THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

Chapter 342 - CHAPTER 342: ATTACK ON TITAN (3)

The group that has replaced Keltia is a bit useful. We are facing prators and dalls mostly but they handle themselves quite well. I don't need to pay too much attention to them.

"Aim for the base of the tail first! Once it is cut off, they won't be able to attack as much!"

And that is thanks to their leader. A man the same size as Willhem. I don't know what he looks like because he has his helmet on and I don't care. But I can say for sure that he manages his group well. After killing some more prators, I leave the group to kill the kirsurks that have popped out again.

"Woof!! Woof!"

While flying to the first one, I hear K'nor barking and fall down to see what is going on. He is fighting alone? Why? Where is Willhem? In any case, I rapidly kill the vanguards he is facing and then check his body to see if he is wounded. But it was no use.. Not only is he not wounded at all, but he also doesn't even look tired. He just keeps licking my face every time he gets the chance.

"Kriekk!" Those guys…Can't they give it a rest already?

"Let's go, K'nor."

"Woof!"

We go in the fray and the fight just escalates even more. The Longinus pop out even more as we are reaching the end of the forest. And most of the soldiers are far behind us. There are one or two groups that are also advancing quite a bit like us we all stumble upon each other as we reach the plain before the dome.

"The star of Mercuria is here! Let's join him!"

The first group leader speaks while I kill a vanguard. They better not hope that I will protect them. Because I won't.

"Capt'!" Willhem finally arrives. With traces f blood on his shirt, and a new rapier.

"What happened?" I raise my hand to heal him but he shakes his head.

"No, it's okay. I found a guy heavily injured and brought him to the rear in exchange for his weapon." Ah, I see.

"Okay."

"Kriekk!!"

The dome becomes brighter, clearer and a new wave of Longinus comes out. At the same time, I get to see a bit inside the city.

"No way…" Is that a second dome I see inside?

"Capt', it looks like this will take quite some time."

"You can say that again."

"Sir!! Look! There is a second dome inside!"

"I saw that!! Stay focused!! They are coming!!"

"Kriek!!"

"The signal is here, let's retreat!!"

Once again, the sound of the horn resounds and the men start retreating.

"Willhem, let's follow them."

"Already!!"

"Kriek-" He kills a vanguard with a bolt while looking at me.

"I can still go on; you know?"

"I know but we have-"

"Kriek-" I also kill two vanguards with bullets then K'nor tears apart one with his wind balls.

"We should give our report to the commander about what happened."

"Okay. Let's go then."

We follow the soldiers But then a kirsurk tries to block our path.

"Disperse!! Watch out for his fireball!!" The leader orders but while the other soldiers follow his commands, I fly to the head of the kirsurk, but as I reach it.

"Kriek!!" It starts screaming like it is in pain. It must Willhem and K'nor.

"Tremor it is then." The head protection comes but it is useless. The kirsurk's body falls to the ground but while I fall, I see a prator coming already.

The soldiers have already retreated, though.

"They are quick to run, wow." Even though they are wearing armors, it seems those guys have no problem running when it means they can retreat. Who could blame them though?

"Willhem, you know where the camp is so lead the way."

"Okay."

Willhem turns around and starts running while shooting Longinus along the way. I follow him while doing the same and we join back with the soldiers that went ahead before. They have regrouped again but since they went without us, we continue without minding them.

"Hey! Wait for us!!"

Willhem doesn't even turn to look at them and I follow his lead. We continue until we reach an area where there isn't much Longinus.  Suddenly, a spear flies past us and hits a sloin that was persistently chasing us. The replacements have arrived at our level.

"Cover their retreat!"

The leader of a group of ten soldiers gives commands to his group. It looks like their groups are standardized at ten people. If that's the case then that means Keltia lost three people before we arrived.

"Sigh…She is going to be all moody again."

***

Arrived at the camp, the soldiers all look at us like we are madmen. Yeah, I know. Going to the battlefield without an armor on and anything is plainly stupid.

"Capt', why did you change the way you fight again."

"What do you mean?"

"When you were fighting Tatiana, it was much smoother, powerful, and inventive.  I don't know how to put it. There was more spinning around than usual to destabilize the opponent, and even your scripts were changing. Especially when you shot that fireball then hid your special script behind it. That's how you managed to cut off her arm from what I saw and I was really well done."

"W-well, I didn't think it was necessary to use it again here. That's a tactic I am mostly using against her."

"Hm…" Don't look at me like that. "Well, you should use it more often."

"If you say so. But how did you see all that when you were busy with Thando?"

"I have a good overall vision of things."

"You lucky bastard."

"Fufufu. You jealous?"

"Geez, Shut up."

But Cissa really did all that? She is more proficient than me at using my own body. I can understand now why she keeps saying that I need to become stronger. But I should try to analyze what she did this time and add it to my style.

"Willhem, I will need your help for something."

"What is it?"

"Can you-"

"Mister Dragonroad." Let's deal with this first.
