THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

Chapter 166 - CHAPTER 166: INTERCLASS BATTLE (5)

The next day, I go to the special seats alone. I prefer it like this. Walking with Farner keeps me on edge. Especially with what happened yesterday.

Since I am alone, there is no need to greet Cordel and the others so I directly go to the seats. There, I find somebody else already sitting. A young man, a bit younger than William if I had to compare. He looks somehow familiar. There is a woman in blue armor right next to him.

The man waves his hand at me then looks at the stage again. I answer the same way then sit.

Thirty minutes later, as the first two teams for the semi-finals enter the stage, Farner also appears..

"You…"

"Good morning."

"Would it kill you to wait for me?"

"No."

"Then why can't you do it? What kind of barbaric human are you?"

While we are talking, the man from earlier stands up, walks the stairs near his seat, and comes in front of Farner. He then bows together with the woman behind him.

"I greet the hero, savior of humanity." He then takes Farner's hand and kisses it but the only expression on Farner's face is annoyance.

The man then stands up and looks at the woman behind him for a second. She then brings out something from her bracelet. A cloth of some sort.

"I see that you are still as respectful as ever, Cecexs."

Cecexs? Wait, I heard that name before.

"Unlike my sister, I don't think I can get used to speak with you without formailities, Miss Saint Axelandria."

"Well, it's better than some people." She takes advantage of the situation to fire a glare at me.

"I see. Well, if there are some rabid dogs that can't even acknowledge your divine presence, would it not be better to teach them."

I am a rabid dog, huh…

"I am trying but let's just say it isn't easy."

"Well, if you ever need help. Also, here, my wife made this recently and wished that I could pass it to you."

Cecexs gives Farner the piece of cloth and when Farner extends it, I see some kind of design on it. It's quite beautiful with a myriad of colors and shapes.

"She has had a new hobby of embroiling ever since our second child was born."

"It's really beautiful! We will make sure to visit you soon and say thanks."

"Oh, don't bother, I will transmit her the message."

He then turns around and returns to his seat. He doesn't forget to stare at me with cold eyes while moving through.

As if it wasn't enough, Farner sits right next to me and I can hear him making a sound as she does.

"Such a busybody."

"What?"

"Nothing."

The first semi-final is opposing Cordel's team against another one where I don't recognize anybody. We can barely hear the referee's speech with the screams of the public as the match starts.

Cordel is the first to move, launching at a guy holding a greataxe with his scythe. The guy has good reflexes and manages to block his attack but still receives a fireball right on the head. His helmet protected him enough as he just staggers slightly. Cordel then falls back a bit but an arrow from another guy comes flying. He blocks it with his scythe's blade then moves to the side, leaving the field to Peter who uses a special script: STING.

It is a small and pointy mass of soil that looks like an arrow's tip. They are as small as those in fact but there is an awful lot of them. As he shoots them all, the team in front can only try to block as best as they can while it pierces through their armor. One of them is even hit on the head and immediately disappears from the stage, leaving only a blue light behind.

"They have lost."

Apparently, they have somehow managed to adapt Rebecca's teleportation system so that I would transfer any students who got hurt more than necessary out of the stage.

As Peter's attack stops, the three other members of the opposing are already pretty much defeated. Lanuvel then goes as well and swiftly takes care of them. The fight didn't last two minutes.

"The difference of level between omega and gamma is that great. In my times, a lot of gamma students were stronger than the omega."

Cecexs makes a comment and then Farner turns around and answers him.

"You say that every time but I heard that your dearest wish at the time was to be an omega."

"I was merely trying to appeal to my father."

"If you say so."

One hour later, Keltia's team won in a similar fashion, one of her teammates used a large-scale attack, a script that shot dozens of lightning arrows.

"It looks like a lot of people tend to create scripts that can hit a large area." Or so I feel.

"Yeah, that's true. Most people like to hit a lot rather than precisely. Even the first script Excia created can hit all people in an area the size of our dorm."

"I see." Now that I think about it… "I never saw you guys using scripts."

"We don' use it against humans, normally at least."

"But then, if one day…"

"I won't ever use them against you."

You and your weird way of saying things that makes my heart beat like a mad horse. As I stare at her, she blushes a bit then looks back at the stage. I can also feel Cecexs's glare from behind.
