THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

KEVIN DRAGONROAD POV:

After I have broken the sky, a foggy figure covered in black appears in the middle of an orange black sky. Just by being there, she has made the sky change color, huh. A real powerhouse she is for sure. 

"W-w-what is that?" Excia's voice is trembling. Yeah, I can understand. She emanates so much Regas energy that my whole body feels cold. Or maybe it is the poison that has started working on me. 

"What is this?" Then William speaks as well, though it seems he is looking at me. 

"What…What have you done?" Roxcia seems to do the same as well. Wait, you really think this is my fault? 

"Guys!!" 

Once again, her voice resounds above my head. Then, she lands next to William. I never thought I would be saying this, but I thank Meetia from the bottom of my heart that you are alive, Farner. There are so many things that I would want to say to you. There are so many but...

"S-sis?" 

"No way!!!" 

Her sisters react as if they are seeing a ghost. They even forget about our current situation and Excia jumps on Farner with such haste they both fall on the floor of the stage. Well, I can't blame them. I would really like to do the same right now but my body won't move. I know that I don't have that right. I don't have the right to feel your warmth.

"Hya!!!!" 

"Save me!!" 

As if Farner landing has broken the sort of time stop that was going on, people start reacting and chaos spread into the coliseum as they start leaving in hurry. At the same time, just like Farner, other people land in the coliseum. Peter, Keltia, Germinia and Lanuvel. As I see Lanuvel landing, my head reflexively looks down. I am too ashamed to face you two, way too much. But no matter the shame that I have to go through, I must make sure. I must make sure to end it all. Because if I don't, then everything I did would be in vain.

"So, this is what was going on, huh…" Lanuvel speaks with a sad but relieved voice, as if she has understood something after a long time. 

"I don't really understand what is happening but I guess we must fight those two guys now, right?" of course, Germinia. You had to think something like that or it wouldn't have been you. 

After them, Willhem lands next to me. I felt him coming closer while I was fighting Roxcia and the others. This means that only Thando decided to stay out of it. Well, it is better this way. I didn't keep my promise so there is no reason for him to come.

"Bro, you did something stupid, you know?" Leave it at that, please, Willhem.

The foggy figure finally comes down and the more she closes the distance between us, the scarier and heavier the atmosphere gets. When she is just about three meters above us, they all move and lands right beneath her. Then they remove their hoods and reveal their ugly faces. Veronica, Tatiana and Borgas. That fucker was still alive after all? Damn lucky bastard! 

Still, they aren't the most important guest we have. You are the most important one here right now. The guest of honor, so to speak. I look at the foggy person and smile. With the pain I am feeling all over right now, I don't know how I can do that myself. 

"Don't you think it is a bit cold of you to come and not even say hello to your sisters, Genesis?" 

If what she told me is true, then it is her. The official first hero that fought against her sister Maria and N'donkeu while being controlled by the goddess. As well as the one who was given the apparently impossible task of finding their whereabouts after they sealed the forest away. That is, if it was the truth. 

"What are you saying?!" Farner reacts first. 

"That is impossible! A hero could never fall to the Longinus!" Then Excia as well. 

"Have you gone mad?" I wonder as well, Roxcia.

The foggy figure doesn't say anything nor does Veronica or any of them open their mouth. Then right when I am about to say something else, a voice finally resounds. 

"Did Maria tell you?" That voice…Even though it sounded a bit corrupted and changed by hatred, it was still the same tone of voice as the heroes. 

The fog around her finally starts clearing and the first official hero reveals herself. Wearing the Longinus gear, only her face can be recognizable. But half of it is burnt, her teeth and the bones of her skull are appearing on the right side. Bits of burnt flesh are still stuck here and there as well. And her eyes, even though she is a bit far, her eyes are shining red, just like mine. But her eyes have such aggressivity, such hatred, such deep and profound darkness to them, that I am put to shame with my petty hatred for my parents. 

"N-no way. That is not possible."Oh, yes, it is, Farner.

"How?... Why?" I wonder as well, Excia.

"But Mother always…" She doesn't care about you guys, I am sure. 

"Maria had a guess, yeah. But how do you know that she is alive?" Let's continue our conversation. 

"You carry her soul with you. Just like you are carrying that pitiful man's soul as well. I can smell it." Genesis points her finger at me, or more precisely, at my arm that just lost its hand. 

"I see. Still, it is a bit of cold to-"

"My queen, I apologize for my failure." Finally, the first bitch, Veronica, opens her damn mouth and cuts me off. "Had I known it was a trap, I would have never-"

"Shut up." Genesis commands and the air immediately densifies itself. It becomes thick and unbreathable. Veronica is shut right down by that. Her voice didn't sound too high or angry or anything and yet, it carries such strength. This fight will certainly not be easy. 

"I-I am sorry, my queen." 

"You were deceived and that is that. I need no useless apology. To correct your mistakes is all I am awaiting of you. But boy, I must say you impressed me." Genesis finally comes down to our level and as her feet touch the tiles, they all turn grey. 

"Kriekkk!!!!!!!" At the same time, a shadow covers a part of the coliseum for a second while the powerful scream of a Longinus is heard. 

"No…" 

"Damn, we are screwed." 

The others react as a dragon flies above our heads. This one is definitively bigger than the others. So, they still had some of them, huh. 

"I impress you? You have me flattered." 

"Do not act tough. For I know that right now, you are scared, more than anyone else here." 

"Right." I can feel Willhem's restlessness next to me. Even he doesn't seem like he wants to fight. That in itself is a bad omen for sure. 

"But I have to admit that you have done great. Killing your own mother, a saintess. Then killing your lover, a hero. All of that only to bring me out of Ioll where I am more powerful. But you made a great mistake as well. You have brought too much despair and negative feelings upon these lands, creating the perfect environment for the Longinus to prosper. After all, it is what they are born from and what they seek before anything else." 

Fear can even be smelled right now, right here. What did you guys all come if you were going to be afraid then? You should have run away. 

"As long as you die, then it will be fine." 

"Fine?" Genesis releases her Regas aura and the whole coliseum trembles. I can hear cracking sounds everywhere. "So, you still have hope then. What foolish bravery." 

A portal then opens right above the coliseum, it is so big it easily extends outside the radius of the whole coliseum. It casts an impressively threatening shadow upon us all with its appearance. 

"Kriekk!!" As if to answer a call, the dragon from before screams once again while flying below the portal. 

"I had originally planned to watch until you would be done in by those useless servants of mine. But your act of stupidity gives me the urge to extinguish the last little flame that is shining in your eyes. So that you may never forget, how painful reality can be." 

"Are you speaking for yourself now?" 

"You will know soon enough." 

"No!!" Farner's voice resounds behind me then she lands right before my face, facing her sister. "I won't let you hurt him! This is our problem!" Farner…Why? Even after what I did…Why are you still doing this? This can't be because of love, right? 

"Sigh…I think it is time for you guys to fulfill your promise, right?" N'donkeu, Maria. I really think now would be the best time to come out.
