The Blue Eyes
Chapter 143 - A SUCCESS
The sign was not good. It felt like the Gods in Heaven started waving their hands to Kevin as if they were calling the scientist to come to them. Kevin was a good man, so of course, his next life would be in paradise.
But, no! Kris wouldn't let Kevin leave him and come to the Gods instead! He didn't want to let go of his lover!
The tan-skinned man tightened his grip on Kevin's hand as he started transforming into his other form. Yes, he transformed into his werewolf form. His body got bigger as he turned into a werewolf monster in brown fur. He needed to use his strongest power to defeat Kevin's, so he didn't have any other choice than to transform himself.
The big werewolf started expanding his red aura, and the red aura started 'fighting' with Kevin's blue aura. The fight was fierce as both auras didn't want to lose. Kris's aura was hot, while Kevin's was cold. The two auras were total opposite that they couldn't tolerate each other.
Kris used his full strength to fight the blue aura. His veins under the thick fur started protruding as he pushed his power so hard. He didn't expect that Kevin's power would be this strong and stubborn.
He kept using more and more strength, and the red aura started pressing the blue aura. The blue aura was gradually pressed into Kevin's body by the overbearing red aura.
As the blue aura was no longer dominating the battle, the thin ice layer on Kevin's body started to melt. That was a good sign, and that motivated Kris to fight more. He added more power to press the blue aura, and the blue aura grew weaker under the pressure. He glanced at the monitor on AZURE's head, and it seemed like the bacteria had succeeded in cutting the infected DNA.
The blue aura finally lost the battle, and it subsided into Kevin's body. To be precise, it subsided back to the part of DNA that had been cut by the bacteria.
Kris started pulling back his power, and the red aura started to dissipate into his body. He then carefully transformed to human again. A thick layer of sweat covered his body, his breath was harsh and heavy, indicating that the battle was not easy for him.
AZURE pulled back the needle, and the monitor on its head turned normal again with its pair of blue eyes and lips. The robot then carefully treated Kevin's wounded wrist using cotton and a bandage. It didn't take long until the robot finished bandaging the wounded wrist.
"That was crazy!" Kris exclaimed after he could breathe normally again. "I almost lost you, Kev," he continued as he tightened his grip on Kevin's right hand.
Kris's body was still trembling a little, and the robot seemed to notice it. "You did a great job, Kris," it replied. "The Old Master must be so proud of you."
Kevin was still unconscious on the operation bed, so he couldn't hear their conversation. Kris let go of the hand and stroked Kevin's black hair with his hand. Kevin's body was still cold, but it was no longer icy like before.
"He's going to be okay, right?" Kris asked without looking at the robot.
He was still worried about his lover's condition. Both of them were so close to the door of death just a moment ago, and that experience traumatized him.
"Yes, he will," the robot answered. "He will be in this state for a whole day, but he will be back to normal again soon. His body will regain the heat, and it will not cold anymore. You don't need to worry."
"Professor Selena really made a bet on her own son," Kris commented in disbelief. "Anyway, how about the antidote? Have you successfully extracted it from Kevin's body?" He asked while turning his head to the white robot.
"I have successfully extracted the antidote, and it is inside my body now. I will duplicate it, and it can be used on the werewolves when it's ready," the robot answered.
The answer made Kris frown. "You can duplicate it, but you can't create a new antidote?" He asked confusedly.
"That's right," the robot replied. "The Old Master only programmed me to duplicate the antidote, not to create a new antidote."
Kris just shook his head. He didn't really understand what was on the professor's mind when she started all these dramas. It was too hard to be understood.
"Why didn't the professor create a new antidote? She only gave me brief information about the antidote, and I don't really understand how it works," the werewolf spoke again.
"The professor could indeed create a new antidote if she wanted to, but the antidote is not that simple. The antidote needs to be implanted in a human's body to absorb human characteristics. After it finished absorbing the characteristic, it finally can be used to return the werewolves to normal humans."
Kris frowned again after the robot finished explaining. "The antidote had absorbed Kevin's characteristic, right? Does it mean the werewolves that will be injected with the antidote will have Kevin's characteristic?" He asked again in a confused tone.
"It is not like that," the robot answered. "The antidote just absorbed the overall characteristic of human, just the physical characteristics like how is the metabolism in human's body, how they digest their food, how is their excretion system, and so on. The antidote didn't absorb Master's psychological characteristic."
Kris could breathe a sigh of relief. He couldn't imagine what would happen to the world if there were more than a hundred Kevin. He got goosebumps just by imagining it. One stubborn Kevin was enough for him, and he didn't need more Kevin in the world.
"Then, did the antidote really need seventeen years to absorb the characteristic?" Kris questioned again.
"The seventeen years period is the best period chosen by the Old Master. She deliberately set the longest period to keep the Master safe. If the antidote absorbed the characteristics too quickly, it might endanger the Master's body."
Kris fell silent upon hearing the further explanation. Even though the professor dared to take the risk by using her own son, but she did things meticulously to make sure her son would be safe and sound in the end.
"How much time do you need to duplicate the antidote?" Kris finally asked again after there was a pause for a moment.
"Just give me three days. The antidote will be ready in three days."
Kris nodded after he heard the robot's answer. They could save the werewolves in three days. Kevin would surely feel happy to know that. He couldn't wait to see his lover's reaction.
He then looked back to the unconscious man and smiled softly. He placed his hand on the latter's forehead and noticed that the forehead was no longer as cold as before. AZURE was right, Kevin would back to normal after this.
"Kris, what is your plan with the antidote?" The robot suddenly asked again, making Kris turn to it once again.
"Perhaps we will send the antidote to the government," Kris answered. "The antidote can be injected into the werewolves' body using the regular syringe, right? You don't need to inject the antidote into the werewolves, do you?"
"No, I don't need to do that personally. I will put the antidote in small bottles, and the humans can use it right away. The Old Master didn't want me to meet other people except for you and Master."
Kris chuckled before he replied, "The professor was too overprotective of you, little devil."
The digital eyes narrowed at Kris after the latter gave a reply. "She was overprotective of me because I'm valuable, Kris. You are the one who can't see my value," the robot argued.
Kris just chortled again but didn't retort. Sometimes, AZURE could act like a human. The way the robot talked was like a kid. He remembered that in the past, he often had arguments with the robot. Professor Selena hid the robot in the laboratory, and once in a while, she and Kris visited the laboratory to do their work there.
The past was still so fresh in Kris's mind. He remembered how often he spent time with Professor Selena and the robot. They were like a family of three when they chatted and bickered in the laboratory. At that time, he imagined how good it would be if Kevin was there with them, but it was too bad that his imagination couldn't be realized. The professor had died, and only he and AZURE were left to accompany Kevin.
"Kris," the robot suddenly called out his name, forcefully breaking Kris's nostalgic moment. "How about you, Jack, and Blue? Are you guys willing to let go of your powers after this?"
Kris didn't immediately reply. He and the others had discussed the matter before, and they had made a final decision about that.
The werewolf sighed before he answered, "We will let go of our powers after this. We are ready to be normal humans again."
But, no! Kris wouldn't let Kevin leave him and come to the Gods instead! He didn't want to let go of his lover!
