THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

"i see that you must really be enjoying your vacations, huh…" Farner had us kneel on the grass in front of her like mere children. I don't even know why I am doing this. I did nothing wrong.

"I don-"

Farner fires a stare at me. It is so cold and full of anger that my mouth closes by itself. This time, she seems to be really angry.

"Lanuvel, does your mother feels better now?" Lanuvel stands up and goes to Farner then they start talking like I don't even exist.

"Y-yes. She does. But she still hasn't woken up yet."

"It was a miracle she lasted that long already so we shouldn't push her more than necessary. I am sure she will wake up in time."

"It's my dearest wish right now."

Lanuvel right now is like a dog that just got beaten up by another one, if she had a tail, I am pretty sure it would be between those legs. By the way, why am I still kneeling? I try to stand up but once again, I feel the death's stare on me.

"Just try to stand up and I will break those legs."

"Hey, I didn't do anything. You don't have to be angry."

"I do what I want. You will stay like that until we decided otherwise."

"Lanuvel, tell her I didn't do anything."

"I…"

"Don't involve her in this. You are the pervert here."

Sigh…Why does it always have to be like this? Even when I am innocent, I am always the culprit. It is not fair.

"Achoo!" Lanuvel suddenly sneezes, reminding gnoll number 1 that it is cold out here and unlike her, we are wearing light clothes and we just sweated a lot.

"You are lucky." She sends me one last death stare then removes her mantle and gives it to Lanuvel. They move inside the mansion and I follow her, seconded by the butler, who stayed the whole time. Does he not feel this cold as well?

In the evening, we have a small party to officially celebrate the beginning of the holidays. Everybody is wearing something fancy, myself included. I found them on my bed when I came back from my training. I don't know who put them there and I don't really care.

"You know, Peter, there is one thing that bothers me."

"What is it?"

"Isn't it bad for us to be this close to the headmaster?"

"AH…I see what you mean. No, not really. The headmaster is indeed the manager of the school from an outsider's point of view but there is a board of teachers that handles everything related to students from the inside. They are the one who decides most things. That's why, most of the time, a teacher's presence is mandatory. It is proof that they have approved what is happening."

"I see. But when you wanted me to be expelled, the headmaster, Sir Frankher came as well."

"Yes, that's because expelling you requires both of their approval. Though if the board validated it then Master would have had to accept it as well in the end."

"Hm-hm."

While talking to Peter, I glance at Farner from time to time, she is happily talking with the other girls like I don't even exist, well, maybe not. I see her doing the same and fleeing at once when our eyes meet. We really need to talk, you and I.

After the small party, everyone seems tired and we all go to bed. Or so I thought.

"Kevin, you up?" An hour after we all went to our rooms, Farner's voice resounds at my door.

"Yes." She enters, wearing a thick pajama made of fur. Is she that cold?

"Wait, you aren't covering yourself?" I was lying on my bed without any blanket. "You will get sick, you know?"

"I don't think so."

"But I do. So cover yourself more." She grabs the blanket on the side of the bed and throws it at me. As it covers me and obstructs my vision, I hear her moving and grabbing my wrists. Then she pins me on the bed and sits on my stomach, with the blanket between us. Why do they all have that habit of pinning me down? Am I some kind of slave to them or what?

"So, can we talk about this morning?" Though I don't like the position we are in right now.

"I don't want to."

"Eh?"

"You are flirting with Lanuvel even though I told you how I feel. And you didn't even say anything ever since that fight. Why should I talk about anything?" Seriously? Sigh…

"We didn't have the time to talk about it since. Besides, I wasn't flirting, I was training with her."

"Training on doing lewd stuff, right?"

"Listen, you…" I push upwards but she applies more strength and maintains me on the bed, though a part of the blanket came off. Now, my left eye, my nose, and my mouth are exposed. I can see the cute squirrel-like face she is making and her red cheeks better.

"Geez, I didn't want you to see me."

"Why?"

"Because I didn't want to." You guys and your answers.

"Farner, I LOVE YOU."

"Eh?"

"You said I didn't reply, right? Well, this is my answer."

"W-w-w-w-what a-a-are you saying? I never said!" She releases my hand and tries to flee but now it is my time. I catch her and pin her down as well.

Her legs are on the left side, with her feet touching the ground, her beautiful hair, scuffled and disorderly lying on the bed, her red cheeks, and her shining eyes, she looks divine right now.

"I love you."

"S-s-s-stop saying it! I heard you already! Geez!" She closes her eyes and turns her face to the bed to avoid my gaze. She is red up to her ears now.

"Okay, I won't say it anymore."

"No!"

She somehow manages to shake me off and then we both fall on the bed. Our bodies intertwined, and our faces are so close I can smell that fragrance from her again.

"I didn't say you shouldn't say it anymore. I just said to stop for now."

"Fufu. Okay, whatever you want."

She hides her face with her hands and starts wriggling a bit.

"What is it?" Is she uncomfortable?

"You are really a pervert."

"Eh? Even though I didn't do anything?!"

I grab her hands and remove them from her face. You have to tell me what I did this time, girl. As soon as I do it, however, Farner kisses me. A sensation that I never felt before in my life invades my body. There is an explosion of flavors in my mouth, like I just tasted a million of different delicious dishes at once.

So good!!! I didn't know kissing would feel so good!!

Finally, Farner's lips and mine part way and she looks at me with her glistering face. AH, my goddess, where have you been all this time?

"Here is your thank you gift for saving me. It's not every day you will have your first kiss with a hero so you better cherish it."

"Hm…"

"What?"

"It wasn't my first kiss, though."
