System:Of The Ugly

Chapter 47 - The Knight, The Horn And The Mighty Steed Which Was His Horn?

Alas! We have come to this.

Let me tell you a story of a Knight, which in our world were but a work of fiction, an imagination from books and movies brought to life.

It all started the late morn of whence I awoke from my slumber in the branch.

The world's sun now for the fourth day met these eyes of pure twinkling blue.

<Good morning Master!>

"Morning!" I yawned a wide-jawed, "They're all still there!" as I looked on down to the peaceful animals below.

"Well you guys kinda make for a huge inspiration for peace and brotherhood!" I commented.

I made my way down using blink, the nature breeze whistled and blew my private as I let its glory out, letting water flow.

He deserved it for the steamy night before.

<Master! Aeyai had finished crafting!>

"Oh! That's a good start to a morning!"

<It's 11:00 am!>

"No shit mom!"

"How much bullets are we talking?"

<Showing Inventory.>

And in my eyes I saw a table,

[Inventory]

And below were a hundred squared boxes where only one of them was with an item.

[Ozicallum Elephant Bullets]

[1104/1104]

[Type: Bullets]

[Item Class: Rare]

"Rare? How is it rare?" I jerked my shoulder twice to completely drain my bladder, "I thought crafting takes some time to level up and upgrade?"

<Affirmative!>

<Aeyai crafted Ozicallum Elephant Bullets because Master had acquired the blueprint. That is the only setback to my crafting functions.>

"Damn! That's overpowered as fuck Aeyai!"

Turning back my mouth was curious to see what kind of taste the purple berries offered but as I walked closer to the bushes my eyes lined with distaste as I find the animals were huddling in a pile.

Some had their furs spiked as the big cats growled, I could just tell that they were alarmed and all of them faced a single direction which was towards the mountain path that lead down to the grey barren land.

"Pathetic cats! Here I thought you were the apexes of the food chain!" I said with lidded glare of disdain to their cowering huddle.

I knew that they feared not a little Magus, so there was something that made this big pussies shudder into bigger pussies and I had already expected Hellspawns were the cause.

Tip-toed I crept to the edge of the plain, creeping to a prone I peeked as subtle as a predator does in sight of prey, with a slight motive of showing the big cats behind me how their ancestors do and as my eyes saw what was down below, "Hahah-Hahahahahah!" hysterical I shredded them a laugh, to the swarms of Frog-tailed Hellspawns crawling up like maggots up the mountain path.

"And you were,," I said, quickly turning to the animals, "by those? Wahahahah!"

My hysterical legs which thumped the grasses. I was squirming with laughter; only much later I reformed, "Ok! Okay! Just give me a sec...!" I huffed to catch my breath, "Let Daddy handle these hahah! Frog-tails!"

My honour would not even allow me to use a proper finger-gun for these little uglies so by the power I vested upon my little pinky finger, I shot a Fireball which I let scorched the ground so it could melt the maggots row to row.

A magus yawned, all the while swatting these Insects and since Mary loved animals I took pride in defending these peaceful berry loving mammals.

Swarm to swarm I fried them all, yet it irked a Magus as they seemed unending, bored as I was I then decided to hasten my pace in eradicating the little buggers, "Whelp! I needed an exercise too so,,"

Not a moment later, I made a plan as then I laid down at the initial slope of the path, "You know what to do right?"

<Affirmative!>

"Let's roll!"

So down the path a menacing Magus rolled; a rolling crushing log, crumbling the little uglies with every dizzying turn.

<Adenaline Rush: 2.8%>

"This is ~ rather fun! You better be right about not making me puke Aeyai!"

These ugly Hellspawns were numerous indeed yet my road rolling technique made short work of their seemingly unending wriggling swarm until I managed to crash at one of the Ozicallum pillar as I finally rolled to the barren ground way down below.

Since Aeyai activated Refraction Guard I sustained no damage and the neat quirk of the skill was that it took my spinning head as a debuff which it removed spending one instance.

However, just as I gotten up from my act of being a rolling log, I was immediately ragdolled and sent flying by what my senses couldn't even had the time to comprehend, luckily the last instance protected a Magus from sustaining yet another damage from the impact although the force was enough to still sent me flying.

High and far in the air I was sent spinning,

<WARNING!>

<Master you are going to crash!>

My eyes saw nothing but blurry visions but in my desperate struggle to avoid whatever I was going to crash at, I immediately used blink to where I imagined was the ground, although the momentum I was being sent flying with would still had its effect but I figured the damage would be lesser than crashing and surely enough and luckily I might add, I blinked to the grey barren ground although I was stumbling a couple of feet and smashing my body until I finally stopped right after.

<You have taken 206 dmg!>

"Man! ~~ Fuck whatever that was." said I, on my knees and a little light headed, "Woodguard!~~" I casted as I nearly hurled, its active time was enough to make me regain my senses while I was under its protection.

I already had a hint of what were waiting for me outside, it was fairly obvious as Aeyai already had me informed and the trembling ground was proof enough of the numbers as a little pebble jumped and quaked right besides me.

There was no escaping the action which was to come, so I brought out a loaded and hungry Bang-Dem, "Baby! There are meals waiting for us outside!"

The active time of Woodguard was now fading and slowly the magical wood that a Magus had summoned vanished and finally I saw; Hideous beasts with vines of red veins and dark red bodies; In a ground shuddering horde;

Crumbling flat hammer for heads, the Crocodilians, two legged freaks with thick tails for an excuse of a head, a single legged abomination with two bear like paws as its trusted arms and many more trembling the earth as they hopped and rolled and charged at the little Ol'me.

It would be dishonest of me to say that I wasn't overwhelmed but, "Heheh!" I grinned as my heart burned and throbbed a battle hungry beast of my own.

<Adrenaline Rush: 5%>

<Master Aeyai can now be online upto 10%>

"Fuck yeah!" roughly, I breathe in air through the nose, "LET'S DO THIS!"

And in an instance I aimed the colossal Bang-Dem at the closest of them,

*BANG!*

A single shot enchanted with Fireball felled one of the Crocodilians and another ugly abomination, melting and crumbling half of both of their bodied from the head, yet it wasn't enough to crumble them entirely.

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

*BANG!*

Rapid casts and shots as I emptied the whole cylinder all imbued with my spells. I managed to proc a single critical strike with my fourth bullet which I enchanted with Iceblast, which was enough to crumble and kill three of the beasts under tier fours, a blast which freezes and shattered their hearts right after.

Yet it was like pulling a single hair in the head, their numbers were far from being dwindled.

And surely I knew my position was unfavourable to say the least, I was out in the open.

I knew of the only stand I could've made and that was the narrow mountain path which somehow could offer me a better chance, a place so tight that their sheer numbers would not be of much a threat, however I worry of the animals above yet still it was my only way.

Praying that the animals would hopefully had scattered away by the time I would have made my stand.

No time to waste into thinking, I then blinked the closest I could to the path from where I was.

Still the ugly motherfuckers were gaining on a Magus, all too reckless and restless, like hungry beasts eyeing a vulnerable meal.

"Again!" I roared and cast, my grin did not waver instead with every passing second it grew wider and wider.

Having casted Again! my blink was reset, immediately blinking a twenty feet away from the embrace of their unsightly jaws.

Finally! I now stood a reloaded gun-slinging Magus in the narrow path.

*BANG!*

One I downed cracking its hammer head, shattering its heart in a shot with a Pure damaged hit yet they never still ended, a horde of death had awoke, come to take my head.

....

By the piles they pushed and climbed, one over the other. Mindless abominations through and through they cared not of any other, bearing their fangs on a Magus; And I slowly taking steps back, I too never wavered my fire, letting the lead from my bullet shower in their faces but I might have to bore that numbers was a game that I could in my current state had not hoped to beat.

Until;

High through the mists my ears were stunned by a loud thundering horn.

From the corner of my eyes I then spied; There! On top the mountain plain; stand a man with dark silver armour etched with blues and golds, blowing an astronomical blow-horn.

The winds made way for its echoes to reverberate throughout, even the thick fog proved unworthy to halt its sound as they scattered apart.

Still as the booming sound of the horn quavered the sunken barren land, I saw as his ginormic blow-horn morphed into a mighty steed of black and wild hairs.

You may not think it real; and I meant that with every word, even I was stunned; I - a man who saw predators eating berries along their prey.

From high the straight-falling steep, the Knight charges, and on top he rode his mighty steed which galloped to the mountain walls, majestic beyound reasons those strong legs refused to abide to gravity's laws.
