THAT DAY I BECAME A STAR

"Hm…Maybe I should start with you, the lover. The dragonroad is dead so there is no use to keep you ali…No wait, actually, you should come last, you are someone I need to talk with after all." 

"He-He is not dead!!" 

"Oh, poor you. So you don't even understand why Maria and all those who were helping you aren't moving anymore." Genesis grabs my cheeks with such strength my lower jaw almost breaks. "The dragonroad's soul was the only thing that was maintaining them here. Now that he is extinct. Obviously, they disappeared as well, dear. And all that is your fault." 

"He is…not dead." I have a hard time speaking with her holding me like this but I will say it. "He promised.. So he can't die now." 

"He promised?" Genesis releases me then I see a foot slamming on my face. 

"Ack!" 

"He promised? Do you know what is the value of a promise? It means nothing! It holds nothing!" She kicks me once again but it doesn't feel as much painful. My nose is still broken though. I can taste blood in my mouth as well. "It is but a feeble and fleeting sentence that disappears with the wind as soon as it is said! And you are getting your hopes up because of a promise? What kind of stupid sister did that shitty woman create?!"

"Is that why you look so sad?" I have noticed it. Genesis is sad. Her voice, her face…it might have been difficult to pay any attention to it but I can say for sure that she is sad and angry.

"It seems you will die first after all." 

The strings that were restraining me disappear and Genesis grabs my neck. Then I feel my Angas starting to leave my body.

"Ack!!"

She is strangling me at the same time so I can't speak or scream easily. But moreover, it hurts. My whole being is getting sucked out of me. But this...it is almost the same feeling as when Mother tried to do the same thing. I can't say that I got used to it but this pain isn't something I can't support. and if I can bear it, then I have to do something!

"I wanted to save you for later but this will do as well." 

I kick her arm but it barely has any effect. No, I won't die like this! I will live! I must live!! I must live to see tomorrow with them!! 

"Ahh!!" Right as I gather my strength to strike her again, a thunder ball lands on Genesis's burnt part of her face in coordination with Roxcia's scream. 

"Hyarghh!!!" She releases me and starts stumbling around while holding her face with both hands. 

I can't let this opportunity pass!! I pounce on her immediately and strike her stomach with everything I got but an armor made of Regas appears right around it and blocks my attack. The shockwave is so great that we both get thrown away. 

"Kya!!" Right as I land, strings bind me to the floor again. Shit!! 

"Aha…Ahahaha!! I didn't know!! To think there was somebody with such vigor still among you! Oh well, I am not too surprised, she is the one who contributed the least after all." 

"Roxcia!! No!!" 

Genesis goes to Roxcia and just like me, she grabs her by the neck and starts choking her.

"Hey!! It is me you wanted!! Release her!!" 

"No can do. She said she wanted to be first after all. A good older sister should listen to her little sisters' demands, right?" 

"You fucking shit!! Come and get me if you can!!" 

"Oh, please. I will get to you soon enough." 

Roxcia's hair starts losing its color and at that moment, she looks at me with a smile. 

"You…you really are stupid." 

Roxcia then looks at Genesis and releases her aura to the maximum. 

"Come on, you know it is no use." 

"You think so? Because there is one particular script you left for us that is quite useful for situations like this." 

"No, Roxcia, don't do this!!" 

"Stop!!" 

Excia and I both try to stop her. I know the script she is talking about. It is a suicidal script that Genesis left as her only technique. But It is forbidden. 

"What are tal-"

"Eden!!" Roxcia's body turns into light in front of us then a pillar of light strikes the whole area.

"Roxcia!!" 

"Argh!!!" Genesis's scream makes the whole floor tremble powerfully and our ears almost explode while the strings that were binding us disappear. 

As the light starts fading. I try to stand up but my limbs just don't answer. It is as if my joints have been cut. 

"Roxcia…" 

"You stupid idiot!" 

While we are mourning her, the pillar of light finally fades, leaving Genesis alone. But something is weird. 

"…Kriekkk!!!" 

Her body…Something is sticking out of her body, something that no form and all form at the same time. It keeps wriggling around while slowly going back to her body. Could it be that…

"Excia!!" 

"I know! I am trying!!" Just like me, Excia is trying her best to stand up but she must have the same problem. But we must do this!! We must avenge our sister!! 

"Ahhh!!"

"Ahh!!" 

We push with everything we have!! And right when I manage to stand up, somebody lands before Genesis. 

"No way…" Thando Taladas? Why is he here? No, more importantly, if he is here then…

"Sigh…You guys can't even do the simplest work." He buries his hands into the thing that is sticking itself to Genesis and pulls out something. 

He then kicks Genesis away and she is completely released from the Regas substance, her arm and leg are missing and she is bleeding as well. 

"What are you doing?!!" Excia's scream surpasses mine as I see him holding a massive crystal in his hands. 

"Kriekk!!!" The thing that was previously sticking to Genesis starts gluing to him. Its mouth has protruded sharp teeth sticking out that look deadly.

"Hey! You shitty dragon! Wake up already! If I am alive then you must be as well, right?!!" 

"What?" What is talking ab…
