THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

After another hour of wait, the finalists finally enter the stage. Cordel's team is the first to enter under the heavy shouts of the public.

"Cordel!! Cordel!!"

"Lanuvel, I love you!!!"

"Peter, please smile for us!!"

Then, Keltia's team enters, and the scream becomes so loud the whole coliseum trembles. But unlike earlier, a single name resounds now.

"Keltia! Keltia! Keltia!"

Like a queen just entered her palace, the whole coliseum resounds and vibrates with Keltia's name. I wonder why.

"It wasn't like this yesterday or earlier.".

"That's because they were waiting for the finals. The Koersombre household did a lot of good and helped the people of this city a lot together with the royal family so they are all really appreciated here."

"I see." Well, too bad I am not a Koersombre anymore. I would like to know how it feels to have people scream my name like that.

After they all take place, facing each other. The referee gets off the stage and raises his hand. I can't hear what he is saying with all the screams but as soon as he lowers his hand, Lanuvel deploys her ice script and the whole stage's floor is covered in ice. Her sword as well is covered in ice, showing the silhouette of a mad sword, ready to shear and tear apart everything.

The crowd screams even more as they see that. Doesn't it give them headaches?

"It's ice!! Look, it's ice!!"

"Look at her sword!! It's covered in ice as well!!"

Like she has done what she wanted, Lanuvel smiles mischievously. She clearly looks satisfied. Then as if to follow her, Keltia also raises her spear in the air and a gust of wind comes sweeping the whole coliseum like an eagle. Her feet lightly escape the floor's tiles and a hurricane of sort envelops them and her spear. Wings made of wind appear on her back as well.

"Kyaa!!!"

"Keltia!!!"

"A fairy!!! She is a fairy, mom!!"

"Keltia!! Keltia!!"

I am afraid this place might collapse from all those screams and shouts.

"Keltia…Keltia."

Among the noises, I suddenly catch Cecexs's voice behind me, I turn rapidly to confirm it but the poor fellow quickly shuts his mouth and looks at the horizon, leaving only his attendant who looks at me with sorry eyes and a little smile.

Although Lanuvel opens the dance, it's Keltia who makes the first attack. She pounces on Cordel with high speed. Since she isn't walking but floating, her speed is actually increased. Still, Cordel blocks her attack with great timing and counter almost instantly with a light Ray. Keltia dodges but Lanuvel then appears behind her, only to be stopped by a Keltia's teammate. He manages to block her ice sword with his shield then counter with his axe. Lanuvel evades and attacks again: one, two, three… She starts a flurry of strikes on him, pinning him down. Samson then makes his moves, firing his lightning arrows but they are mostly stopped by Peter who had already moved into a good position to counter him.

He fires his Stings while moving towards Samson, forcing him to stop. And last but not the least, Esteressa is already punching through the shield of the last of Keltia's teammate. A tall guy using a large shield. She isn't even giving him the chance to raise his sword. The gauntlets she is wearing look really solid, associated with the physical and lightning Angas she seems to be infusing them with, they are certainly dangerous and hard to block.

"They won't last long if they don't break Cordel's team balance." Especially since Keltia might not be able to use her script for long. It looks like a script that uses a lot of Angas.

"You do make interesting analysis, Kevin."

"What? You thought I was stupid or something?"

"Fufufu."

"You…"

"It's my revenge for yesterday."

"Right."

Three minutes in, the intensity of the fight has multiplied exponentially. Opponents have changed as well. Keltia is now facing Lanuvel, while her teammate whose shield got reduced to smithers by Lanuvel's continuous attacks, is trying to hold off Cordel. Peter and Esteressa have changed opponents as well and are handling them with ease.

"Keltia has lost." Just as Farner says, Esteressa punches Samson so hard he flies in the air before disappearing.

"No!" Cecexs's scream resounds on our small room while Cordel offs Keltia's other teammate as well.

Without even waiting for a second more, Esteressa pounces on Keltia as well, making it two against one. She does her best to dodge Lanuvel's sword and Esteressa's punches but there is only that much she can do against them. Esteressa's punch finally breaks through and she strikes Keltia's stomach. She staggers but manages to evade the next strike and then falls back.

As she does, her script stops as well. She is sweating heavily and panting. Esteressa pursuits her without giving her a moment to rest but her final teammate comes to Keltia's help and pushes Esteressa with his shoulder.

"As I thought, those scripts consume a huge amount of Angas." Not only Keltia, even Lanuvel kneels on one knee while sweating, her script stopped as well.

"You can say that again. Even in the best conditions, they can't use it for more than five minutes or they will faint from Angas depletion."

After that, the finals finish without much surprise. Keltia and her teammate did their best for another minute but Esteressa finished them without much trouble, Cordel or Peter didn't even have to intervene.

"Esteressa has a monster stamina."

"Yeah, she is about the only one to keep my pace when we train."

If she can really keep Farner's pace, then she really is a monster. I think I could follow through, though. It's not like I can feel muscles' pain.

As the fight ends, Esteressa raises her fist in the air and shouts. The whole coliseum starts an ovation as she does.

"Well done!"

"Great!! It was great!!"

"Shit..." Once again, I hear Cecexs making a comment. Of course, he would be angry that his sister didn't win.

Nevertheless, it was an excellent and really interesting fight.
