System : Game World

47 Pauli's Roo

Although the day started quite good, the remaining of the day wasn't fruitful at all. Searching beasts deep into the valley, nothing came out. Tang Ling searched everywhere for a couple hour and was now resting at the Uruvian Bear's shelter.

"Only the strongest and fittest shall survive. Uruvian Bear, you lost so everything you had (your corpse included) shall be mine." Tang Ling murmured and used the moment of respite to think of something.

It wasn't a huge secret to know that Bao Feng City was built on wasteland. Here, the ground is dry and cracked from lack of water. There were no food produced in the city due to the extremely bad soil, being nicknamed death soil, even the grassland around the city was the result of the combined effort of powerful Fluxer big-shots and nothing could really be grown on here. Except resilient species like a cactus, a Dry Despair Tree and the common-seen grass, there were few, very few beasts roaming around the region. The Uruvia Bear was part of the exception since it had a near water source.

It was clear that hunters could not base themselves off just from beasts. There would only a rise in number once a decade which signify the beginning of a Beast Tide.

There are probably commissions or something to pass off as side income... Tang Ling thought for a little and unconsciously took his phone to search for informations...

"Shit. I forgot that there's no wifi here."

Hunters couldn't survive just with hunting beasts. Either they do odd jobs in the city or collect materials from outside the city. Something like precious materials or herbs ?

Precious herbs and materials...

Although not so knowledgeable in herbology and metallurgy, Tang Ling had heard of some plants that only thrived in extreme conditions in the news.

Such as...

"A man has found a bunch Firefly flowers in his garden !"

"Shock ! Twenty thousand credits for an herb !"

"A rich noble is willing to pay 100 000 CREDITS for a Double Gus, a necessary component for his daughter's treatment !"

Clickbait titles like that were often fake but sometimes, had a shred of truth in it. For example, the noble's daughter suffered a rare disease which could be solved with medications which required Double Gus as it was one of the core ingredients to create the miraculous panacea of medicine.

The rest was up and Tang Ling got up for an another round of exploration. It was then that he saw a small root on the ground. It felt quite familiar... Something mentioned in passing by the teacher two years ago.

"Two years after an beast outbreak containing thousands and millions of beasts, the great Paulin found a root which appeared after it ended. It is now known as Paulin's Root, a first-tier Flux plant. The root only appears in the wild or near areas where there had been invasions and there had been some mild success in an attempt to grow it in an artificial environment. Although it is considered an extraordinary plant, it is barely so..."

[Wild Paulin's Root (Rare)(Maturing in one day)

Type : Supplement

Effect : Beast Evolve (Epic)

Description : Discovered and researched by Paulin Flemmings, the Paulin's Root is an evolutionary ingredient for beasts. In the world of Beasts, it is an heavenly Epic herb that can change their fate. Can be used to create Strong Vitality Potion.]

"The Paulin's Root's use for humans is limited. There had been a few instances where it was brewed into a potion to increase the overall fitness level of the person. However, it is quite different for beasts; if they can eat it, the root triggers a strand of gene inside the beast. The beast would then evolve into a more stronger version of it."

He then proceeded to show an image of a Fu Dog before and after eating an artificially cultivated Paulin's Root.

If there's one word to describe it, it would be : Ugly.

If it was two : Very ugly.

If it was three : Hideous but strong.

The small inoffensive dog had become a monstrous dog but it is one with strength. With one bite, he shattered a Fluxer's arm and with his paws, killed the researchers behind him and escaped. One day later, it was killed by a strong Protector and its strength is estimated to be around four and a half stars beast. If it was the Aurora Bear who ate it...

Tang Ling felt a little chill at his spine. It would probably become a savage beast that even regular Fluxers cannot deal with !

The Aurora Beast was so close to become a menace !

Anyways, what's with this Strong Vitality Potion ?

[Strong Vitality Potion

Effect : Gives the drinker the passive skill [Health Vigor Lifeform] (Only effective for the first time)

Ways to create :

1. Find the recipe, the ingredients and attempt to brew it. (Entry in Alchemy, Potion Making)

2. Trial and Error (Master in Alchemy or Potion Making is required)

3. Buy the Cube of Alchemy for only 25000 yuan and the required ingredients (2000 yuan) !]

Bruh. Why did the third option seems like the neighbour's salesman promotion ? And what was this Yuan thingy ? A sort of currency ? Is the System trolling me ?

Anyways, even though he couldn't exactly eat it raw, the potion (if he has the chance to concoct it) is extremely amazing ! It's literally converting the precious herb's ability for beasts to humans !

[Health Vigor Lifeform : A superior form of life that cannot be understood the ones below. Adjust Constitution health conversion to 1 : 500.]

The simple description could not hide the magnificence behind the potion's effect. Right now, his Constitution was 1 : 100 to Health. With minor but frequent adjustments with levels, he only had 600 HP.

That's an unexpected gain ! But he would need to wait another to it to mature.
