with a plan.

"We fight him, Alexandra," Arioch fisted his hand on front of his face. "We fight him and topple him from the top!"

"Fight?" Alexandra raised her eyebrows.

"You saw the destruction he wrought, Alexandra. Filled with pride, he thinks that no one can topple him. He even got to you this time. But we will have to prove him wrong. We should prove him that although he is strong, we are stronger. We should bring him to his knees!..."

Arioch went on and Alexandra started at him for she only saw hatred in his eyes.

Hatred and... Pride.

"You hate him..." she said softly.

"Hate him?" Arioch gritted his teeth and walked closer to her. "I do." he looked down on her. "I do hate him for what he did to me!"

Alexandra flinched as she felt the darkness emitted from the hatred Arioch held for Maximus. She didn't dare to assume that the hatred is reminiscent of their past life. She felt that Arioch is hurt this life too by Maximus.

Her heart hurt and her nose tingled as she felt the urge to cry - She wanted to cry for Maximus.

He always was sweet to her. But he could be this cruel to others. If she didn't see those people, she wouldn't believe that the man with the amber eyes and the sweetest smile would be able to hurt a fly.

But he is the Brute!

"Me? You don't, Alexandra?" Arioch pressed his lips and his face twitched. "Right! you don't remember... You don't, but I do..." he walked away with trembling voice.

"You should hate him too, Alexandra... For everything..."

Alexandra stood up and walked closer to him. "Tell me what he did, Arioch. Tell me so that I can remember," she placed her hand on his arm.

His tall figure looked lonesome and his shadow cast on the floor floated on that muddy floor as restless as her heart.

"You want to know?" Arioch turned and looked at her. He held her arm and leaned closer to her face.

"He took you from me!" he shouted and the little stray hair on her face fluttered and her cheek flushed. "I would forgive him for everything else. But not for this!"

Alexandra's heart started to beat fast. In his eyes she saw possessiveness.

[Was my Tubby like this always?]

She felt like something is odd; something isn't fitting right.

"So you're going to fight with what army, Arioch?" she asked.

She didn't know how it would help the oppressed by going against their oppressor who is very powerful, one who beat them already. They are already left with skins and bones and how will they  find the means to fight?

She's taken a glance at the discipline in Maximus' army. What would a bunch of disgruntled people do against the well-trained soldiers?

"We'll fight and we will win, Alexandra..." He placed his hands on her shoulders. "With your help."

"You will be our army!"

"Me?"

Alexandra chuckled. It was not a chuckle of mockery, but of frustration. She didn't believe she could do anything.

"Alexandra," he cupped her cheeks. "I stopped you last time from using your beasts. But this time, I plead with you to get help from the beasts. Lead the army. Stand in the frontlines and show them your power - The power of the Drovarys!"

"You want me - a woman, to lead?" Alexandra asked with wide eyes.

"Yes," Arioch nodded and pressed his forehead on hers. "It's high time you are allowed to lead!"

Alexandra felt butterflies in her stomach. And it was not the good kind of butterflies. She was scared.

"You deserve it this life, Alexandra. Don't let him stop you this time. Stand up against him and humble him!" Arioch proclaimed.

Alexandra saw the determination in his eyes and she was too stunned to answer him. At that time, there was a knock at the door and Arioch walked away.

Alexandra sat on the chair in deep thoughts. She doesn't remember a lot and she doesn't know a lot. But she still has the responsibility to better the lives of everyone in the realm.

She massaged her temples in deep thoughts. And then she reached a decision.

She opened the door and walked out to relay her decision to Arioch. Through the tunnels she heard muffled voice of Arioch as he was speaking with someone.

"She will help us to get help from the Uilaeg Elves... I still have a way... She won't..."

Her heart skipped a beat hearing Arioch's voice that seemed to be scheming.
