The Alpha King

Xavier turned to me and I waited patiently for his response. I don't know why but I just had a bad feeling about this Lady Kathryn.

"Her family are extremely wealthy and have been friends with my family for decades."

I narrowed my eyes slightly and asked him if he was a close friend of hers.

"Well we were childhood friends of sorts. Whenever her family would come visit, we would play together."

"Oh okay then."

"Don't give me that look Love." Xavier said and started walking towards me. I just scrunched up my eyebrows and asked him what look?

"You are doing it right now! The look that says you don't really believe me." Xavier exclaimed with a slight smile on his face. He stood right in front of me, his hands rested loosely around my waist. His intoxicating scent was driving me insane.

"No, I do believe you but did you ever have any other relationship with her?" He raised his eyebrows at that and smirked at me. Since when does he smirk like that?!

"Are you jealous?" I widened my eyes at his worlds and quickly rushed out,

"What me, jealous? Never!"

"Hmmm, whatever you say Love and to answer your question, no we did not have any other sort of relationship. Remember my family was murdered and I went into hiding in the Northern mountains. I didn't exactly have time for a relationship nor did I want one, especially with her."

Oh, right, I completely forgot about him going into hiding for the most part of his life. He must think I don't even care that much about him to remember something like that, in truth it just slipped my mind.

I felt extremely guilty and small for acting so ignorant and only being worried about if he was with someone before me.

Xavier must have sensed my expression because he lifted my chin up with his fingers and made me look into his concerned grey eyes.

"What's wrong, love, did I say something to upset you?" His sweet words made me feel even worse, even now he thought it was him that was the problem.

I laughed softly and put my arms around his waist. Resting my head on his board chest I could hear how hisheartbeatt picked up at our sudden contact.

"No, I'm just upset that I forgot you went into hiding. I was so focused on finding out who she was and I don't want you to think I don't care about you because I do, a lot even though you annoy me most of the time and sometimes I really just want to hit-"

"Okay, okay I get it." He said with a small laugh and then began stroking my hair. I almost purred, it felt so good. Damn but his chest was comfortable and his fingers could work magic.

"Buttercup, I didn't, not for a second think you didn't care about me just because you forgot about when I went into hiding, it isn't even any thing to worry over nor is Kathryn. Go shower and then we can get into bed. I think we both need a good rest." He kissed the top of my head and I let go of his waist as he let go of mine.

I was in a cell and it was dark. I couldn't quite find my bearing and my body aches tremendously. I heard laughter and some rattling and then a man stepped into my cell. I shrunk back and huddled into the corner of this dark hell.

The man walked closer and I shuddered as I made out his snarling face. Cadmer crouched down to my level and grabbed my face in between his gloved fingers.

"Did you honestly think you could get away from me and go on and live happily ever after with your dog of a mate?" He laughed hysterically and then suddenly stopped abruptly. He withdrew his fingers from around my face and then he slapped me across my face so hard that blood began to pooled in my mouth.

I was shaking with anger and pain and before I registered what I was doing I spat the blood into his face and smiled at his shocked, furious eyes.

He wiped the blood of his face and then flung his hand around my throat. He began squeezing his fingers around my throat and I felt the blood rush to my head and I tried desperately to claw at his fingers. I couldn't breath!

My eyes widened as I looked into his evil face.

"You will never be free! You will never know happiness! You are mine Kitten!"

I sat up abruptly, my breathing ragged and my body shook softly with my sobs. I reached towards my throat and gently touched it. It was fine, it was only a nightmare. I tired reassuring myself but it felt so real. It felt as if he really was with me and I really was back in that hell of a place.

I was just about to wipe my tears when I felt a strong warm hand touch my arm. I shrieked suddenly and jumped slightly back. I mentally scolded myself as soon as Xavier's worried face came into view. He sat up next to me and without saying anything he brought me into his lap.

I rested my head on his chest and he rubbed my arms and stroked my hair.

He brought my face up so that I was looking up at him and then he wiped the remaining tears from my face.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He gently asked as he continued stroking my hair. I shook my head softly and looked down again.

We sat like that for I don't know how long and before I knew it, I fell asleep and this time I dreamt of nothing.

When I woke up in the morning Xavier was nowhere to be found so I got up and had a shower and then got dressed.

I left his room and was wondering around for a while because, well, honestly I got lost. This place was just so big!

I wasn't exactly looking where I was going and I bumped into a solid chest. It felt like I just walked into a wall to be honest. I groaned and rubbed at my throbbing forehead, trying desperately to ease the pain.

"Oh my gods! I am so sorry Beautiful I didn't mean to hurt you! Are you okay?! Let me see."

I squinted my eyes and glanced up at the tall masculine figure in front of me, who had a rather apologetic and frantic expression on his well, handsome face.

His blue eyes looked worriedly down at me and then he reached down to touch my forehead. I was a little confused at first as he was examining my forehead and for some bizarre reason I felt uneasy I think it was my wolf, she didn't appreciate another male, a strong one in fact by the smell of him, touching us.

I stepped back a little and he frowned down at me.

"I'm really sorry for hurting you Beautiful."

Why did keep calling me Beautiful and more importantly who was he?

"Ah...it's fine, really. It was my fault, there's no need to apologise." I said as I continued to stare at him, trying to figure out who he was. I'm guessing he realised I was confused as to who he was because he said,

"The names, Beta Luca but you can call me Luca. Who are you, if you don't mind me asking, Beautiful." His blue eyes shone and I noticed he had a dimple. He was cute I must admit, with his strong physic and those blue eyes and sandy brown hair, that wasn't too long or too short.

He kind of reminded me a little of the old Adam, as sad as that was.

"She's mine, Luca." A voice growled angrily from behind me.. I turned around and watched Xavier's eyes flashing a light blue as he stalked towards us.
