THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

I went to the pet's house and took K'nor to the smithy. Everybody once again screamed with joy and surprise seeing him. Sophia, especially, almost melt on him, caressing his fur. Which reminds me that both his fur and my hair are way too long. I should find a way to cut them.

After Sophia took our measurements, I left the place but Claire's husband followed us.

"Let's go to our house for lunch." Is what he has written on a piece of paper he showed to me.

"Hm…Okay." It seems I can't escape that after all.

I follow him and, on the road, people look at us, or more at K'nor, like owls.. Their eyes are about to pop out of their sockets. Thankfully, K'nor doesn't seem to be too hungry because we pass by a stall selling fresh meat but he didn't even make a sound. He just follows me happily with his tail waving every time I pat him.

"You are the best."

"Woof!"

We walk with Claire's husband until we reach the guild again. Then we enter the alley in front of it and reach a two-story house which doesn't look too complicated. He knocks on the door four times, then two times. After that, somebody comes and opens the door. A woman dress in green and white clothes. She looks like those from our mansion back in Tatradum.

"So, they have a maid, huh…"

The maid has her face lowered when she opens the door but when she lifts it and sees K'nor, she unconsciously shudders for a second. Well, he has the same effect on everyone so I would have been surprised if she didn't react.

"Good afternoon, master. A-are they your guests?"

The big guy just makes a thumb up and enters.

"I see. Then please, follow me. Ah, there is a bigger entrance at the back for your pet so please let him enter through there."

"Okay."

"Woof!"

"Hii!" The maid almost jumps back when K'nor barked. It's so funny.

I go around the house with K'nor and there is indeed an entrance at the back which is bigger. When we take it, there is an anvil and a small furnace in a dirty and cold room. Does this guy work even at home?

We enter another door almost as big as the first one and find the living room. There is a big couch on the left side, with three windows right above it. At the center, a dining table just like the one in our mansion: ten chairs round on all sides of a magnificent wooden table. There are also some pots with flowers on the corners. The atmosphere of this living room is really peaceful and soothing.

K'nor goes and lies down near a flower pot. The maid from before isn't here. I wonder where she went. I sit on the couch and look around. In front of me are stairs that bring upstairs. There is also a door before those stairs. And a really good smell is coming from it. I think even K'nor must have smelled it because he is looking there as well. It must be the kitchen.

After a minute or two, the door where that delicious smell is coming from opens and somebody comes out.

"Eh? K-K-Kevin."

"Hey." So, you were the one making that delicious meal, huh?

"I didn't know you were coming."

"Well, I stumble upon…" I still don't know the name of Claire's husband. How did I even remember she is called Claire?

"Kevin?"

"No, nothing. I was at the smithy to show them the gnoll we killed and the crystals we collected earlier."

"AH, I see. You must have discussed it with Sophia, then. She is an expert in armors and weapons designs."

"Yeah." So she knows that other girl?

"Is Uncle Frank back as well?"

"Yes, I came with him, in fact." Yes! There you have it! Frank. That's his name. I should make sure to not forget it again.

"AH, okay. I have finished preparing the meal so as soon as Aunty Claire will be back. We will eat." Anriette has the biggest smile I have ever seen on a face. It could practically shear off her cheeks. I wonder why she looks so happy.

Five minutes after Anriette went upstairs, Claire comes back as well. She knocks the same way as Frank and then the maid comes and opens the door.

"Good afternoon, mistress. We have a guest."

"Good afternoon. A guest? Ah, Kevin!!" When she sees me after entering, she shouts my name so loud even the maid got surprised.

"Hello."

"How are you?!" She comes to me and embraces me while wearing her red armor.

"I am fine." I push her away, though with a bit of difficulty. She is certainly not weak considering how slim she looks.

"That's great. Hey, guess what, Anriette cooked an amazing meal today. It's like she knew you would come. You are going to lick your plate after you taste it. Trust me."

"Really?" She didn't cook at all during all the time we spent together so I thought she wasn't cooking. Well, let's hope the surprise will be pleasant.

"Yeah, I am telling you. Anyway, give me a minute to change. I will be back in a minute."
