THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

As we were going upstairs of the fortress to wherever they are bringing me, I noticed that Anriette and K'nor weren't with us. I suppose they brought them somewhere else. I should have told them to give some meat to K'nor. This guy is so huge now he needs to eat at least three times a day or he will start whining everywhere he can.Especially since he couldn't go and hunt for the past few days.

On the third floor of the fortress, we stop in front of two huge doors decorated with gold and silver linings embedded in the doors. They go everywhere but as you follow them, you realize they are actually forming the church's insignia. The guy who did that is really good.

The two doors open with a loud sound, like they weren't meant to be opened. The inside is filled with chairs. Is it a church? 

"Welcome back, guys."

"Hello, Rebecca. We brought you something." REBECCA? Nah, there is no way, right? 

"Don't call her like that when they are other people!"

"Stingy!"

"Shut up, idiot!"

"Fufu. I don't mind, you know."

"You…" I can't believe it. I simply cannot believe it. You two, here. What kind of curses is this?!!! No, no even a curse, this must be a joke, right?

Excafol said that sometimes when you believe too much in something yo ustart seeing it even if it is not there. Is that perhaps what is happening? I don't think I ever wished to see them so it should not be the case here but how else am I supposed to interpret this? 

In front of me are the two last people I wished to see in my life: William and Rebecca. My parents.

"And he is?" William, you have changed. You are more muscular than before, and what's that unkempt beard? Even the sides of your hair have turned white. That armor suits you though. Though it has the church's insignia on it, so I suppose you are working for the heroes now. But you, you are the biggest surprise... 

"He must be their new friend."

"Friend? He has Gedrid on him. He must be another assassin."

"You think so?"

Rebecca. That hair color…Why is your hair so white and shining. And what with that weird tattoo on your forehead. It doesn't suit you at all. No, in the first place, you being a saintess is an insult to whatever god you are serving.

"He is a guy we encountered near the border when we were pursuing the Red Gnoll mercenaries' group. Sadly, he killed them all, and their leader along the way." Wait, all those guys weren't even the half of their whole group? What kind of bandits were they to be so numerous? They must have been creating big problem ofcthe heroes themselves were sent to dealt with them. I wonder. Would i have been able to take care of tge whole group alone? If not, maybe with Exc... It is no good thinking about tje dead now, is it? Besides, I have a more amusing matter in front of me now. 

"What?!! Impossible!"

"Yeah, we thought so as well. But he has a rare beast as a pet so it might not be that impossible. Besides we had already captured a bit more than half of their members before that so the odds are even greater."

"Even so, to defeat their leader... He was not that weak. My men had a very hard time dealing with him and his dual storm even when he was alone."

"Hey, say something. We are talking about you here."

"Aha…"

"Eh?"

"Ahahahaha!!! Oh god!! This so funny!!"

"Did he go crazy?"

"You guys, get away from him!!"

William pounces on me almost instantly. You think I am dangerous? Well, that is a good decision, man. You always made the right decision, right?!!!!!

As his hand reaches for my neck, I kick his face and use that momentum and spin and strike him again with my knee. But he blocks it at the last moment. I jump a few meters back and land on a chair.

"Yeah, this is really funny. Funny in the most revolting way possible. I don't think I have ever been so amused in my life."

William spits out some blood from his mouth and places himself in front of Rebecca and the heroes. Wait, are you really trying to protect them?

"Protecting. You of all people…"

"Who are you? This will be the last time I ask."

"Protector William, please calm down. You are too reckless right now."

"I am sorry, Saintess. But your safety always comes first."

Yeah right, her safety always comes first. That something you can say again. After all, she is your precious wife, right?!

"No, just attacking someone without a reason."

"Ah…As I thought. This is too funny." I sit on the chair where I landed. Let's get comfortable a bit. "You, a saintess with her ever so protecting commander. You guys have bounced back really well, you know. How did you do? Bribe? Threats? Or…" It is true that oir family was a noble one. That uncle must have helped somehow. 

"How dare you!!"

"I am not sure I understand."

"Kevin, what are you talking about?"

"You heroes should stay out of this. So, can you tell me? How two of the worst scums of the world manage to-"

William deploys his physical aura and takes a stance, like a furious beast ready to strike.

"Those will be your last words." Surprisingly enough, his aura is not as great as Farner. But I should not be overconfident, or else it might end up like last time.

"Is that so." William disappears with a shockwave, the chair around him all flies, then he reappears in front of me, his fist filled with physical Angas. This looks a bit like my Lightning fist. But if it is, then you chose the wrong person to use it on. I use Disperse and get on his side. If only I could use Darkness, he would have been finished.

It seems he followed my movement, his body is quickly turning towards me but I was sure you would be able to do that. You are my oh so dear father after all.
