THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

"Now, it is time."

"Yeah. It is."

"You think the eternal army is there already, Willhem?"

"The attack is supposed to have started so yeah, they should be there."

"I see."

As the sun greets us with his first ray, we are up and ready to go.

"K'nor, let's go."

"Woof!"

K'nor stands up as well and we run to the city. Soon after, the characteristic sounds of the mortars' shots can be heard. The army is here like Willhem said. Frankher will surely give me one hell of a lecture for my delay.

"Focus your fire on the prators! Defenders, take care of the sloins!!"

"Dall incoming!!"

"Kriekk!!"

The battlefield resounds with sounds as we get closer. As always, they are all hyped to the maximum.

"Kevin."

"Yeah?" Willhem calls me and as I look behind, he looks at me with determination. This time, there is no smile or weird expression on his face.

"For the guys."

"…For the guys."

I look in front of me then fly above the forest as we enter the area of the battle. The number of Longinus is exponentially more than before. I don't know how many soldiers there are but there is way too much Longinus here. The hammer hands is really set of defending this place.

Suddenly, while I am focused on the battle, I feel the draconic energy of Dilt that is leaving Titan. Soon after, the dome becomes brighter, then changes right back and Dilt's energy continues its course at high speed.

"Where is that bastard going?"

"Kriekk!!" Let's handle all this first. A kirsurk hurls a fireball at me but I dodge while falling on its head. I strike with everything I got but I only manage to kill it. I can't believe Farner sliced one in half. That girl is a gnoll for sure.

"I really need more power to reach her level."

I jump off the falling body of the kirsurk then jump on another and kill it as well.

"Kriekk!"

A group of Longinus notices me as I land inside the forest and I engage them. The first to come is a sloin who dies the next instant. Then a vanguard comes, followed by a prator. The prator gets a series of three bullets while the vanguard dies by a stabbing attack. There are four other vanguards coming but before they reach me, a rain of arrows hits them.

A group of soldiers then appears.

"Sir, are you-"

"We can talk later."

I fly back up and take care of kirsurks all around the place. There are at least twenty of them so I have a lot of work left.

Two hours later, the intensity of the fight has shrunk at all. I thought taking care of the kirsurk could help; but for each one I brought down, another popped back up sometime later. This is frustrating.

After killing another kirsurk, I land and help a group of soldiers struggling with a group of six Longinus dalls.

"Are you guys okay?"

"Yeah, we are. Thank you, star of Mercuria."

"It's nothing."

"Guys!! Miss Koersombre's group is having trouble!" Another soldier comes and screams for help.

"Where are they?"

"Over here!"

We follow the soldier and after going through some Longinus, we all reach Keltia's group. They are trying to take care of two kirsurks with a group of only seven people?

Keltia is hovering around while using her special script. Peter is backing her up while Germinia is fighting the other one, backed up by Sarah. The other three are just trying to fill in from what I can see.

Right after my arrival, Germinia is hit. The claw of the kirsurk hits her head hard and then it raises his leg to impale her. Sigh…here comes the hero as always. I reach them using Disperse then block the leg.

"Kevin!"

"Kriekk!"

"Yeah, yeah."

I fire bullets at its leg and it comes right off.

"Kriek!"

You can handle the rest, right?

"Sarah!! Now!" It's good to see that Keltia isn't lost in the fight. While she orders Samson to fire, I fly over to the kirsurk she is fighting.

"Kriek!!"

"Kriekkk!"

The two kirsurks scream at the time. The first because it must have received Sarah's script, the second because Keltia managed to tear off one of its legs.

I go to its head and use Tremor. That's one down.

"Kriekk!"

Its brother tries to avenge him by swinging its claw at me. The only thing it meets is the wind though. Its head is damaged, surely due to Sarah's attack. It uses its head protection as I fall down on it but once again, Tremor is enough to kill it.

The body of the kirsurk falls to the ground and so do I.

"I could have taken care of it, you know?" I don't even know why I was expecting a thank you from you, Germinia.

"You guys are late. Father will scold you like never before when he sees you."

"Good morning, Keltia."

"Hey, this is not the time for this!"

"Kriekk!!"

Others Longinus arrive while we are discussing and we restart fighting. But then, after a few minutes, a horn resounds throughout the battlefield.

"It's time!! The second wave is coming!"

"Finally, I was getting tired."

Ah, I see. Just like before, they switch out after a certain time so that they can continuously fight.

"Take formation and retreat slowly!"

Under Keltia's command, her whole group takes the shape of a V and they start going back slowly.

"Kevin!! What are you doing?!! Join the formation!!"

«You guys go on ahead. I will cover your retreat."

"What?!"

"Let's go, Kel!!" Yeah, Peter. Just bring her with you. I still have some pent-up frustration to evacuate.

"You blockhead!!"

Keltia leaves with the others and soon after, another group of soldiers appears. A group of ten people. Three of them are holding shields and maces.

"At least they look reliable enough."

"Kriekk!" Yeah, I know. You guys can come now.
