THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

Why?!! What is happening?!! How can I feel this much pain?!! What was that flame?!!!

"ARGH!!!" 

I fall to the ground while screaming in pain but I can hear his whips coming. I gather my strength and evade once again, getting away from him, as far as possible. Then when I check my arm, it is completely burned, dark zs charcoal, with veins of blood flowing out of it here and there. Moreover, it hurts! It hurts so much!!

"Ahahaha!! How do you like my flames, you worm?! It burns away and pollutes your Angas, making you weaker and weaker while you whittle in pain. I will make you taste the result of your insolence for staining my hearts!!"

Those flames burn Angas itself?! Then this is bad. This is really bad!! I don't only feel weaker slightly now but if what he said is true, I should find a way to handle this guy rapidly.

I try to heal the wound but it doesn't heal at all.

"A lowly worm can use light Angas?!!! Who are you?!" The monster is so surprised that I can use a healing script that his voice changes as he screams that. "Even so, only those chosen by the gods can heal you! It is pointless! Now give me my hearts back!!!"

He pounces on me again and I jump back, avoiding his slash again and again. I can barely raise my burnt arm and the pain is so intense I would like to scream my lungs out but I can't. If I lose focus even for a second, I am dead.

How long has it been now? I have been fighting this thing for at least thirty minutes now. I can feel my Angas depleting at a fast pace now and the pain in my arm is so intense no I have a hard time seeing or hearing things. 

"Huff…Huff..."

"Lowly worm!!"

My breath is rough as well. I would like to counter this guy somehow but I can barely dodge his attack now, even while using my draconic power. He is so persistent the only thing that is saving me is the fact that his aim is generally not accurate. If those claws were aiming just a bit more precisely, I would be minced meat by now. If only, if only someone, if only Farner was…

"No!!!"

I counter a whip attack and send a crescent bullet on that monster's face. Another whip catches it in flight and it explodes.

I can't count on other people. And especially not her. In the first place, why did I even think about her now of all time?!!!

While I was lost in my thoughts, the monster's whips all converge on me at the same time. I try to fly backward but my body hits something.

Suddenly, while the time was flowing slower and slower around me, I hear her voice. Why? why have you come?!!

The monster is directly hit by a pillar of light which ramifies everywhere like thunder, almost hitting me in the process. What kind of attack was that?!

Then, a silhouette lands in front of me like an angel. My savior has come.

"Are you okay, Kevin?"

"AH?! What a stupid question! To save you, of course."

"Heroic."

"Nothing."

I stand up and join her using my raizen to walk. Thankfully, my face is still covered with the mask so she can't see clearly that my eyes and hair color have changed. Farner is wearing a skirt and a shirt with only a chest plate on top. She didn't even prepare before coming here?

Her sword looks like the teeth of a predator fish, with small teeth all along the blade. The red handle is really beautiful as well. Looking at the crater created by her attack, I am amazed at how powerful her script is.

"That's one powerful script you have there, Farner."

"You think so too, right?! I am really proud of it. Especially because I have beaten up both-"

"Ahahahaha!!!"

Suddenly the monster's laugh breaks our joyful mood. Farner immediately grabs her long sword with both hands and takes a stance, ready to strike at a moment's notice. I raise my raizen with my only functional arm and create crescent bullets as well. I can feel him coming right in front of us.

"W-what-" Farner immediately reacts to them. It's her first time seeing my crescent bullets after all. She loses focus when my bullet appears but this isn't the time for discussion.

"Stay focus. He is coming."

As she calms down. A silhouette appears in front of us. It's somebody riding a horse? I hear the steps of a horse but from the silhouette coming, it is a man who rides it.

As the silhouette approaches more and more, I distinguish an arm, then a second. Finally, the whole thing appears in front of us.

"Impossible."

"What is that thing?!"

Both Farner and I are completely flabbergasted by what we see. The monster from earlier has changed form again. He is now a half-human half-horse, completely black, with red eyes and three arms. And each arm holds a weapon. The first one is holding a sword while the second which is on the same side has a whip and the third one on the other side holds a crossbow.

Where did he…No, how did he bring out those?

"To think that a hero would come to die so quickly. Oh, I can already smell the sweet nectar of your blood. I will finally be able to taste it again!!"

Saying so, he moves like the wind, kicking the ground every time his horse's feet touch it.

"Be wary!! It can use a whip that would cleave you in half if it touches you!"

"Got it!"

We both dodge the whip then Farner steps back as the monster confronts her, completely ignoring me.

I run to them but the whip comes again and obliges me to dance as I evade it. Meanwhile, Farner is clashing with him sword to sword.

"Don't stay too close to him!! He can use a flame that will burn you and sap away your Angas!!"

"Roger!!"

She uses Titanic Slash and I see six swords' lines appearing.

"Futile!!"

The monster somehow deflects three of the six while the other three hits him. But the hit area just becomes foggy then turns back to normal.

"This is going to be really hard." You don't say, Farner.
