The Alpha King

"You're late," Killian scolded as I approached him in one of the gardens. Everything in the garden was covered with snow but it was beautiful and the air felt just right against my warmed body. I could tell that it would be even more beautiful in the summer.

"Blame it on Xavier. He wouldn't leave me alone this morning."

"Hmph, I can guess as to why. Your scent is different." He said as if he was merely stating facts.

"Ahh...yes we, um...we-w"

"Oh by the Goddess, please I don't even want to know." He said scrunching his face and making gagging sounds. I just looked on at him and shook my head, slightly grateful for being saved from explaining to him what exactly Xavier and I have been getting up to...

"Where exactly have you been anyways?"

Killian stoped his gagging sounds and looked at me in confusion.

"Alpha didn't tell you?"

"No," I said hesitantly.

"Well then I guess that means I can't tell you either."

"Oh, come on! It can't be that big of a deal, just tell me."

"No"

"Pretty please with a cherry on top." I said batting my eyelashes. Killian scrunched his face up at me and said, "please don't ever make that face again."

"I'll make it right now if you don't tell me."

Crossing my arms I stared at him in determination. I wasn't going to give up, he had to tell me.

"Why are you so frustrating! How does Alpha handle you?"

"He doesn't, I handle him."

At my words Killian gave me an, 'are you being for real right now' look.

"Fine, I'll tell you only because you're bound to figure it out once we start your training."

"My training, what does that have to with this?"

"A lot, now listen to me, remember when you managed to project your memories to Alpha and I."

"Yes," I said in confusion, still not understating what he was trying to say.

"Well, it's not normal..."

"I know it was strange but hasn't other werewolves ever done it before?"

"No, not that I have heard of, what you did, Luna, it was powerful and Xavier and I have never come across another werewolf who could do something like that."

"But-but...it was an accident I didn't mean to do it!"

"We know but it-"

"Wait, have you and Xavier spoken of it?"

"Yes, that's why I was sent away."

"You're not making any sense just tell me what's going on." I said, getting more and more frustrated with every word.

Sighing Killian said, "Alpha sent me to go and speak with one of his fathers oldest friends, Delerisabro, he and his family have a history of dealing with slightly more powerful werewolves and 'power' in a sense."

"You're joking right, you were sent on a grand quest of power and I was never told about this?"

"It wasn't some, 'grand quest', it was business, extremely important business and Alpha didn't tell you because you were practically dying on the floor with your hea-"

"Hey, I was in real pain, like worse than giving birth pain! I'd like to see you try and survive even on-"

"Can you clam down, I get it okay. Now where was I...right you dying, anyway, he didn't want to trouble you with the knowledge and besides if it turned out that Delerisabro couldn't help us, it would have been pointless."

"Help you with what exactly."

"You."

"Me!?" I said pointing a finger at myself.

"Yes, you, have you not been listening to a word I've been saying?"

"For the love of the Moon Goddess, please just tell me in one sentence what exactly you needed his help for that has to do with me!"

"We want you to harness this new power and use it to protect yourself and possibly others as well."

"What, are you crazy?! 'Harness' it? Were you not listening to a thing I said. I did it by accident. I don't even know how or why it happened, let alone harness it to pro-protect myself! Didn't you see what damage it did to you and what it could have done to Xavier if he wasn't my mate?"

"That's the whole point though, it caused damage. What you did, it can be used to help you."

"Help me? With what exactly, hurting the people I care about around me?"

"Luna, this was a mistake I shouldn't have told you. You need to go and speak with Alpha and when you have come to terms with it, I'll be waiting to start your training."

"Damn right, I need to speak to Xavier but before I go what training are you both going on about?"

"Your power Luna, what else?"

I just stared at him, my mouth slightly hanging open. Killian just rolled his eyes heavenwards and strode off, his boots treading through the snow.

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath in and let the cold air fill my lungs. The garden was silent all around me while inside of me, a storm was raging on.

How could they ever think I had some sort of power. What I did that day was nothing but a fluke, a fluke that hurt the ones close to me. It wasn't power.

I feel so betrayed by Xavier, how could he just not tell me about something like this. How could he go behind my back like this? Did he expect me to never find out?

Power, they're crazy.

I waited in the garden patiently for Xavier after I mind linked him to come down here. He said he was on his way and would come as swiftly as possible. If only he knew why I was calling, I doubt he'd want to come so swiftly.

I saw his large figure come into view and as he got closer and closer to me I noticed his face turn slightly anxious. He knew something was off.

"Victoria, what are you doing standing out here in the cold? Isn't Killian meant to be training you?"

I remained silent, my arms crossed over my chest, looking at him.

"When were you going to tell me?"

"Tell you what?"

"Don't you dare act dumb Xavier."

"Victo-oh, so Killian told you did he." He said angrily, his eyes narrowed.

"Don't get mad at him, did you think I'd never find out? Especially when he'll start my magic training."

"No-I...I just didn't want...Damn it Victoria I just want you to be able to protect yourself and what you did was powerful. You need to be able to learn to use it."

"Xavier, it hurt you. How can you expect me to want to use it against people?"

"Victoria, when those Spell Caster come knocking on our doors, when Cadmer comes to try and take you away again don't you want to be able to use something against them, something powerful?" He said angrily, his jaw tensed. His eyes flashed down at me, I could feel the heat of his body and his stare wrap around my body.

"Yes, of course I do but is this so called power the answer, I don't know."

"You do know, trust me, I know you and I know you want to be able to protect yourself and those around you and you can, with this power, you can do it. It's going to be hard for you now because you're scared of it but once you learn to wield and control it, think of what you could do."

"Xavier I don't think I even know how to do it. I-I never planned on that happening, I don't even know where it came from." I said, letting my head drop slightly. I couldn't look at him anymore, he seemed to believe I really could master this power and not hurt anyone.

I felt his warm strong arms wrap around me and I snuggled closer into his chest. He held me for a few moments and then moved away from me slightly.

Kissing my forehead he said, "I promise you won't be alone and I'll be there every step of the way. Together remember, together we are stronger."

"Okay, together then."
