The Alpha King

Chapter 36 - 36

Saying goodbye was hard, harder than I thought it would be.

Ginger didn't kill Xavier but she was mad and she let him know it. He didn't retaliate to her wrath or try to defend himself, in fact he looked nothing but guilty and sorry about it.

Chris, on the other hand was by far calmer but I knew my leaving affected him because when I hugged him a tear slipped from his eye and he held me tightly. My eyes filled with tears then and before I knew it Chris, Ginger and I were all a mess. Poor Xavier didn't know what to do with himself.

Just before we were about to leave Xavier gave Ginger a hug and I saw he whispered something into her ear but I couldn't catch it even with my wolf hearing. She looked at him then for a long moment then nodded slowly.

I waved until I couldn't see them any longer from the backseat of one of Xavier's cars and they waved back.

Xavier noticed my silence and chose not to say anything. As I turned towards the window I felt him take a hold of my hand. It was such a small gesture yet it managed to make me feel as if I could find my centre again. Perhaps he was my centre.

We drove to an airport and to my horror and surprise we boarded Xavier's private plane. I freaked out when I saw it and realised it belonged to him but he simply lead me inside, guided me to my seat and buckled me in. Before he got into his own seat he kissed my forehead. I closed my eyes in response and he pulled away much to soon. I was enjoying his closeness far to much.

I asked him on multiple occasions where exactly he lived but he kept saying, "it's a surprise". I really hate it when someone says that. Xavier noticed my sour expression at his response and he just rolled his eyes at me. I swear his sass levels have spiked.

After hours of flying and me sleeping the entire time the captain finally announced that we are going to land. I was so excited for some reason. Perhaps because I was finally going to see where he lived and get of this ridiculously lavish plane.

I looked out the window and noticed it was dark out and I couldn't make out anything. Guess I'll have to wait until we get off.

As soon as we exited the plane and my feet touched the ground I gasped and looked up. A thousand snowflakes fell all around me. I giggled as one landed on my cheek. I raised my fingers tentatively to my cheek and swiped it off.

"Xavier it's snowing!" I squealed and glanced at him. He stood silently with his arms crossed in front of him and was watching me with a light smile dancing on his lips.

Walking towards me he said,

"I know Buttercup."

He wrapped his arms around me and I wiggled out of them.

"You are shivering, Victoria, get back here."

"No, I want to see the snowflakes."

He growled and took of his suit jacket and put it over my shoulders, on top of the jacket that I was already wearing. I took it off and handed it back to him because all he had on was a white button up shirt.

"You'll freeze without that!"

" I'd rather freeze than watch you shiver, besides my body temperature is far warmer than yours. Trust me this is mildly chilly to me."

I just looked at him then rose up on my tippy toes and kissed his cheek and thanked him.

"Your H-Highness, the car is r-ready." I glanced behind Xavier and saw a short werewolf with his head bowed.

Xavier turned around as well and nodded. He grabbed my hand and started walking to one of the five Land Rovers waiting. I took my hand out of his and stepped back to the short werewolf still standing there not looking up.

"Excuse me Sir, what is your name?" I asked him, ignoring Xaviers stare.

"Um...Madam my name is Joseph." He said looking up at me and then gasping for some reason.

"Well thank you Joseph for informing us and I apologise for his rude behaviour." I said glaring over my shoulder at Xavier.

"Victoria, lets go." Xavier said glaring right back at me.

I patted the poor guy on the shoulder as I passed him and walked with Xavier to the car.

The drive to who knows where was long and I couldn't see anything outside because it was pitch black and the snow was covering practically everything before I knew it I was drifting off to yet another sleep. The last thing I remember was falling asleep on Xavier's shoulder.

"Victoria, Victoria, wake up." Some annoying person was trying to wake me up from my sleep and I groaned in protest and squeezed my eyes shut even tighter.

"Love, where're here."

I snapped my eyes open at that and immediately jerked up from the leather seats of the car.

"What? Why didn't you wake me up earlier, you idiot!" I said and started to move closer to the open door where Xavier stood now looking incredulously down at me.

"What? I've been trying to wake you up for I don't know how long, yet you refused, you even smacked me! "

"Hmph, well you probably deserved it."

"No, I don't think I did." I ignored him and tried to move pass him and out of the car but he was in the way.

"Can you get out of my way!?"

Xavier the insufferable butt head continued to stand there and stare at me, refusing to budge out of the way. He probably enjoyed watching me struggling to get passed him and out of this blasted car.

You know what, there's two doors. I turned from him, my back facing him as I crawled towards the opposite door. My fingers were just about to grab the door handle when I felt Xavier's large hand grab my ankle. He yanked and I was pulled forcefully towards him.

Shrieking I wiggled and managed to turn around and onto my back.

"What the hell Xavier!" I demanded angrily as I looked up at him.

"I do not like it when you turn your back on me Victoria." He said sternly.

"Oh boo hoo, do you expect me to just sit in this car?!"

He growled and before I knew it he leaned further into the car and grabbed my waist with both of his hands. I tired to gain my balance by wrapping my legs around his waist and sliding my arms around his neck.

He growled lowly and dug his hands into my waist so that there was literally not an inch of space between us. Our noses brushed together and we just stayed in that position for a while glaring at one another until he angled his head down and kissed me softly at first then harder and more forcefully. He demanded entrance to my mouth and I granted him only to attack him and let my irritation out in the kiss. I tugged at his hair and he dug his nails into my waist.

I pulled away slightly and heard him growl lowly. Breathing heavily I glanced behind him and was about to look back at him when I snapped my eyes back behind him and my mouth dropped open.

I felt all the blood rush furiously to my head and I was pretty sure my heart was about to burst from my chest.

I thought my eyes deceived me but I knew it was real. A castle stood looming behind me and it was magnificent. It was the biggest thing I had ever seen and even though it was still dark and snowing it was beautiful. Torches were placed all around casting a golden glow around, it did take my breath away but that wasn't the only thing.

In front of the entry to the castle, outside on the gravel stood an entire row of people who were all open mouthed as they had just witnessed mine and Xavier's little exchange.

The worst part was that I had an inkling that they were important people and I just wanted the earth to open up and swallow me whole. Sadly that wasn't going to happen so I just ducked my head into Xavier's neck to hide my face like a true child and whispered softly into his ear.

"I'm so going to kill you."
